I want to start reading spider-man.
Where should I start?
>>79044848
Start by picking up a Spider-Man comic and reading it.
Put your finger in your bum and then sniff it.
>>79044848
Find a spider somewhere in your house and ask for his advice
Did you even try to figure this out yourself?
You guys are assholes. I don't love spider-man so I don't have suggestions.

Ditko run, Stern and JMS are a good start.
Also conway and stuff from matteis.
Good luck friend

That image is confusing, why would I be skipping 400+ issues?
>>79044848
Try using google, fucktard.
>>79045046
Maybe because 50s and 60s batman is almost impossible to enjoy in your mid 20s. 40s is honestly more true to character.
reading list thread? i'm pretty well along in marvel (except x-men my next and last big marvel reading project) but have read almost no DC.
>Not starting from the very beginning
Maximum pleb

Amazing Fantasy 15
>>79044848
JMS's run
>>79044848
Anything published before 1990. It's where the masterworks are.
No, seriously.

i'll fookin rek u m8.
Classic Spider-Man:
Amazing Fantasy #15 - Amazing Spider-Man #40 (Vol1)
Pre-OMD
Amazing Spider-Man #442 (Vol2 #1) - Amazing Spider-Man #543
Post OMD:
Amazing Spider-Man #558 - Amazing Spider-Man #700
Superior:
Superior Spider-Man #1 - Superior Spider-Man #31
Just a short list I made. Of course I missed a lot of issues but here's a start. IMO you can skip MARVELNOW Amazing Spider-Man since it's worthless, except MAYBE for the Spider-Verse event.
So far the ANAD is going decent. Don't forget to check out:
-Scarlet Spider
-John Romita's Spider-Man
-Superior Foes Of Spider-Man

Amazing Fantasy 15
>>79046440
If you're interested, check out Ultimate Spider-Man
>>79044957
I don't know, I mean, >>79044871 is honestly the best advice. There are enough stories that you can just kind of pick up any old book and read from there.
Read Ultimate Spider-Man #1-160 or whatever.
>>79044848
Don't.
Read Ditko's original run. Literal 10/10 comic.
>>79044957
Dark Victory is a sequel to Long Halloween. What is going on here?
>>79044957
> Batman 101
> has Dark Victory before Long Halloween which is listed as if it's part of Year One
> has Batman Hush
> buncha single issues including the first All Star that really goes no where
Gee. Like most college courses, it's full of shit and wrong information.
No. Really. This is one of the worst reading lists I have ever seen posted here.
Did DC make this one themselves? I'd believe it.
>>79045568
You are full of shit.
Don't start there.
You'd miss this amazing story!
tfw you realize you've bought more horrible Spider-man comics than good ones
>>79044848
Try from the beginning there is a reason spidy very quickly became the flagship character for marvel.
Spider-man doesn't really have deep continuity-laden stories. here are some good Spidey books
Spider-man: Blue
Ultimate Spider-man until Miles
Kraven's Last Hunt
Death of the Stacys
I don't really know spider-man comics too well, but I've seen from storytimes that starting the very beginning isn't too bad an idea. Anyway here's a /co/ recommendation pic I found here- http://comraderecs.tumblr.com/.
