>dub for the campaign is pretty good
>dub for the actual show is complete shit
>Hear about the Kickstarter
>Decide to donate $35 to the cause, even though I've never really watched Wakfu, only because sometimes these sorts of companies need a little push (plus I was hoping it could possibly get on Toonami)
>Blu-ray reward comes in
>Hear that the dub isn't really good
>Decide to instead maybe see if I can find some good subs instead
>Still haven't watched Wakfu
The dub was 50/50 from what I saw.
I saw like 1 episode
And I''m not at all picky about dubs
I'll fucking murder my first born to watch something in english
Which wont be that hard because he has autism and makes me want to kill myself
Can we talk about Elaine and how she needed to show up more?
It happened. You can't ignore it. This is the franchise now.
I dunno, Ankama didn't do much justice to her character, so i would say it's not worth as long as they're writing.
I have to admit that it's still frustrating even if it's what Ankama wants. I suppose it could be much worse (i.e. DragonBall GT).
The fuck even happened to ankama anyway? They had a pretty good run with dofus and sidework, then they had somewhat of a good run during early wakfu, and the cartoon s01 was fantastic. s02 suffered but was still alright. Then everything went to shit - dofus was already being shat on, but it and wakfu got dropped a hiroshima and a nagasaki toward the specials' airing date, and the specials were pretty fucking shit.
Did they completely change management or something?
Still gonna post her.
I'd take her getting retconned into a secret eliatrope if it got her more screentime.
Not hiring an actual studio that does this kind of shit for a living and S1 at least having garbage sound mixing.
I thought the dub sucked and I say this as someone who has pretty low standards when it comes to enjoying animu/vidya dubs.
The blu-rays and Netflex have dual audio buddy boy, you can watch them with subs right now.
>Iop drenched in (presumably drenched) undergarments
Watch the fansub release. It's got the better script without the dumb name changes, and it has the proper speed. The blu-ray release was pitched down slightly because there's no 25fps blu-ray standard (only 24 and 50 fps). The only thing you're missing out on is the video quality, but it's good enough anyways.
The English dub was really quite bad because they didn't have a voice director and the English audio wasn't mixed well with the music and sound effects.
That being said, people who don't understand French or Spanish have no place saying how good those dubs are. It's impossible to tell how well a language is being spoken if you don't understand that language.
My webm-fu is weak but let me know how well this is.
Damn! Julith sure knows how to make an entrance
It shows. Indie made this face at least a hundred times in the series.
>Kerubim : "Do you recognize my nunchuk? If memory serves me right, it gave you a few nice scars."
>Julith : "No hard feelings, Kerubim. I think hey look rather good on me."
Classy, and also correct;
I'd say that in many cases it was bot neccesarily the actors themselves being the problem, in some in clearly was.
> implying season 2 was bad
I do not understand your people.
It sucked, but the devil was in the details and not in just a "EVERYONE WAS BAAAAD!" was. I like quite a few people from the dub, Sir Percedal probably being my favorite and contrary to others belief, I though Nox's voice actor while different did a great job.
So where did it suck? Audio balance issues was a running problem. The script was really poorly thought out having actors have to rush their lines just to fit in the timeframe rather than rewriting their sentences to be a bit shorter. This made a lot of dialog run right into eachother making really confusing muddled sentences not seen since the old Speed Racer days. This also killed a lot of comedic timing. There was a weird need during fight scenes to add a lot of grunting. Kinda goes with the audio balance issues, while there was grunting in the original during fights, it was much lower than the music where as the dub made it way louder.
I could go on but you get the idea. There's just a lot of little stuff that went wrong that made it really eh. Just sadly the kinda stuff you'd find from sloppy old dubs before people learned how to properly dub animes.
I'm still not understanding the hate for the OVAs. Sure, they write the lore into a corner and go all DBZ near the end, but they were entertaining and full of good animation and character interaction. At worst, they overstepped their influence on the main plot, but I wouldn't call them bad just for that.
Adamai a shit though. Can't wait to see how that goes down.
I especially enjoyed a bit in the episode prior to the trool fair where one of the cra guards say "actually our mission concerns cleome" as if just casually dropping why they're there. A moment later Eva asks why they're there and the same sentence plays again despite she talking to him the first time.
Again probably not a fault with the actors, even though the cra guard had the most nasal and shifty voice ever, but its bad work.
My reasons for hate is bad lore, everyone are demigods, too much fanservice characters which was good in comics but too bad in OVA .Yugo was shitty as character and also as king. And the reason number one for me... Tristepan family.Everyone includes this kids. Why kids? Too adult, too Mary Sue, too annoying and too clone of their parents.
There's yet some hope, but the DBZ stuff was pretty hamfisted. Packing all the characters in at once isn't too out there for an OVA, but it's not a good thing either.
>erryone a demigod
At least Iop-brain cast away his power to be with family. They did go a bit overboard with the others, but I think Grovy relinquishing the power made for a great character development. If Ankama gets their writing up to snuff, they could try a Hercules or Theseus with the Godlings.
French show, OVA edition. What did you expect?
>Yugo a shit
He made some piss-poor calls, but was ultimately right to try to save the meathead. As for his regal presence, he's pretty shit/absent. Wasn't there a point in the end of S2 that he had to grow into his role and assume it when ready? After the DBZ fight though, I hope he'll take a backseat for a while.
Probably my favorite parts due to the continuation of the theme of parenthood. The kids' ages are admittedly totally bullshit considering their skills (I'd expect them to be at least 7 or 8 to fall in line with typical kid shows), but that could just be Ankama trying to juggle every other characters' age progression and fudging a detail or two. Ultimately it didn't bother me much since they were cute as hell and didn't monopolize the important bits of plot. They did tread a bit too close to their parents' likenesses, but what else could they have been?
tl;dr writers got a little drunk, but the new characters are fine and the plot still has legs. OVAs not a shit.
They picked a shitty studio to save money and it backfired on them.
I mean, the actors weren't all that bad but it's obvious they were given zero direction for how to act and the audio mixing was beyond amateurish.
Really hope the Dofus movie gets better treatment when it's dubbed.
I really hope this gets released in the UK, blu-rays aren't out until June
Bluray for the 3 new OVAs, since I couldn't find them anywhere else.
Is this still flash animation? Can flash animation be this good.
I have a second Bluray box
It accidently shipped with a second disc 2 instead of disc 1. I had to get a correction and they just sent me a whole new box set. Now I don't want to throw out perfectly fine ALL OF THE OTHER EPISODES
It's more "if I'm not a kralove then how can you be my dad". She's insisting that she clearly is a kralove since blackink is her father. And the reason she doesn't have tentacles is naturally because they haven't grown out yet due to her age.
> bad lore
Ankama's lore is their strongest point by far.
>everyone are demigods
Shit story isn't bad lore. Lore is a longer-term property and permeates the world. Ogrest crying so much he's destroying the world over having lost his doll is lore. Pinpin being the current Iop is not (or not yet anyway).
>too much fanservice characters
>Yugo was shitty as character and also as king
Early yugo was a good character. It seems his shittiness as king (which has been pointed out by quilby as I recall) is going to come back into play during S03, probably in relation to adamai's path. I'll give you that, though, as he's painted, for now, as a hero and a real human bean.
>too Mary Sue
U wot m8?
>too clone of their parents.
They have completely different personality. The only resemblance is that they seem to have affinity with the same gods and they have the same hair colors.
ADAMAI DID NOTHING WRONG!
Definitely flash. Flash animation can be just as good as you make it, it's just that people typically use flash so that they can abuse tweening, thus making the animation look shit.
This seems like the best translation, merci m8
As far as the cartoons go Dofus is most likely the way forwards, as Tot said it's much easier to market an episodic show to a TV station that can be broadcast in any order as opposed to a serial that has to be broadcast in a particular for it to make sense so that's why it was so tough to find anyone to pre-purchase a third season of Wakfu
Hopefully Wakfu S3 being on Netflix and being aimed ata more mature audience gets some better numbers and can continue
Of course it won't work with those.
Please tell me more about your faggotry.
Your best bet is to check everything.
[papycha] ... and don't hold back on the pompoms, the scarfs or the quaquacks, that's what we'll sell most.
[joris] Hey, lila! Be careful, otherwise we'll never make it on time!
[lila] Oh, enough, no need to bark!
[tofu] Master Kerubim, I must convene* with you urgently. The ebony Dofus has been stolen!
[papycha] Argh! Don't tell me; it's not true!
[joris] Papycha? You're talking to someone papycha?
[papycha] Err, I was just having a nightmare, dear jojo! Continue setting up the shop, hehe!
[joris] Ah, all done! Yay, yay, yay, yay, yay, yay!
[joris] Lila, you're such a killjoy!
[lila] Oh come on, it's funny!**
[joris] No, it's not funny. We have a chance to meet Khan Karkasse, remember!? There's no way I'll miss that!**
[lila] Oh, enough, it's not like he's a God. He shits just like anyone else.
[joris] Yes, he IS a God!
[joris] And he DOESN'T shit like anyone else...
[joris] ... anyway!
[joris] We're done papycha, we can go to the stadium!
[papycha] Not now big boy. I have to do some shopping and I need you to man the shop.
[joris] What? And the player recruitment? You promised a hundred times that we'd go if we worked hard!...
[papycha]I know, I know, but I really have to go. I'm asking you a large favor, jojo.
[papycha] Behave yourselves, I'll be quick!
--End of part 1--
*I'm hearing "je dois vous prevenir d'urgence avec vous" which mean "I must urgently warn you with you", which, as reflected in this translation, is not valid french. I assume it said something like convene and I'm going deaf.
**It actually says "we can laugh!" "no, we'll laugh later", but the meaning of the former phrase is as translated above, the exchange cannot be translated naturally here.
>Kerub : "Don't skimp on pompoms, scarves and *yawn* ... and quaquacks. *yawn* Those will be our biggest sales.
>Joris : "Hey! Lilotte, be careful, or we'll never finish on time!"
>Lilotte : "Aw, c'mon! no need to bark!"
>Tofu messenger : "Master Kerubim, we must have an emergency talk! The Ebony Dofus has been stolen!"
>K : "What?!"
>Tm : [same message]
>K : "Don't tell me it's not true!" (mish-mash of two expressions intended)
>J : "Papycha? are you talking to someone, Papycha?"
>K : "Err, just a bad dream, my little Jojo. Keep setting up."
>J : "Ah, done! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" [...] "Lilotte you're really a pain!
>L : "Oh, come on, can't we joke a bit?"
>J : "No, we'll joke later! Right now we have an occasion to meet Khan Karkass, have you forgotten? I can't possibly miss that!"
>L : "Please, he's not a god or something, he poops like everyone else."
>J : "He IS a god! And NO, he doesn't poop like everyone else! So There!"
>J : "We've finished, papycha, we can go to the stadium!"
>K : "Not now big boy, I must go on an errand, and I need you to wathc over the shop."
>J : "WHAT?! But what about the player's recruitmnt session? You promised a hundred times that we would go if we worked hard."
>K : "I know, I know, but I really have to go, it's a real favour I'm asking you my little Jojo. Be good, I'll be as quick as possible."
[Khan Karkass] This will be your first lesson, wannabe throwers! Giving isn't enough, one must know how to receive!
[osa fan] My turn!
[KK] Err, what are you doing?
[osa] I'm ready to receive, my handsome stal-
[KK] Women and children? Guy... IS THAT YOUR SELECTION?
[joris] I didn't come to play, mister Karkass
[joris] I came to get your autograph on this Gobball!!
[KK] (Woah, that rascal hits hard!)
[KK] Hey, uglies, I'll hire whoever can steal the ball from the brat!
[osa] This is the chance of my life!
[KK] Pass, brat!
--End of part 2--
Aw c'mon is better than Oh, enough.
Just a bad dream is better than I was just having a nightmare. My little jojo is more accurate than dear jojo. You're such a pain would be best instead of you're really a pain or you're such a killjoy.
I like "can't we joke a bit", should be "can't we joke around a bit" I think.
I can't possibly miss that is better than There's no way I'll miss that.
Please should be Aw, c'mon again.
I think the rest of >>79066653 is better.
>Bakara : "Kerubim! protect the kids, Julith is coming."
>B : "You, don't move from here!"
>Khan Karkass : "Hmmm, you seem to know what you want."
>Kerubim : "Kids, stay hidden."
>K : "Julith! You are not welcome here!"
>Julith : "Kerubim Crepin? Truely, coincidences follow each other."
>B : " For Bonta!"
>J : "Is that all? Jahash would be disappointed."
>B : "Don't speak his name, you traitor! You used him!"
>J : "You poor little idiot who's never known love, what could you possibly know about the feelings I have for your brother?"
>K : "Bakara! Luis, get me the 1001 claws armor!"
>Luis : "Right on, boss!"
>K : "Do you recognize my nunchuk? If memory serves me right, it gave you a few nice scars."
>J : "No hard feelings, Kerubim. I think hey look rather good on me."
As a side note, I think we can safely come to the conclusion that Julith and Jahash are Joris' real parents. In an other preview, Khan (talking to Joris) called Bakara "your auntie".
You guys the real MVPs, frogbros
Don't move from here -> stay here
Coincidences follow each other -> I would leave it as "what a coincidence" even though it loses part of the implication.
poor little idiot -> pathetic little fool
my nunchuck -> this nunchuck
if memory servers me right -> I seem to recall
a few -> some
s'entretenir avec is used often in regular speech. Of course, given that kerubim is addressed as "master kerubim" (which is funny, clearly it should be master crepin), maybe you're right. There weren't many markers beyond that.
So you are saying they commuted incest and had Joris? Either way I wouldn't scream wolf regarding that as aunt, while strictly speaking is a relative it can be used for other women as well that are significantly older ss well. Its not used as such very often in real life as far as I know by you see it here and there in cartoons.
Look closely at this pic
>Sexualizing the Lilotte
Now you've made Jojo sad. Thanks for nothing you perv' !
So is anything censored from the original show in the Netflix release?
I've been meaning to watch this, but I know French animation can be a lot more liberal than American and I don't want to miss out on anything just to hear it in English.
The nipple scenes are still in the Netflix releases so presumably everything else is alright, although some of the suggestive puns were lost in translation with the dub (from which the Netflix subs are derived from)
I will fap furiously to all the Lilotte porn and there is nothing you can do, anon.
For as much as people complain about the Wakfu dub, I don't think it's that bad. And more importantly I am glad I watched it dubbed on my first go through, because that's what I usually do when watching foreign animation. I prefer to be able to focus my eyes on the animation without being distracted by text, and since I am not multi-lingual I don't really get anything out of foreign language tracks anyway. If I like a show or movie I will watch it again with the original language track, but only really as a formality or a ritual.
I hear a lot of people online call him Grovy but I've never heard him called that in the English version, where they only call him Percedal or Dally. It's really confusing when I read about the show.
getting big goofy movie vibes from her
>Percedal or Dally
Why the fuck would they do this? Why even change it from the original French if you're going to change it to random nonsense? Sadlygrove or Grovy is an attempt to translate the original French which works pretty well. Percedal is just bullshit. Fuck that dub.
I'm not sure if they fixed the Netflix version or not but it originally had a problem with the sound and music being way too quiet compared to the voices. They fixed it on the Blu-Ray though, which is good because I paid for it.
His name in French is "Tristepin de Percedal". Tristepin translates literally to "sadpine", sounds like shit, and has no useful diminutive ("pinepine" would be even more of a mouthfull than sadpine, and doubling is typically not used in English for petnames except in rare cases like jojo). The subs chose sadlygrove and grovy because of that, but the dubs chose percedal and dally.
Her animation reminds me of Goof troop at times
Also, there's a way to get better res files from the server than simply right-click & save, but I can't remember how
If you had a Scrarier gf, would you have to punish her to keep her pain hunger low?
>The dub for the series was 100% okay.
Fuck you, they made my favorite character sound like shit
this. Friendly reminder that Ankama still hasn't completed the kickstarter rewards.
I can't draw myself, so I have to settle for the scraps of others.
English is my first language, though?
It's called Wharf syndrome. You have one guy who you show off being unbelievably strong getting his ass kicked to show how powerful the current bad guy is. See also Vegeta and Hulk.
>Last thing i saw was the movie
I don't think you saw that.
/trash/ had a DOfus quest but it dissappeared, I only have this.
Anyone else caught some?
Oh, I was just confused since those 3 specials aren't really a movie.
yeah i wouldn't surprised if season 3 is Grovy coming to terms with the fact he's done adventuring and passing the torch on.
It's honestly cute and all, but it's, i dunno, safe? We do have to see how the children shape up as characters to really judge them.
Fan-colored production still. From the official site. The girl is probably the one who accompanied the Osamodas king in season 2.
Just download the rips
I agree, looking at her makes my heart skip a beat.
it's causing massive problems for me, my chest hurts yet I can't stop looking, plz send help
i hope they do it just because of how mad the shippers would be
Amalia is the best, she just needs to slut it up in season 3 and demand Yugo accept an open relationship. Then she'd be perfect.
You know I think that if future animated content is made it might be best for it to be either dofus centric or revolving around a new-ish cast as central figures. Not because the current is bad, but to freshen it up and explore new venues of the world since the group might not lend itself well to certain plots.
Or we go with divine duality.
I thought it was deleted too
>>>/trash/ a shit
"Ooooh, Yugo, I didn't see you there!"
"Hag og, godda fibbish fibst."
"Wait, why are you crying? I thought we agreed...?"
I remember I stopped watching S2 after the singing episode because that episode was just so excruciatingly bad. Did it ever get worse than that or can I at least watch the rest without having to relive an episode that horrible?
I was more a YxA shipper back when it could have been more of a friends with benefits thing. Yugo got too angsty with it in the ovas and when the characters acted as though it was obvious, I scratched my head, because it wasn't really telegraphed in the main series. I know Tot said he would get a "romance" prior to the ova release, but this was more like one-sided angsting and no real interaction between the two.
Yikes. Well I guess it's for the better then. Might work for great character developement down the road
and I have to admit that pairing Yugo and Amalia always came off as pair the spares to me, which I don't like as a general rule
>think of other amalgam names
>look for tampon
>wait, what is tampon in french?
>ah... so what is vagina? puffer?
>remember basic conjugation shit from one year of french
'je mets un buffer dans mon vagin'.
There was a point to this post. I lost it.
>Eva and Tristepin have had two kids together
>Amalia has to put up with the fact she's never going to get any from Yugo unless she literally rips off her clothes and hops onto his dick
>Yugo gets a message saying Amalia wants to meet him in an aristocratic communion between their two kingdoms
>he doesn't know what the heck any of that means, but he enjoys her company
>gets to the Sadida kingdom throne room, it's very quiet
>he's unsure where everyone is
>there's a voice that perks up from behind him, "Yuuuugoooo~"
>He turns to see Amalia, dressed in what appeared to be an adaptation of leaves, twigs, and rods into lingerie
>they leave even less to the imagination than normal Sadida attire
>Yugo's obviously stunned seeing her swaying her hips as she approaches him
>"I've waited long enough for you to make your moves on me. Tonight, we'll become man and woman, together..."
I wish, though I imagine Cleo going after the more developed ladies.
We will only have 1 more weekend Wakfu thread before the movie comes out.
It comes out next Tuesday.
I hope nobody tries to spoil it.
Wait, but in the OVA Yugo confessed he has feelings for Amalia, he just doesn't think it will work.
That at least means it's not just a hint here or there to serve as shipbait, they're actually bringing up the concept.
Isn't anyone else bothered that there aren't a lot of Ouginaks and pig people in the trailers? It's like Lilotte is the last of her kind. I know there's still Indie but I doubt he's gonna be showing up in the movie.
>I hope nobody tries to spoil it
This is why I hope it comes out in the UK, if we go to those threads having not seen it we will inevitably have it spoiled (probably not maliciously, but still spoiled)
Already wrote about it! I did age up Elaine slightly however
The Dofus MMO is working on it's 3.0 version. It'll be slightly more 3D, kinda like Wakfu I guess.
I play Wakfu from time to time (but on the spanish server). I don't play Dofus because I don't play enough to justify paying for it, but when Dofus Touch arrives I'll be there for sure.
Guys, the URLs from >>79061504 now point toward older previews (Khan reviewing the recruits, Joris Bakara and Khan discovering a Pupuces' nest, and Khan holding a rock with his legs).
Seems these leaks weren't supposed to be released this early.
Time to save the backup download URLs from >>79066156
Dofus youtuber who went to the Dofus Days, he posted the picture on his twitter and a link with all the info fom Dofus Days.
I forgot to add he mentions in the video that the Ouginak class is coming this year with a gameplay based around chasing (although that had already been revealed by another youtuber). No official pictures of them nonetheless.
Dofus Touch will start with an older Dofus version (one from around more than a year ago, it didn't have eliotropes yet) but they'll try to take it to the newest patch as soon as possible.
So it's fair to assume it'll get to Dofus 3.0 sooner or later, but I'm not sure. If it doesn't, that means Dofus Touch will stop getting new stuff when it reaches the lastest Dofus patch before 3.0
Yes, Dofus Touch and Dofus won't be compatible, so you can't get the characters from one game to the other. Right now only french servers are confirmed, but there'll probably be at least one international one, or so I hope.
I really like Osa, but I don't play it anymore since neither Gobgob nor invocation are any good as dragon-invocation and I'm not interested in Symbiosis.
I usually play Elio since I like messing with portals, or air-fire Sacrier. Sram were cool after their revamp too, and Huppermages are looking really good, except nobody knows how to play them yet and they'll probably need a nerf/buff soon, but nobody knows which one of those.
This is the worst thing anyone had done to Moffete, worse than what the diaperfags did.

Here's the art for the new Joris Krosmaster card used in the Krosmaster Arena 2.0 pack (which contains various characters from the movie)
Warning: it contains spoilers.
But the kind that makes you wish you could watch the movie right now
Undertale. All you really need to know is that it's the new thing to hate. I can only assume the people replying to it are doing so jokingly.
AKA gorilla: the character
Here are different designs they tried for Bakara
Heads up, if you watched the videos here
They have changed, for some reason. The intro with the shop is gone, and we have a new scene in a cave. We also have a different scene set on the boufbowl pitch. Anyone have the ability to translate?
I understand they're not everyone's thing but I like them, they're silly fun and a little /sp/ in my /co/ is always great
>Around 13 episodes
>Spend three of them on boufball
If this happens I'm going back to Dofus and subscribing for at least 3 months.
Finally the models look good!, in 1.29 each class looked different but in 2.0 they all look like a template with some added parts.
I wish they'd ditch flash tough.
