Although the comedy has not been topnotch, the relations between character have been handled pretty well. I doubt they'll go for an clicke path, since it's more likely the characters will make decisions on their own after they learn and grow. If Jarco happens and it doesn't last long, I doubt it will end due to Star meddling between Marco and Jackie. If it ends, it's more likely it'll be due to Marco or Jackie (or both) realising they aren't meant for each other as lovers and decide to remain just friends.

But of course, "if" Jarco happens. Anything could happen on season 2. Anything...

Lets say Star and Marco's visit at St. Olga was not first time someone tried to rescue a princess send there. What if there was another one, many years ago, by the lover or friend or even faithful servant of the princess of another kingdom. But this one failed and unlucky guy got caught. The show still got me confused with the whole definition of "dimension". My knowledge in physics is limited, but as far as I remember, in one universe you can have multiple dimensions contained within, which would make your premise viable. On the other hand, I'm not certain on how "flexible" the definition of a "dimension" could allow they way Star and Marco jump from dimension to dimension. I mean, sometimes I get the feeling they're jumping from universe to universe. But if the latter is this situation, then it'd be a metter of time before they meet alternate versions of themselves, and I don't think they're going for that route in the show... unless we take "that thing under the rug" as possible alternate Star.Or maybe it's just Blar.
Now, my knowledge is very likely to be wrong and flawed, so don't take my statement as serious.

The show seems to treat "dimensions" more like planets than anything. Mewni is just called a kingdom in the first episode, yet according to the creator it refers to Star's entire dimension. And in the multiverse metallurgy book at St. Olga's both the "Mewni" and "Earth Dimension" are listed. So maybe dimensions are just named after the most notable or only planet they contain?

I don't think they're going for the infinite alternate universes thing either, if only because wouldn't that mean somewhere there's one or many versions of Ludo or some other villain who actually managed to take the wand and fuck over the multiverse?
