Hey /co/, let's check out one of Robert Kirkman's most underrated works, starring someone you may have already seen in Invincible. If you like alien weapons, the classic tale of the random nobody who has a great destiny forced upon them, family shenanigans and cute alien girls, then this is for you!
It's pretty enjoyable, and depending on the response I may storytime the sequel series as well.
If it makes you feel any better he does get an upgrade down the line (not in this series though)
When you put it like that, shit got pretty crazy later on.
sad to find out in a backhanded way in one of the invincible books that he and the alien girl dont work out. all for a joke about their plumbing not being compatiblenot sure if spoiler for way down the line
That little plot point does get resolved later on.
It's pretty lighthearted in general, although the other volumes are darker.
I wouldn't say it gets into grimdark territory, just that the stakes are higher. Way more violent though, you can tell they were following the Invincible blueprint.
There's some sexual stuff too
Fun fact: these last two issues came out 7 years after the original miniseries as a backup feature in Invincible.
The digital volume shows him fighting alternate Invincibles during the Invincible War. That's about it.
If there was an 's' in the world right before it, is correct spelling even necessary? Who's tupider the people the people who waste time on an extra uneeded letters or the people that cut to the chase? Probably saved on ink too.
I'm so fucking pissed off that they didn't end up together. It's just one of those things that made me stop reading Invincible.
I don't care if your genitals are incompatible, you've both got working mouths and digits!
It's in Vol 2. We'll check that out tomorrow.
I take it back, I would absolutely bet the larger government has known they're here the whole time but hasn't done shit because it's not worth interfering.
Local government doesn't give a shit as long as they've got gold.
Man, I missed this title so fucking much. Back in the initial Image push that this was part of (Invincible, Venture, Tech Jacket and Dominion), this was my favorite.
And of course it ended on a huge fucking cliffhanger.
Yes and yes. I'm pretty sure Vol 2 takes place some time after the Viltrumite War and before Robot's takeover.
Anyway, that's it for today. Come back tomorrow for the digital volume and the beginning of Vol 2, where Joe Keatinge and Khary Randolph take over!
>Better to end early than to meander and go nowhere.
I'm talking about the end of issue six, which was literally NOT an ending.
>What ended it? Kirkman decided he didn't want to do more with it or they just discontinued it?
The original series (issues 1-6) was cancelled due to lack of sales. Kirkman didn't get to do a continuation until years later.
I love how his father is just a total bro.
