However there is biological evidence that it's caused by neurological formation in the womb, and there's historical evidence that transgender people existed since ancient Greece. I mean that doesn't mean you have to agree with them on the semantics of the word gender, but at the same time society is incredibly gender rigid, so until someone displaying the behaviors of the opposite gender aren't told "That's not how your gender is supposed to act." then it's honestly just easier for them to transition genders.
