Ada's the character I love to hate. She's one of the few characters who acts like she's above everybody else, but simultaneously is the character fulfilling the wish fulfillment of the audience by actually dating a girl in the all-girl school. Without Ada to be a gloomy counterpoint to everybody else, there would be no perspective, and lizard girls being girly would be the only thing to fill the void. The irony of her being hopelessly smitten with the dumbest girl on campus also helps.
