Strength relative to weight doesn't mean jack. I am stronger than a dung beetle.

If there was a dung beetle my weight, it would collapse under its own mass because it has no internal skeleton.

A 1000ft tall man would liquify his shins if he took a single step (probably would collapse before he could try though).

Humans are also mainly only weaker than similarly sized animals because of the way our muscles are arranged, not so much the muscles themselves (we sacrifice leverage for fine movement).

what it would do is have difficulty lifting itself, as its muscles are hydraulic in nature and those don't scale well. plus it wouldnt be able to get enough oxygen

Well, apart from agreeing with me on the scale thing... your logic is off.

What does density have to do with it? I said my weight (mass). I didn't say my size. Leverage effects (lifting, supporting body weight, movement) would all multiply.

At best that beetle would be stuck in one place. At worst all of its systems would start to fail (lungs collapsing, etc) due to scaling issues.

I mean, everyone knows most of the shit is ridiculous, and it makes it entertaining. Yet we have people like OP who repeat it and it becomes fact for the average person.

I've taught in a few schools, and you do hear in elementary classes things like "scientists don't know how bees fly, it defies aviation laws" or "a beetle weighing as much as a human could lift 54 tons".

Comics are nonsense, but you love them for it. People like the OP who start out pretending that bullshit is fact... that's what gets me.
