Hey, how about you actually post them instead of just linking you idiot OP
It didn't have to be so. It completely weird how Warner Brothers is so ashamed of these DC properties that were already widely popular to begin with, that they don't let them stand on their own. It's like they have some kind of confidence issues preventing them from doing anything without Batman holding their hand.
>MCU Black Widow
Yeah right. She's completely hollow. She's supposed to have this dark past and needs to be redeemed, but they never really grapple with it at all. In The Avengers they imply she burned down a hospital but she's clearly the good guy and always will be.
>It completely weird how Warner Brothers is so ashamed of these DC properties that were already widely popular to begin with, that they don't let them stand on their own
This is literally a thread about a SOLO Wonder Woman movie, how is she not standing on her own? Did they give Black Widow a solo movie?
She was only good in Winter Soldier where they actually had consequences and meaningful development based on her checkered past as a KGB agent. It informed her character in a more consistent way. You don't get that in the Avengers movies.
Okay, look, I know we do the whole skeleton women don't work out for roles excuse to post muscle girls thing every thread but couldn't they have at least dyed her hair black?
Wonder Woman's not a brunette.
>Gal's disguised appearance kept the superpowers that lay beneath well hidden. Despite her impressive weaponry, she came across as rather meek, brandishing the sword in an unassertive manner.
It throws off the color balance and makes all the toys look like weird hong kong knock offs.
But fuck it, clearly we've already decided that anyone that has any complaints whatsoever about this movie is a misogynistic marveldrone.
>Most of the comics mentioned are cancelled
>While the other stuff about DC has been subverted Post-DCYou
Next time a DC Thread is started, don't go to it
The meme is dead, buried, consider this mercy
No, I have lots of complaints about DCEU Wonder Woman and Gadot specifically, but complaining her hair is not black when it's dark enough is retarded. TV show Wonder Woman didn't have black hair when she didn't wear a wig, and nobody cared or cares.
If her hair was basically red you would have a point
Okay, well, follow along as I try and explain a 15 word sentence to you!
>that painful realization
This is implying that the coming idea is something that is not liked
>that Black Widow
This is saying that one point of reference in the post will be about Black Widow; it also implies a negative feeling towards Black Widow
>will be a better cinematic character
Paired with "that painful realization" and "that Black Widow", this portion of the sentence denotes the fact that they are upset about Black Widow being portrayed as a better cinematic character than someone else
>than Wonder Woman
Wow! That completes the thought! The post states that it is upsetting that Black Widow, an unliked character, will be better than Wonder Woman.
Thanks for following, I know sentences are hard for you to follow. Feel free to dismiss this post with claims of autism and other things necessary for you to pad your ego in the face of a humiliating schooling.
She looks too old.
I was hopoing they would save Etta for the sequel because then she'll be dead :'(
And I understood and disagreed that Black Widow is a good character. I assumed you liked Black Widow because greentext is often used to imply sarcasm. Which you would know if you weren't a complete autist who doesn't understand social cues.
Is that Lucy Davis? Are we going to have Etta Candy stuck in the past?! Will she find another a present day fat blonde to hang out with?!
They weren't cancelled, they ended, Bizarro, Batmite, ASS8, and Lost Army were miniseries. Only Doomed was really cancelled. but yeah, a lot of them are selling pretty poorly, so much for diversity selling (And so much for good story telling selling books too)
Gadot looks really good in those clothes, especially with the hat and glasses.
Pine looks great as well.
Lucy Davis is totally Etta Candy.
Who knows, but he's certainly in a multi picture contract.
I kinda hope he'll be his own grandfather 'cause they did that in the 70's show. Of course, although WW was infatuated with Steve, she's just good friends with his son.
huh, well damn, always though it was because of the ":Lost Army" on the title, but eh it was pretty boring and stale, I love Bunn's Sinestro as much as the next guy but all his other works are pretty meh.
Fucking issue 9 of Kanan is selling better than a huge chunk of their Titles and that guy isn't even form a movie. I mean the DCYou sales were shit, there's no doubt about that but ANAD is tanking just as hard
Marvel is just lucky that they have Star Wars to hide the fact that their superhero stuff is about as popular as a swift kick in the balls. People have caught on to their relaunching shit and don't like it.
>Snyder has mentioned that he has the whole DCEU drawn out on a whiteboard.
Yea I remember when it leaked online
Seeing as how Snyder chose the actors and actresses for the majority of the DC universe, yes he fucking does have something to do with this
So please leave dc movie threads forever and never shitpost again
This is what pisses me off the most. The other directors who are better than Snyder can't pick who they want in the lead. Even Mera will be chosen by him (I like Amber Heard but I don't like that Snyder is the one to choose)
>Snyder chose the actors and actresses for the majority of the DC universe
He chose the JL members obviously, but I doubt he cast anyone else in other movies.
He may have some input but he's not the one that makes the decision.
Sure, I'm always up for a DCEU thread.
Anyone else think they're going to put "DC Films" under the logo starting BvS? The description for the Dawn of the Justice League special in 3 days says DC Films. They could just be switching the bottom description based on the format it's on (comics, television, films, animation, etc.)
No, because he didn't do any Marvel films before Avengers.
Chris Pine made the movie sound pretty cool.
>“It’s a period we don’t see often; it’s usually World War II,” Pine told the Toronto Sun. “Our costume design is incredible. We have scenes with, like, 500 extras all in period dress. I’d never been on a film with extras casting as beautifully done as it is here.”
>“Steve Trevor is a roguish, cynical realist who’s seen the awful brutish nature of modern civilization,” he explained, going on to describe him as “a worldly guy, a charming guy.”
>He was also effusive about Wonder Woman as a whole, saying, “it’s going to be a great, fun film. There are some incredibly deep, interesting and morally relevant themes. Patty [Jenkins] is just directing the daylights out of it. It’s shot beautifully, feels so wonderfully period, but also has this wonderful pop sensibility.”
Seeing these pictures makes me think they will try to stay close to the TV show on many things just to be safe. Much like TFA with the Original Trilogy.
The very choice of making Wonder Woman centuries old (something only present in the show) and having her movie be a period piece indicates that.
Yeah, normally I just ignore actor hype fluff, but he's going into detail about things that make it sound like they're actually trying to make a good film instead of just a notch on the belt for making a Wonder Woman movie finally.
>“It highlights a really important point. When background casting is done well, it can make or break a scene. I’ve got people in deep background that have entire lives. It’s awesome, it’s actual make-believe land.”
When they reboot the Justice League in 2069 we might get a scene of Clark and Bruce making tender love while Diana watches, sipping ocassionally from an ornate goblet. I hope to live to see it happen.
Nobody cares. Few people know or give a fuck that DC stands for Detective Comics. Just like few people now know or care that AMC stands for American Multi-Cinema or KFC stands for Kentucky Fried Chicken. Nobody gives a fuck. To most people, it's just DC.
>eventually after all franchises are rebooted enough times muh gay ships will be canon
I want to live forever
>At least DC makes me laugh without quips.
Sure, the memes are funny and the quips are terrible
>First thoughts are of BBC.
Looks like /tv/ is cross-posting.
Hey anon let's see how full of shit you are
survey says you don't read or watch current DC
>starring on 3 movies
No, she's not. Her role in Triple 9 doesn't even have a name on IMDB/Wikipedia and she's not even confirmed on another one. Her only starring role is in Criminal but she's also not really one of the main characters.
>without Batman holding their hand.
If she has to be inserted into another movie, starring Batman, before her own; she isn't standing on her own.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this image was missing some BBC in it.
They are already fairly similar
Do you mean something like leaving Hal out of the DCEU entirely and using Steve instead or just writing them similarly?
I really wanted Pine to be Hal I'm still sad it didn't happen
I'm not really sure, I just suddenly thought of it when I was reading through this thread.
Maybe making wwI Steve like the comics, and making modern day grandson Steve Trevor Hal Jordan but under a different name ?
I only really thought of it when I saw someone say not using him right could be a waste of Pine
and then I remembered how much I wanted him as Hal
shes being introduced in bvs then getting her own movie the next year, has marvel given any female character their own film yet? widow is just the token female placed in each movie
I have no idea who they'll get to direct it. There's literally one female director in Hollywood who does action films consistently and there's no way Marvel is getting Bigelow to do anything.
This is the fun part of women not getting to direct studio action movies or thrillers, when they actually need one for diversity points they come up dry.
I don't think Danny Huston will be Ares. Everyone assumed Robin Wright would be Hippolyta and she isn't.
David Thewlis looks more like a villain than him, depending on the visual characterization. Danny Huston could be Zeus. He was Poseidon in Clash of the Titans.
this reeks of teenager on tumblr
> it's now been pushed back into 2019.
How come nobody is pointing out that Marvel's first female led film will be there 21st film (If it remains on schedule) when DC will have one has it's fourth film
This person. Robin Wright is playing Hera most likely.
She looks like that Jewish transvestite that won the Eurovision contest
What makes you think they don't read Marvel comics? Capeshit comics are fod damn retarded. Of course they attract idiots. If it wasn't for modern movies and TV capeshit would be extinct.
They're gods, so they can look like anything really. Azz Hades had the body of a little kid. Which makes me wonder if Danny Houston and David Thewlis were playing gods, would they be primarily using their voice talents and having CGI bodies. I could see Houston in a stylized Ares and Thewlis in a stylized Hermes, for instance. The movie is rumored to have mythical creatures as well.
That's what I'm saying. I can picture his voice on this easily.
In all seriousness, DC really does do that shit better. They've got people like Batwoman and Midnighter who realistically portray homosexuality and still manage to be legitimately good characters with interesting stories.
Usually when Marvel does it, it feels one-dimensional, and they come across like they're only interested in getting brownie points from it. Yet they're the ones receiving all the recognition.
It's bullshit I tells ya.
It's funny because SJW are butthurt that Captain Marvel was pushed back because they were swearing that it was going to be made by Marvel before WB made Wonder Woman and that the movie was going to user a new golden Age of Superheroine movies.
But then WW is already getting made and Marvel bumped CM back and then they announced Ant-Man and the Wasp and then there was Evangeline Lilly saying that Wasp was going to be the first Marvel movie with a female character as the lead and new sites saying "First Female Marvel heroine with her name in the movie" and then the SJW were discounting Wasp because Ant-Man's name was still there and that CM counted because it was her own movie.
At this rate I am thinking the Captain Marvel movie is not even going to get made, or at least Marvel is going to take their sweet ass time with it.
>Steve Trevor is a roguish, cynical realist who’s seen the awful brutish nature of modern civilization
So he's the Sharon Carter to Wonder Woman's Cap? at least the Waid version of Sharon.
You know I will give Marvel a lot of credit for deciding to create all new characters like Kamala or Miles Morales when they want to add diversity instead of DC's LOL THAT CHARACTER YOU LIKE IS GAY OR BLACK now
Those are pre existing characters, though. They're basically legacy heroes, nothing wrong with that.
The actual Thor and Steve Rogers are still around. They didn't reboot their universe and have either suddenly be black or whatever.
>This is what pisses me off the most. The other directors who are better than Snyder can't pick who they want in the lead. Even Mera will be chosen by him (I like Amber Heard but I don't like that Snyder is the one to choose)
Amber Heard is Mera?
>Because Marvel put out a raccoon and a tree before DC put on their female led film
In a Space Opera ensemble film led by a white american man. Devin Faraci's meme was utter bullshit when he came up with it and it's still utter bullshit now.
>POLITICAL CORRECTNESS FOR THE SAKE OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS MEANS SUCCESS
Fucking KILL ME. KILL ME NOW I WANT OFF THIS PLANET
Ah yes, good goyim. Accept your Wonder Woman of the Chosen People. Don't ask questions as to why Mrs. Skeletal was chosen over everyone else...
>could have fucked anyone in Hollywood in return for the part
>chooses Gal Gadot

you fucking faggots, WW is going to be their 3rd movie and Marvel has yet to even release a fucking BW movie. They'd rather make a movie about a sentient tree & a talking raccoon before they would a woman.
In an interview last year giving an upate on Captain Marvel last year, she said they're going over every part of the script making sure they're conveying the right message with wimen in power.
With Coogler on Black Panther, both those look like it's going to be SJW city.
I have some comfort in that history will redeem DC as the better one this decade.
People are going to look back on All-New All-Different and laugh the same way people look back on Youngblood and laugh now. Sidecuts and shallow PC-publicity stunts are going to be for the 10's what mullets and glam rock were to the 80's.
Also, keep in mind the people sucking Marvel's dick right now will stop caring about comics when other normies decide for them that it isn't cool and hip anymore.
It's a much more brutal war with less of a black and white villain. Nobody is really "right" and it's all about land, etc. They can use it more effectively to show off the horrors of war and Diana's role as an ambassador of peace, I think. Plus WW2 is really cliched.
>their third movie
Do you people honestly not remember that WB has had DC films since before the DCCU (or whatever we're calling it)?
It's great that they beat Marvel to the punch - WW deserves it, after all - but this is not their third. If you go back to just the recent trend in cape movies (let's say 2000?), it'll be at least their eighth, six of which were Batman and Superman movies. I'd probably even take that further back to Batman '89, but this works fine too, without seeming too bias, I hope.
Of course you could go back a little further and give DC credit for the awful Supergirl film, but it doesn't look like WB had anything to do with that, so it'd be like giving Marvel Studios credit for Elektra (correct me if I'm wrong though).
DC Entertainment is going to start branding more prominently and based on medium. Comics will have the DC logo and say "DC Comics" at the bottom. Live action movies will have the DC logo and say "DC Films" on the bottom, etc.
Of course, but i'm talking about the new films here. All that shit talking about DC/WB being ashamed of WW getting her own movie from Marvel's comic staff & general public, yet we're about a dozen deep in MCU flicks & Black Widow still has been nothing more than a seat warmer without her own movie.
>Will the Blackhawks be in this?
>Will the Creature Commados be in this?
>Will the Motherfucking Haunted Tank by in this?
>Will the Muthahfucin' Gravedigger be in this?
>Will the Nameless Soldier be in this?
>Will Mademoiselle Marie be in this? Or Alfred during his spy days?
One of Marstons big inspirations when he created Wonder Woman was the suffragette movement. Setting the Wonder Woman film in WWI lets you tie her closer to one of the main inpirations for her as well as first-wave feminism.
Black Widow doesn't deserve a solo movie. That's obvious. Marvel is actually right for not giving her a movie just to pander to annoying complainers.
Should they have made another female character movie? Maybe. But nobody gives a fuck about Black Widow.
Black Widow could have made for a great character and could certainly have carried a solo film if they'd had any interest in Black Widow beyond Scarlett Johansson in a black leotard.
You're just jealous of his fantastic looks
That's a different shield than the one from BvS.
Yup, the one she's holding in the set pictures has the Vergina Sun:
As a fan of Wondie and a feminist, I want to see female leads in comic films, and I am very happy to see that a Wonder Woman movie is being made.
However, I am highly displeased with the casting. She is far too thin to be a realistic Wonder Woman. I believe they picked her because they are trying to rope in Furious fans, and Snyder does not care that she is far skinnier compared to her character than are the actors portraying Supes and Bats. Not that I expect a director who arbitrarily allowed the queen in 300 raped in the movie when it did not happen in the comics to respect women's representation in film.
>As a fan of Wondie and a feminist, I want to see female leads in comic films, and I am very happy to see that a Wonder Woman movie is being made.
>However, I am highly displeased with the casting. She is far too thin to be a realistic Wonder Woman.
Tough shit, fattie. Console yourself in your bowl of cookie dough.
the original meme was posted a year & a half way too early before the DCEU. All that bullshit talk coming from Marvel's end yet nothing to back it up. Also doesn't help when one of the Marvel Suits more or less said the same damn thing.
Where's the Black Widow set photos? I'll wait.
Point still stands that the misogynist DC is making Wonder Woman their 4th installment yet the so progressive mainstream MCU keeps stalling on a female solo film. Marvel would rather take chances on a black super hero, share spoils with Sony for Spiderman, & follow through with a Thor 3 than to make a Captain Marvel. It'd be hilarious if it were not so sad.
>As a fan of Wondie
>She is far too thin to be a realistic Wonder Woman
Yeah cause she's totally never been portrayed as thin before. I wonder if you've ever even read a WW comic in your life.
>Not that I expect a director who arbitrarily allowed the queen in 300 raped in the movie
BAD THINGS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO WOMEN IN ENTERTAINMENT EVER!
>I am not a feminist.
>I think she looks fine.
>I think people should be cast according to their acting ability and not their appearance.
>And I think people like you are dicks.
Wonder Women in comics is not a Skeleton, you know that?
>I know she's been thin before but show me where she's thin during this period that accounts for 20% of her existence.
Not that guy, but here...
It's not their 4th installment. Stop acting like the company restarted after TDKR. They're already beating Marvel to the female lead - why do you feel the need to lie just to make it seem dramatic?
Because the cinematic universe reflects the character in overall. The character in overall is defined by the main continuity. And the main continuity Wonder Woman for the last 20 years (because that happened in the mid 90s too) is athletic.
Dude, if you don't understand how awful most of DC's moves were between 2011 and 2013/early 2014, you are blind. Especially the Batwoman ban on marriage was stupid since it was such an organic part of the story (and I'm usually not really ok with gay marriage, but I prefer my stories to feel coherent and not thrown away whenever editors feel like it). How Williams III was fired was a shame too.
I'll take a picture of my comic book library (which is only 10% of what I have since the rest is at my parents' home) whenever if you really want a proof I'm a DC fag
>Especially the Batwoman ban on marriage was stupid since it was such an organic part of the story (and I'm usually not really ok with gay marriage, but I prefer my stories to feel coherent and not thrown away whenever editors feel like it). How Williams III was fired was a shame too.
You don't know shit apparently. It wasn't a Batwoman thing, they just didn't want anyone getting married in any comics and JH Williams didn't get fired, he left after they told him no marriages. And that comic wasn't even good aside from the art.
The fact that you take that bait image with any sort of merit is proof enough that you're a gigantic moron.
Could the DCEU Wonder Woman be like this >>79104679, not only her bodytype, but everything else?
She could, but it would face major criticism as well, because it doesn't reflect the average modern Wonder Woman.
What did /co/ think of Man of Steel anyways?
My personal thoughts:
Typical Hans Zimmer score but still pretty good
Superman killing Zod was fine
Great casting for Supes, Perry, Ma Kent, alright casting for Lois, Pa, the rest
Best action I've seen in a comic movie next to ASM films
First flight, Clark's talks with Ma, Daily Planet ending are among some of the best scenes in comic movies
Best Superman theme
Only thing that annoyed me was Krypton intro being too long, emphasis on Jor-El over Pa Kent, Pa's retarded death scene
Those last three used to annoy me pretty badly but I don't let shit like that get to me anymore
I like it much more than most comic movies, which I generally tend to find alright. My other favorites are Batman Begins, TASM, and Captain America: First Avenger.
lol why are you wanting to keep bringing up their past films when all I'm saying that this is going to be the 4th movie of their "cinematic universe" shit?
I'm talking movies anon, not throw away tv shit that'll never get acknowledged. Super girl being mary sue is just a "well duh!"
>Super girl being mary sue
She got beat in ep3 and superman had to come save her.
She fucked up and MM had to defuse the train bomb in like ep 4. MM also saved her vs her Aunt early on.
>Marvel is much more progressive guys
Demon Knights alone was more diverse and better written than practically all of Marvel's shoehorned in diversity.
I wonder if you've ever gotten laid in your life.
Does this look like a skinny woman to you? It's Wondie's original design.
Azzarello's run is epic. The First Born is a great villain, one worthy of a trinity character.
Bad things that were added simply for shock value or lack of writing talent for female characters should not happen in entertainment. She had ample motivation to cut a bitch without getting raped, which was not in the source material. They would not have added that scene for a male character. Sexist bullshit.
People like you do not think critically about how women are portrayed in film compared to men.
A realistic portrayal, which is what comic movies go for these days, would require a more athletic build. Gadot looks more like Catwoman than Wonder Woman.
>I wonder if you've ever gotten laid in your life.
>The First Born is a great villain
Jesus Christ, Marvel. This is your fans?
This is set during World War I.
You know, because WWI was so important to Wonder Woman and America just loves World War I movies.
Shit. Superberoes themselved are a product of WWII and have always had a link to that war. Never mind that WWI movies were never all that popular or sell well compared to the WWII ones.
mfw some idiots at Warners fundamentally changed Wonder Woman's time period not only to avoid Cap comparisons, even though both heroes were invented as WWII American icons, but probrably also to try to cash in on the Downton Abbey craze
I figured they'd connect it to that, but tbat doesn't mean you fan ignore Wonder Woman and superheroes are an invetion of World War II.
There was no Wonder Woman in WWI unless you count some Elseworlds in the 90s.
And it isn't like women's rights and feminism stopped as soon as thet got the vote. Marston was advocating for even more rights for women. Hell, he even argued for a female run society and how it would be better than the current male dominated one.
It's not even an integral part of her character being connected to WWII. They just propagandized anything and everything at the time to support the war. Post Crisis, they even retconned her even being in WWII and instead made it Hippolyta and I don't even think it's been mentioned since the New 52. The fact that they're putting her in WWI doesn't affect anything. Captain America being from the WWII era is important - Wonder Woman, not so much.
Yes. Let's just ignore that WWI was a wholly different war in the American conscious and the whole zeitgeist of the superhero is connected to WWII.
The fact that they've ignored direct WWII connection post Crisis and post Flashpoint means it's even dumber to go further back to WWI.
At least if they went back to WWII, there was reasoning to tie her back to her origins and the origins of the superhero genre in the comics of WWII.
Why the fuck would you set Wonder Woman in the first World War ?!
The only reasoning is Warners is paranoid people would think they're ripping off Captain America. Of course that's fucking retarded because both characters are of that era. That's Warner logic for you.
The only other reason I can think of is that some suit saw Downton Abbey popularity and wanted to get some of those Downton bucks. Same studio train of thought that wanted to shove a giant spider and talking polar bears and gay robots in a Superman movie.
Yeah. Jon Peters isn't on this and Warners kept him away from Man Of Steel, but they have plenty of other idiots that think like him running the place.
Though, really, why the fuck did they give Batman his DKR armored suit? It's supposed to be from an older Batman in his last meeting with Superman. There was no reason to throw it into a movie of how they first met. It does fucking look like Warners is trying to get in on the Iron Man armored suit bucks.
Fuck. Even the recent comics are doing that shit way too much.
>implying that tinfoil means anything to the Man Of Steel
