>Show is almost 26 years old
>Probably won't be getting a blu-ray/HD remaster anytime soon
Is this the beginning of a new epic meme?
Fun fact: Tiny Toons was partially animated in Japan so it has the "dirty film" look of 90's animus. Just look at the intro.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EiEX4tmCfY
>>79032040
No, I just want a HD/4K remaster as the show was shot on 35MM film.
>>79032135
How about being grateful it's even on DVD, huh?
>>79029832
It's pretty bad so who cares.
>>79032353
>be grateful for being on outdated media
i don't particularly care for this show myself but i don't think what he's asking is unreasonable in this day and age. especially with something that was apparently more than popular to this day
>>79032374
It's not.
>>79032393
Also 35MM film has a higher resolution then Blu-Ray anyway.
>>79029832
I dont think its possible due to the actual episodes being mastered on digibetas instead of film like anime did before the digital anime era.
I think the TMS episodes got a remaster when the DVDs were relased, but not that it matters, since instead of using the source masters, Warner just transfered to an interleaced compressed master.
what's worse is that the Vacation movie was a straight up VHS to DVD conversion.
If they really wanted to do an actual remaster of the show, they would need to basically re-construct the episodes from film elements, liek full prints or film trims, remaster those with all the process, and recreate the ending credits digitally, cause those were mastered originally at 60fps 240i via analogue video, but the rest of the footage was mostly film printed, including title cards and the opening.
to that, add the fact that sadly, most of the film materials for the non TMS episodes are most likely, non-existente anymore due to most likelye receiving beta tape masters instead of film, less likely with TMS tough.
>>79033104
The show was mastered on 35MM film and Warners has every master of the series.
Is this a old cartoons that need to be remastered for bluray thread?
I got some.
Spongebob's early seasons, which would itself be the gateway to the rest of the series
Some of the old Scooby Doo cartoons, like, where are you.
>>79033573
Yes, but mainly Tiny Toons.
This show had some horrid animation.
>>79033573
The first season of Sponebob got an HQ re-release on iTunes. It's 15+ gigs of high definition. The first season was cell animated, so it's remastered from the the original film reels I believe.Have 0 idea if they'll do the other seasons; if they were colored digitally, is that harder to remaster?

Hard to believe these characters haven't made a comeback. There was a time they were everywhere.
Not even "Back In Action" had cameos of Tiny Toons, and that movie had references to almost everything.

>>79033419
Nope they didnt, how do you explain the ending credits of every episode which were video anaologue?
Even then, the non TMS material looks significally worse.

I doubt it. That was only 1 episode, anyways. A damn good episode that it would be a shame to ship without, but even so.

well, it is that fallout that girls fashion had in the early 90's, still clinging to the 80's.
anyone remember that 80's fashion? it was pretty weird looking back on it now, nothing like it will ever surface again.
stupid question:
but what was the deal with Elmira? like.. the producers had a HUGE hard-on for her... which is sad and sick to know...
>>79045501
Depends on the episode. Some are too topical, some are animated REALLY lazily. But there are gems in there.
>>79035805
Goddamn. Cartoon characters used to have a lot of expressive gestures to go along with their dialogue. Dat animation quality.
>>79045580
>but what was the deal with Elmira?
she's the best character. Why don't you like her?
> yfw you remember Elmyra was acting like a straight-up thirsty ho during that one episode when she dated Montana Max
>>79045501
It used a lot of pop culture references. Most shows like this don't age well.
>>79045837
To someone who was alive during the era, or even vaguely aware of it, it's not a big deal. Most of the references are pretty surface-level. Like Rosanne Barr or Jack Nicholson.
>>79045798
>mfw she actually calls him daddy at one point
Its so obnoxious because they sell the whole series on these cheap single-disc volume DVD's. This show deserves way more than that.
>>79035296

>>79045938
to which kids now wouldn't get at ALL
so its that kinda show you can't show your kids and go "yeah, its so good" when pop culture of the time ruins it a good deal.
i always loved that episode where pucky and hampton are working that hollywood restaurant
then i realized, its almost like that old loony tunes short with all the celebs from the 30's and 40's
now IM the old man with my celebs that kids don't know, like micheal keaton and rosanne barr
>>79046151
>to which kids now wouldn't get at ALL
It may lose the instant recognizability of the reference, but it's fascinating to watch. Tell me you don't think those Loony Toons cameos aren't oddly charming. To be honest, as a kid I didn't even get all the celebrity cameos in TT. But I still laughed for how cartoonishly caricatured they were.
Besides, someone like Michael Keaton walking in is only a minor joke in these episodes. There's still plenty of timeless slapstick and wordplay wrapped around it.
>>79046103
the art style of TT was terrible
>>79046757
Eddie drew these
>>79046757
Somebody only watched Kennedy Cartoons episodes.
>>79046151
You don't have to get the pop culture references to enjoy the show or find it funny
Look at the Animaniacs cartoon with the character based on Jerry Lewis. I didn't know who the hell Jerry Lewis was, but I still laughed my ass off whenever the character said shit like "Nice LAAAADYYYY! Please don't do the bag hit on my head thing...it causes the pain and the smarts and the owie"
>>79040471
>>79040486
Is this from a particular episode, or a scrapped version of the character?

Says pre-production. So scrapped.

>>79045580
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pinky,_Elmyra_%26_the_Brain
>Warner Bros. network executives had wanted Pinky and the Brain to be part of a sitcom "more like The Simpsons".[1] In a press release, Warner called the move "a fresh approach to popular favorites Pinky and The Brain."[2] The idea, however, was panned by animation fans[citation needed] and even the producers of the series.[3] Writer and producer Peter Hastings had even left Warner Bros. for Disney over the decision.[3]
>Dissatisfaction with Warner Bros. decision to change Pinky and the Brain even showed up in the actual cartoons of Pinky and the Brain and Pinky, Elmyra & the Brain. On Pinky and the Brain, the last script Peter Hastings wrote before leaving Warner Bros. was the cartoon "You'll Never Eat Food Pellets In This Town Again", in which the demise of Pinky and the Brain are caused by network decisions to change the show.[3]
>Pinky, Elmyra & the Brain had also shown dissatisfaction towards Warner Bros.; the theme song for the series had said: "Now Pinky and the Brain share a new domain. It's what the network wants, why bother to complain?", referring to the means of executive meddling. A clip during the theme showed Pinky and The Brain getting kicked out of the Warner Bros. office during that line. Furthermore, a spoken line by The Brain towards the end of the theme adds "I deeply resent this."
>>79046103
Also Yoshinobu Michihata worked on it.
>>79046034
2 disk, the series is complete on DVD but is still missing the 2 specials and needs a Blu-Ray/4K release.
>>79044510
CardCaptor Sakura did the same thing, when the Blu-Ray came they redid the credits, if a Blu-Ray does show up they better credits the Japanese animators & subcontractors (like Ajia-Do & Magic Bus) this time due to more room.

>tfw no cute female tasmanian devil in it
>>79052766
They were also both "western villain" cliches. Sam the gun toting bandit and Max the Texas tycoon.
>>79029832
Doesn't hd remastering take serious time and money, especially when the source material/footage is made for 480p, so standard dvd is the best they can do, short of redrawing ala DBZ Kai (which was only possible because of anime's sweatshop-style working conditions). I think the best we can get is JUST a dvd release, or a blu-ray with the contents of the 3 dvd releases on one disc...with the vacation specials thrown in, for completion's sake.
>>79035296
Cuz Babs is hot as shit, and voiced by Tress. That's how the series kept MY interest as a teen. Hell, same goes for Road Rovers. Just get Tress to voice a moderately attractive female character, through in some sultry lines for her, and I'm there.
>>79035321
The show is good for many reasons beyond that, though after a while, you WILL start to develop an attraction to either Babs or Fifi. You won't even see it coming, due to them acting so human, and sounding so good. Voice actresses been making people fall for animals for like 50 years, son.
>>79065768
seems like they actually put some thought in the human characters instead of just making them younger pastel colored versions of their mentors
>>79066025
I think it was necessity. It's easy to go "they're both rabbits" or "they're both ducks". With the human characters, they actually had to draw character parallels.
>>79029832
it's stuck in the 90's like most wb stuff

>it's from the 90s, it doesn't need a remaster!
