You know what? I kinda like Chloe and season 10 so far. Maybe a solid 8/10.
I think it's a good way to revitalize a show and not doing it by adding more anti-fairy gang wars . Just scrap the anti fairies entirely and bring back the slice-of-element back to the show.
Also bring back Mark the Alien.
Chloe is the quintessential example of how NOT to go a GRRL POWAH character. Timmy is interesting because he's flawed. He's awkward, wimpy, and a loser. Chloe's "flaw" is that she's so perfect she intimidates people, so not a flaw. She exists solely to try and snag some demographic points, and some merchandising options.
Funny thing is, why even share the Fairies, so Cosmo and Wanda are married, they could easily give each of them to each kid. Probably has some bullshit about that written in DA RULES somewhere.
It's not in the rules, it's just that Cosmo and Wanda function together as one fairy. Then again, that was old continuity and this new continuity is a whole other monster with regards to the old rules.
OK....I guess I can ask in this thread....
So I've avoided the live action movie for years. I saw that Drake Bell and Trina from Victorious were in it....and it immediately didn't look good so I avoided it. Didn't want to ruin my memories of the original cartoon.
Scale of 1 to 10....1 being terrible....how bad was it?
Please rate from the perspective of a fan who enjoyed the show from its debut and therefore would be more hesitant to trash the movie
Because that would mean someone would get just Cosmo. He's shown plenty of incompetence granting wishes even with Wanda with him, I don't think doing something to separate him from her is a good idea.
It was really really bad
Like, not awful that it makes you angry
You just realize how bad all the jokes are, and then you think back to when it used to be decent humor, and then you get a little bit disappointed with how humor that was based in the 00s hasn't been able to stay funny
It's kinda sad that Wanda is now in the "mothering a special needs adult" role.
But it's far superior to the "they actively hate each other" role that the seasons right before Poof had. Man, Seasons 4 and 5 deserve more hate than 6 and 7.
you know what's really 90s kid youtuber shit?
saying you don't care about other people's opinions and then criticizing their opinions
I get what you're saying by "90s kid", but the show came out in 2001
It's an actual criticism of what they are doing in the show
They jumped the shark at least 3 times, they can't keep re-adding old elements to the show and expecting it to work
If you actually watched the episode, you'd see that the reused the same joke multiple times
The one where a character says one thing and another character jumps in and says the opposite
"I don't want to hear anymore about the new girl"
"WE LOVE THE NEW GIRL"
"I'll be your friend"
"ACTUALLY YOU SAID THE OPPOSITE"
And why DO you care about people commenting as if they were some millennial 90s kid?
That escalated amusingly.
That thing you mentioned is something the show always did. Its fine if you're not into the show's humour anymore but jumping the shark isn't about you falling out of love with the show's humour.
And your previous comment wasnt criticism This one is closer to that.
I loved chloe, she was actually quite fun to watch, I enjoyed the fact that she is a huge tryhard, but then again, I don't think the character is bad, I think the episode itself is bad, I don't remember laughing even one in the episode, the humor is quite mediocre, and oh god, did they have to use the duck face joke so many times?
> Grow Up, Timmy Turner!
I give it a solid 6/10
> Live action Christmas Special.
I give it a 5/10, if only for Crocker's part.
> Third "vacation" movie
....That one is better left forgotten.
>That thing you mentioned is something the show always did
Yeah, and retelling the same joke over and over again isn't funny
> Its fine if you're not into the show's humour anymore but jumping the shark isn't about you falling out of love with the show's humour
the baby, the dog, and now chloe was what I was referring to
Just because I wasn't specific about my criticism doesn't mean that it wasn't criticism
Having no weakness is a weakness, it means you will never be able to grow as a person.
WHAT THE FUCK
WHY DO THEY KEEP ADDING MORE AND MORE TO THE SHOW
ITS LIKE WATCHING SOMEONE BATHE IN A TUB FILLED WITH THE GOOP OF A MELTED CORPSE
just waiting for another Britney Britney episode
The episode "Timmy's Secret Wish!" retconned Mr. Crocker's original backstory to make sure godchildren lose their fairies by a certain age. Timmy made a wish to stop time for 50 years to avoid losing Cosmo and Wanda.
Also, the sidecast has been whittled down to the point that Chester and AJ no longer have voice actors, Vicky only has a few voiced appearances per season, and Mr. Crocker and his mom have rose to become more prominent characters.
Oh, and your favorite waifus have been left behind for newer waifus.
>The episode "Timmy's Secret Wish!" retconned Mr. Crocker's original backstory to make sure godchildren lose their fairies by a certain age. Timmy made a wish to stop time for 50 years to avoid losing Cosmo and Wanda.
so its basically "status quo" the series even moreso than before?
>Also, the sidecast has been whittled down to the point that Chester and AJ no longer have voice actors, Vicky only has a few voiced appearances per season, and Mr. Crocker and his mom have rose to become more prominent characters.
the show sounds like shit now
just wake me when Chloe transforms into something
