They had a pretty good run with dofus and sidework, then they had somewhat of a good run during early wakfu, and the cartoon s01 was fantastic. s02 suffered but was still alright. Then everything went to shit - dofus was already being shat on, but it and wakfu got dropped a hiroshima and a nagasaki toward the specials' airing date, and the specials were pretty fucking shit.

Watch the fansub release. It's got the better script without the dumb name changes, and it has the proper speed. The blu-ray release was pitched down slightly because there's no 25fps blu-ray standard (only 24 and 50 fps). The only thing you're missing out on is the video quality, but it's good enough anyways.

The English dub was really quite bad because they didn't have a voice director and the English audio wasn't mixed well with the music and sound effects.
That being said, people who don't understand French or Spanish have no place saying how good those dubs are. It's impossible to tell how well a language is being spoken if you don't understand that language.

It sucked, but the devil was in the details and not in just a "EVERYONE WAS BAAAAD!" was. I like quite a few people from the dub, Sir Percedal probably being my favorite and contrary to others belief, I though Nox's voice actor while different did a great job.

So where did it suck? Audio balance issues was a running problem. The script was really poorly thought out having actors have to rush their lines just to fit in the timeframe rather than rewriting their sentences to be a bit shorter. This made a lot of dialog run right into eachother making really confusing muddled sentences not seen since the old Speed Racer days. This also killed a lot of comedic timing. There was a weird need during fight scenes to add a lot of grunting. Kinda goes with the audio balance issues, while there was grunting in the original during fights, it was much lower than the music where as the dub made it way louder.

I could go on but you get the idea. There's just a lot of little stuff that went wrong that made it really eh. Just sadly the kinda stuff you'd find from sloppy old dubs before people learned how to properly dub animes.

There's yet some hope, but the DBZ stuff was pretty hamfisted. Packing all the characters in at once isn't too out there for an OVA, but it's not a good thing either.

At least Iop-brain cast away his power to be with family. They did go a bit overboard with the others, but I think Grovy relinquishing the power made for a great character development. If Ankama gets their writing up to snuff, they could try a Hercules or Theseus with the Godlings.

He made some piss-poor calls, but was ultimately right to try to save the meathead. As for his regal presence, he's pretty shit/absent. Wasn't there a point in the end of S2 that he had to grow into his role and assume it when ready? After the DBZ fight though, I hope he'll take a backseat for a while.

Probably my favorite parts due to the continuation of the theme of parenthood. The kids' ages are admittedly totally bullshit considering their skills (I'd expect them to be at least 7 or 8 to fall in line with typical kid shows), but that could just be Ankama trying to juggle every other characters' age progression and fudging a detail or two. Ultimately it didn't bother me much since they were cute as hell and didn't monopolize the important bits of plot. They did tread a bit too close to their parents' likenesses, but what else could they have been?

tl;dr writers got a little drunk, but the new characters are fine and the plot still has legs. OVAs not a shit.

For as much as people complain about the Wakfu dub, I don't think it's that bad. And more importantly I am glad I watched it dubbed on my first go through, because that's what I usually do when watching foreign animation. I prefer to be able to focus my eyes on the animation without being distracted by text, and since I am not multi-lingual I don't really get anything out of foreign language tracks anyway. If I like a show or movie I will watch it again with the original language track, but only really as a formality or a ritual.
