Think I got through about 8 episodes. I didn't think it was that bad, especially compared to Johnny Test, and even thought it was even kind of cool that it did some steady world building and development of their powers over the episodes I did see. It just also felt completely generic and I didn't feel like catching up.

SU gets better and better as it goes on really. I wouldn't blame you if you watched the first few episodes and wrote it off. I'd say it takes until Giant Woman to really become at least somewhat interesting.

>>79070856
Used to watch this show up until the third or fourth season or so. I just don't 'get' it anymore. Dropped it and have never really looked back.

I've seen clips of this called Rekit Rabbit. Anybody have a site I can watch it on or a Mega link.

I dropped Problem Solvers after the first episode if that means anything.

I couldn't sit through this for half an episode. I think there's something actually wrong with you if you could make it through 8 episodes without your body blinding itself to protect you from permanent mental damage.
>>
>>79070832
Yeah, I was pretty much the same way with SU. After the first four episodes I dropped it and didn't really get interested until the first season finale but didn't start full on watching it until the start of the second Steven Bomb

>SU gets better and better as it goes on really. I wouldn't blame you if you watched the first few episodes and wrote it off. I'd say it takes until Giant Woman to really become at least somewhat interesting.
It has a fair amount of bad episodes (namely anything involving Connie) and does get a little excessive with tumblr pandering but it is not by any means a bad show.
>>
>>79076868
Imo, the only real unwatchable episode of SU for me is Say Uncle. It has some funny moments with Pearl, but I just hate Uncle Grandpa so much

>>

seconding both of these

SU is good when it tries, and I'm not just referring to lore (although that is arguably it's primary appeal for fans) - I generally really like when SU focuses on its characters and character development, such as in Steven and the Stevens (probably my favourite overall episode)

>>79076900
I can't stand Sadie's Song, not because of the cross-dressing, as other cartoons have done that gag, but because fucking nothing happens - no character development is made, the plot doesn't advance, there's nothing funny in there, etc..

I don't really like Ronaldo episodes either.
>>
>>79077008
I think the whole point of Sadie's Song is to use the song as foreshadowing. Really, any episode that's basically filler is just to foreshadow something

Never change /co/

Anyway I can't say I've ever dropped a show after just a few episodes. That seems rather shallow to me
Too many series I've watched have had just mediocre first seasons while the rest just gets better. Of course the opposite happens as well
Either I watch a show in it's entirety regardless of quality or I don't start it at all.
Damn glad I never jumped on the "Maybe MLP isn't so bad" train

The dichotomy is really interesting to observe between the sizable number of people who think cartoons are in a golden age of creativity and creator freedom and the almost equally sizable number of people who think cartoons are in a woeful state of pandering and shallow platitudes.

Obviously a community is not one person and an entire consumer base for an entertainment medium even less so, but I don't think I've ever seen the general opinion on the quality of a generation of cartoons be so starkly polarized. Just an observation.

Cartoon Network is an American basic cable and satellite television channel that is owned by the Turner Broadcasting System division of Time Warner. The channel airs primarily animated programming, ranging from action to animated comedy. It was founded by Betty Cohen and launched on October 1, 1992.

It is primarily aimed at children and teenagers between the ages of 7–16, and also targets older teens and adults with mature content during its late night daypart Adult Swim, which is treated as a separate entity for promotional purposes and as a separate channel by Nielsen for ratings purposes. A Spanish language audio track for select programs is accessible via SAP; some cable and satellite companies offer the Spanish feed as a separate channel.

As of February 2015, Cartoon Network is available to approximately 96.4 million pay television households (82.8% of households with television) in the United States.

The show is a surreal action-adventure comedy that relies extensively on visual gags and catchphrases. Creator Pete Browngardt has cited the work of cartoonists Don Martin, Gary Larson and Robert Crumb, as well as Golden Age-era animators such as Tex Avery when it came to developing the style of the show. Each 11-minute episode is presented in a unique format, consisting of a main seven- to nine-minute story, some short bumpers typically composed of a quick visual joke, and an original short that focuses on the show's side-characters.

The thing about "Tumblr" fandoms is that they move from franchise to franchise, they're the same crowd of autists propping up a different product, they went from Hetalia to Homestuck to SU to Undertale, it's all the same people.

Meanwhile /co/ autists cling, they absolutely fucking cling to the thing they like especially if it has a waifu, whether it's MLP, or Fairy Oddparents, or some teenage robot show from ten years ago, or some Scooby Doo special from twenty years ago, the shit doesn't fucking die.

oh my fucking god, anything is better than CN real!

2010 CN gets too much hate, honestly. It has quite a few decent cartoons: Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, Steven Universe, etc.

Even the shows no one really cares about are decent to, Clarence, Uncle Grandpa, etc. (I know most people hate UG, but its not that bad)

The only bad things from CN that I can think of are Supernoobs and TTG

>>79070832
I thought it was merely decent early on, passable. I watched it very sparingly at first over the course of months just because it was something to do when I was very, very bored. Then at around episode 18 it suddenly got very, very good and I wound up watching the whole rest of the show up to current in like two sittings. This happened like a week ago. Now I absolutely love this show.
>>
>>79070756

See, I liked WBB at first: the first 10 or so episodes were nice enough and got a decent laugh out of me every now and then, but then the chupacabra thing came in and for some reason the irrational hatred I had for that character seemed to seep into the rest of the series.

Still, Ice bear is always hilarious.
>>
>>79085417
The first two episodes are good.
In Mirror Gem, the episodes are even better.
By the end of the season, the show gets ludicrously good.
>>
>>79075649
Mirror Gem/Ocean Gem is what usually hooks a lot of people who where suspect of the series.

Even I was turned off by it, thinking it was some kind of regular monster of the week/slice of life cartoon, but then those episodes happened and it completely opened the door to plot, development, lore, and shit like that.

Now the series is in the middle of potential intergalactic warfare. Not bad for an american kids show.
>>
>>79091549
Yeah, it's true.
>>
>>79086549
>>79086565
I think the only reason anyone can reasonably hate Connie/Connie based episodes is that her presence really does not move the plot/story along. She is there to eventually become a love interest, once both of them reach that point of knowing that they love each other.

That said she is 12 and he is 14 and naive as fuck. By the time they have their actual first kiss/confession of love we might as well be in the fucking 3rd or 4th season. Their progression of couple development is slow as shit. But again, its expected given their age and inexperience.

So at this point, most of the time she is there the episodes do not revolve around development. They might as well be filler episodes, for now.
