TMNT thread! Discuss the upcoming movie and game, the current cartoon and the IDW comic and so on. Got a favorite turtle? A favorite movie? Perhaps a favorite artist? Let's talk about things related to the ninja turtles.
I think would have to rank them based on the different incarnations if I were to do one. But I think my favorite turtle is Raphael. Even though the angst can be a little bit much some time.
There we go.
Any particular incarnation?
This did not turn out all too well but here you go.
I have only skimmed them but the artwork is pretty damn nice.
I prefer IDW's. Mainly because of the lack of a helmet.
>Mikey confirmed to have a giantess fetish
How does this make you feel, /co/?
so has anyone made a list of all the references in the game out of the shadows? Like I know they do the shell thing from the movie but what else is there, like did raph really use an iron fist?
There was literally no reason to call these miniature Mindless One ripoffs Neutrinos at all. I kept expecting them to at least show that inside the armor were dudes resembling the originals.
For an actually good updated version, see IDW.
It was confirmed by Bobby Curnow like 12 hours ago on The Technodrome forums that they would not in fact be re-printing them. He said he'd look into the reason as he himself was unaware.
posting in Turtles Thread
Oh my, thank you!
I've been really wanting to read the IDW turtles. Every time I've caught some of a storytime they've been lovely. And I love Sophia Campbell's art, so yeah!
Also take this >>79092612
Bobby said it recently on The Technodrome forum. But he also said he would look into why. So I guess we might find out more later. This is what he said.
It looks like we aren't planning to print the Image series, but i'm hoping to dig into the reason for that a little more soon.
King Sombra was the only story anything that IDW got right for MLP's comics. Everything else? Bogged down by pretentious writers who are arrogant about their mediocrity and joyfully tell their customers to fuck off. Essentially TTG writers.
That April is a total babe.
Leo: Original movies
Mike: IDW Comics
Raph: 2003 cartoon
Don: 1987 cartoon
Shredder: Original movies
Splinter: IDW Comics
April: 2003 Cartoon
I'm sorry you don't like emotionally deep characters, anon. Maybe one day a lovely flower will warm up that heart of yours. :^)
Personally, I find the one-noted "always angry" Raphael to be dull. It's obviously very subjective. I like Leonardo because he's very caught up in his own head, I like characters that are driven by introspection. For me, that makes him especially interesting on his own, but it's something I identify with as a person who has had to take charge throughout life without necessarily wanting to bear the burden. Leo is definitely for "the eldest son" fans.
Tanino Liberatore (RanXerox) made a cover for The River trilogy by Rick Veitch who had its own trade in France.
I would prefer it if she was left out, maybe have Ninjara in the comic instead. But there could probably be an okey way too handle it. This is just me going on a rant but here's how IDW could handle her. Like have her be a seperate mutated turtle where the same thing just happened to her but in china, but don't have her also be reincarnated. but have her not really be that connected to the turtles. You can keep the chinese kung fu thing going but I'm not so sure about the magic. Perhaps have her be evil at first, like an assassin. But that might be too close to Alopex. Don't have it be the all the guys want her thing. The chinese thing would let us know that there are things happening on global scale too and put a twist on the character.
Step one: Probably don't call her Venus.
It was always a little tacky to name all the dudes after great artists then name Venus after 'a work of art'
I like the name Venus, but the reasoning is dumb.
>2003 > 2012 > 80s
Agreed, most definitely. We're four seasons deep on the Nick cartoon, so I feel the hierarchy of the TMNT cartoons is pretty clearly defined at this point.
On a sidenote, I always thought it was cool how each TMNT cartoon ran so long and were so spaced out from each other that they never felt the need to add a subtitle. They're all simply called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles".
That said, I wouldn't mind if they started a new series up right after the Nick series finishes.
I want a reference to Turtles Forever so bad. Nothing big, just a little throwaway line for the fans.
>80's Leonardo: Turtles from another universe?!
>80's Raphael (looking at the camera): Didn't we do this once already?
Campbell's version is the closest anyone's come to making the idea work.
Major kudos for not giving her hair or molding tits into her plastron.
Well it isn't official but here is one by Campbell.
The River was collected many moons ago as TMNT Collected Book Volume Six.
Good luck finding the damn thing.
My idea is a subseries running parallel with the ongoing set in China. Make her actually wear ninja attire instead a turtle bandanna. She could easily be undermining Foot occupation in China.
Or you could go really weird with it & have it set in ancient china. Who knows?!
Continuities where Splinter was a rat
>Mirage / Image
>90's films / Next Mutation
>2003 cartoon / Dreamwave
>2014 / 2016 Films
Continuities where Splinter was a human
And then there's IDW.
So since Slash got confirmed in that leaked achievement list for Mutants in Manhattan, and Old Hob might possibly appear, who do you picture voicing these two? I really want Scott McNniel for Old Hob.
HIs art has gone through a lot of transformation. This is how it looked before he started with The Secret History of the Foot Clan.
And this is a compilation of some covers.
The guy's a master at fight choreography too.
My nostalgia requires me to say that Eastman and Laird are the GOAT turtles artists but god DAMN are Mateus Santolouco and Cory Smith amazing.
Probably, but I still kinda like her so I wouldn't mind it. If they handled it in a good way that is.
Laird & Eastman HATE Venus. I think it's one of the things that they forbid from doing in any showrunner to do in a movie/tv IIRC.
If they do add a female turtle, it'll be a mutated Karai rather it be a accident or done purposely. It's just the easier way out than to create a Sonic OC.
I'm pretty sure Eastman was okey with Venus when it was being done?
This thread is missing something.
Is it wrong that my favorite part of this is, "My apologies to whoever gets the bo."
I mean the obvious thing
or more accurately what I want to seeis Snake!Karai staying as she is and getting trained by Splinter. Shredder doesn't seem like the sort to buy into meditation, which would help her a lot.
I can't say I'd be crazy surprised if Karai eventually ends up a turtle, though.
I hope that one day, we can have a Alopex & Nobody micro-series.
Shredder look like Hanzo Hattori
Did Shredder was ever developed in any comic or tv series? Like had shown his motivation to become evil or was he always evil for the sake of being mean.
Did he had any love interest or something?
I do like that the new game will be based on IDW and Santolouco's artwork, but I wonder how they will handle the voices.
I want it to be
one 80s turtle va
one 90s movie va
one 2003 va or next mutation va if the vas are still non union
one out of the shadows game va
but we will probably get a all new voice cast
I hope we get one 80s turtle VA at least
I also hope we can get some alt costumes but how many alt costumes have the turtles gotten in the IDW series? There has to be a red bandanna mode at least
Shredder in Mirage was motivated by his brother's death.
Shredder in the movie for revenge of being the third wheel of Hamato and Teng Shen.
Shredder in the 80s cartoon was evil for the sake of evil.
Utrom Shredder was a genocidal monster, but did show semi-love for Karai. Ghost Shredder loved only himself and battle so he allowed the Tengu spirit to merge with him. Cyber Shredder is basically Utrom Shredder.
2012 Shredder is motivated by revenge for believing everything wrong in his life is due to Hamato Yoshi.
IDW Shredder is motivated by a grant thrist of power, to conquer, and to be forever.
2013 Movie Shredder is so far evil for the sake of evil.
80's cartoon evil seems to have started the whole thing from jealousy of Hamato Yoshi and a thirst for power. His ultimate goal was to conquer earth. But he was almost always silly evil for evil reasons.
I really want these statues but they are too expensive.
Strongest Turtle group
2003>Micheal bay version>IDW>2012>1987
I gotta say, I am kinda loving the look of these guys.
In the comics? Human ninja from feudal Japan kept alive with alien magic tech, currently dead via sudoku.
>Will IDW ever top chapter 50?
I honestly don't know. Issue 50 was a fucking triumph. Dat everything, man.
I hope the first Shredder fight is a fight you're "supposed to lose", as in, the enemy gets priority on all his moves and has way more health than anyone else and your moves don't phase him. Losing triggers a cutscene that moves the game along, but if you DO manage to somehow win the fight, you get a special cutscene (that evidently ends up leading back to the same point as the first one), an achievement and Shredder mentioning your previous victory during the rematch later on.
Yeah, it's based on a piece of James Jean's artwork.
Looks surprisingly fun, unlike the first one. Bebop and Rocksteady are spot on.
Hyped as fuck. If they can make a Bayonetta styled TMNT and pull it off it'll be GOAT tier.
not up to date on either currently (trying to keep pace with my gf) so can't comment, both are great though. Love the art in issue 50.
1990 for fun factor, 2007 for dat emotional fight
Here's a lineup I did based on Campbell's. The legs are too short, but I'm trying.
Slash has always been a fave. I dug the toy/ Archie look with him as a villain. It looked like they were gonna go with a similar design in the idw April one shot but opted for the snapping turtle look. Maybe I'll get to see Dark turtles in lieu of that.
Michael Zullo arc was great in the original run. I loved that art. I really like smith and Campbell on the new run and look forward to more Dialynas.
YAAAAAAAY!!!! It looks like IDW issue #54 or #55 will be focusing on Alopex and Kitsune~! YAAAY!! More character development and stuff for her to do!
April and Casey break up? This is your fault /co/.
anyone else read Herman's lines with the TF2 Soldier's voice in their head?
The only time I've really been invested in that ship is when Elias Koteas and Judith Hoag brought some legit chemistry into it.
TMNT has never done romance well, which is honestly fine with me. TMNT's always been about familial love, not romantic love. Which is partly why I find Donnie's crush on April (as well as Nick TMNT's obsession with pairing off the turtles in general) to be so annoying and forced.
And sadly the retarded IDW artists/writers are listening to moronic annoying shippers by giving into Raph/Alopex. Haven't been this angry since Raven/Beast Boy in the main TT comics and fuck TTG for it.
All that's missing is to reduce Alopex to being a damsel with Kitsune for Raph to rescue.

Just leave this here...
Glad I'm off to a good start. I'm going to finish this tonight. I've been up a bit too late.
http://imgur.com/jR2zhx0I'm not really feeling it so I'll come back to it later.
Oh boy, gonna read dis again!
If you're feeling it later, mind doing something with Xiang Fei Tong? I thought her design and depiction, even if brief, were pretty good.
looks like there will be costumes as dlc but hopefully more as unlockables like korra and bayonetta
I have no idea why it says 2015 but it looks like this is it
I really like your work can you do some IDW karai she gets so little love
good shit, I'll be satisfied.
Don't like DLC but a nice lil costume here and there won't hurt
