guys I'm worried..
Yes. Barry's relationship with Iris is integral to the plot of the comics and giving him a male partner would feel insanely shoehorned-in and awkward. For a character where romantic relationships aren't important storywise, making them gay wouldn't be much of a problem, but Iris is so important to Barry Allen's character that such obvious changes would be really dumb.
This problem is sort of shown in CW Barry, but mainly because Iris does fucking nothing and doesn't contribute anything to the show.
The point is that it has to feel like it's not just shoehorned in, and that's impossible with the relationship between Barry and Iris because of how prominent it is in the comics.
It's like if they made a Punisher movie but made him refuse to use guns just to make a point about gun control or something. The change doesn't necessarily mean that the movie would outright suck from an objective perspective, but it would be so jarring and noticeable and overall negatively affect the adaptation.
But yeah, you're probably right in saying that tumblr fanatics wouldn't take no for an answer no matter what.
FFS. Ezra Miller is bisexual. He has even said in interviews that he is mostly into girls. Why did they cast this actor? Is it because he is a very talented young actor with great performances in 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' and 'We Need to Talk about Kevin,' along with good range? Is it because from his interviews he seems to be really into playing the Flash? Is it because since he is in the new Harry Potter film (reportedly as a villain) he will accrue a fanbase of his own (who will no doubt ship him with Eddie Redmayne)? Is it because he has good comedic timing? No its obviously because he has made out with a couple of GUYS! They must be making Barry Allen GAY! Its the only reason. No straight actor would ever kiss another man as part of a film!
Also, it wasn't because of Ezra Miller that I thought they were making Barry gay, Joblo (credible movie news site) says their sources are claiming that WB are looking to make one member of the JL gay, WB isn't fully sure they'll go through with it but just entertaining the thought
They didn't say they'd turn a JL member gay, just that they want to introduce a queer character in the DCEU. That's different.
Could be Batwoman, Midnighter, Constantine etc. Plenty of characters to choose from.
Reading back I kind of come off as a dickhead towards the end, I didn't mean to come across as angry but I've just heard that rumour so much.
I feel like Joblo are putting two and two together. I've heard a couple of people (John Campea, maybe?) talking about how ANYTHING you post about BvS or SS will be the top read story that day. It could be Ezra MIller, hell they could be introducing Midnighter (like >>79065940 said), Poison Ivy or following through on Geoff Johns Hal/Sinestro slashfic. Hell even Catwoman is bi now. If Barry is gay I won't mind as long as that isn't his sole personality trait. If its subdued and he is treated as a regular character that happens to be gay it'll probably be fine.
I have no problem with Barry being Gay in itself.
I do have a problem with Barry being turned Gay just to make some quick SJW points.
But what's actually happening is that Barry's getting a movie and they've cast an openly bisexual actor, nothing to do with the character.
So basically, calm the fuck down people.
Wouldn't care as long as he's as qt as Red Racer
If they want a gay leaguer they should make Cyborg gay as less people care about the character and he doesn't have well known love interests and double progressive points with a gay black guy
And he's pretty gay already with that other football player
>Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts movie
>They invent some device that allows Flash to cross an energy barrier, but it could be potentially lethal to him
>Before they enact the plan, Flash hugs Nightwing
And that's how I found myself shipping those two.
We like our fan art to be in character.
Watcha gonna do about it /co/?
Reminder that Grant Gustin played a gay guy in one of his roles. People are actors. How they are in their personal lives has no affect in the characters they play.
>even hot ass
>looks great dressed as pilot
Matt Bomer as Hal when?
Tom Hardy would be a perfect Midnighter. I don't think Warner would want trigger the media casting a closeted bisexual to play a gay guy, tho.
>Guy plays a gay guy in a role, so he's an in-closet fag.
Gustin is straight and getting married.
> Erza Miller has described himself as queer, specifying: "The way I would choose to identify myself wouldn’t be gay. I’ve been attracted mostly to ‘shes’ but I’ve been with many people and I’m open to love wherever it can be"; and that he has "a lot of really wonderful friends who are of very different sexes and genders. I am very much in love with no one in particular".
He's a snowflake
Why can't these special snowflake faggots say they're bisexual for once? None of this queer panromantic open to any love type of bullshit.
Nigga, you're bisexual if you're attracted to both sexes. Nothing wrong with it.
Tumblr snowflakes object to that because the definition implies that there are only two types of people, Men and Women, and doesn't recognize the "spectrum" of genders and sexual identifications that you could be attracted to.
Still bullshit, but at least its bullshit that's a little more internally consistent than some other retarded claims they make.
The dumb part to me is when they start making up new words for societal norms. Like "demisexual" which is just not wanting to have sex unless you're in a relationship with someone.
Bomer was always my perfect Nightwing
although now I can see that he and Cavill are almost identical
The actor is in fact gay, but doesn't mean the character (Barry Allen/The Flash) will be gay in the movie. Just look at Neil Patrick Harris he's gay, but in his movies he plays a heterosexual character.
I don't even try to pin down my sexuality anymore, all of the language has been co-opted by Tumblrcunts.
So I identify as "I'll fuck whatever I want and you people go along with it".
the sad thing is, of all of those people, you actually get it
the others don't want to admit they're just going 'whatever, i'll do whatever feels good' but that is literally all 'sexuality' is. not an identity, just you choosing to tickle your pickle instead of following order
