Okay seriously what the hell is happening? I'm used to this from big bang theory, but now mofdern family is doing it?
goddamn it Marvel don't you know deals with Mephisto never go well?
my sister was watching this shitty abc family show called the fosters about lesbians that adopt a bunch of kids
one of the kids was playing a bad looking star wars game on his ipad and i pointed out that it was because disney owns both these properties
my sister didnt give a shit
Then where does this take place?
This show airs on ABC, which is owned by Disney; the owner of Marvel. Agent's of Shield also airs on the same network. cross promotional synergy was inevitable.
Also this is your own fault for watching shitty sitcoms
It's always weird when I remember he's in the MCU. As a canon character even.
no they don't. fuck i still remember that one iidiotic episode where penny walks into a LCS and all the males in there lose the power of speech and start drooling.
fuck the hell off, i did that like once.
why doesn't DC sell out too then. i mean these are multi million audiences, i'm sure there are some idiots that will see a ms.marvel poster in alex's room and buy the comic. otherwise why even advertise?
They've been doing it for like 8 years.
Have you never heard of Big Bang Theory? It's on a warner owned network so they show is filled with nothing but constant dc references. The only superheroes they talk about are DC superheroes. The main character is always wearing a Flash t-shirt. The LCS they shop at exclusively stocks DC ans Vertigo, nothing else, with the walls plastered top to bottom with DC posters and DC action figures on all of the characters' shelves.
And they've been doing it for 8 years now.
One Ms. Marvel poster doesn't remotely compare to the sheer amount of DC stuff in Big Bang Theory.
Ah, well I stand corrected then. From the episodes I've seen, I only remember it being a nonstop stream of DC references and shout-outs. Which I thought was shitty since it equated DC fans to being total fucking spergs since the main characters of BBT are awful.
well, a lot of bbt is pre-avengers movie, when marvel was all literally whos except spidey. of course they will refernce batman and superman and flash and GL and not iron who or ant-guy
eh. well, this happened back in 1967. before warner was Warner brothers even. DC was national publications at that point as well.
Disney, was also not the monster it is now then either.
1972- split/renamed Warner communications.
1979- had a hand in creating nickolodeon, mtv, TMC. but solid it to viacom.
1990-Time Warner merger.
Time warner is HBO, new line cinema, turner broadcasting, the CW, cartoon network, WB, boomarang, Adult swim, CNN, DC comics, WBanimation, castlerock, netherrealm, and hanna-barbera.
Time warner is #3 now.
Disney #1. Comcast#2(nbc/universal)
eh, it's just a failed attempt, no biggie. my real issue here is equating some major scientific fields with comic book culture.
>this guy reads the flash so of course he knows all about general relativity and the implications of lightspeed travel!
i read comics, and guess what, i don't know shit about math.
you're a better man than me for keeping track
Comics are mainstream now i guess. In the sense that you can mention Iron Man and no one will stare at you blankly. Mention Demon in a Bottle though and you're back to square one. It's the age of pretending to like comics because movies are made of them
Oh my god you guys, a sitcom placed a prop that makes sense to exist in a character's room, this means something!
i see what youre saying except
>it makes sense to exist
how so? alex has not once shown any at all interesgt or knowledge of comic books. or is the fact she's smart and "nerdy" enough to assume she's reading comics?
That's not really true. It's the age of liking comic characters, but not comics as a medium. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I like Fight Club, for example, but I've never read the book it's based off of.
