TAKE COVER, SHITS ABOUT TO GO DOWN.
>cockroach on the table
That can't be sanitary.
Not that the hygiene of any of them will be particularly good by now, not even counting the aggressively contagious mutagenic virus they carry.
>another month or two of holly drama bullshit
just fucking kill her off already, im sick of this shit
>all five kirbee fans desperately clamor for aaron to make wally break character and give up on holly for kirbee
>aaron smiles and continues with the story he has been working towards since 2012
If I was in Wally's shoes, I would be scared shitless.
>aggressively contagious mutagenic virus they carry.
They really went back in time
They are patients 0 and the virus will now spread
Holly lose the baby because of them
IT'S YOUR FAULT WALLY! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!
>documenting Holly's decent into madness
>Wally does what he can to help her, but to no avail.
>Kirbee a rock of understanding and support during these hard times
>Wally works Kirbee like the 76' Olympics
>make wally break character and give up on holly
all two holly fans desperately try to rationalize away the fact that wally is literally abandoning holly forever once he brings her back to endtown
>implying the story was originally just going to have it be Wally and Chic adventuring together
keep dreaming, the story changed nigga
>Caring father figure in Wally
>Loving mother figure in Kirbee
>Cute, but bratty little sister in Holly
>Smiley face pancakes
No need to be depressed, everything's coming up milhouse!
there is literally no reason chic would see holly as a mother figure whatsoever
his entire experience with her was her running him away from a monster trying to kill them, and then turning around and threatening to beat the shit out of him over a severed head he knows nothing about
Okay nerds, we're arguing about semantics here. The gist of the relationship is that Kirbee protected him and Holly's gone nuts.
I just don't think she's mature enough to be a "motherly" kind of figure, but what do I know? It's an academic and irrelevant discussion anyway; we might as well be counting angels on a pinhead.
>ITS A FACE!
Its funny that he's so amazed by this. His whole life he lived in a shitty lizard pit so now that they've gone into the past he gets to be blown away by the little things
do we know if she actually went back in time, or just to an alternate dimension where the timeline is centuries behind? Not back in time in her own reality.
I think the fact that readers in these threads seem to have such a strong reaction to Holly's behavior is indicative of Aaron's talent. He's doing this on purpose and there are some here who are very susceptible to his nuances.
flask was too cute, she did nothing wrong...
way to throw everything down the drain
Holly should check out that awesome breakfast face there, it would really bring out the kid in her.
Aaron has been setting up Holly to crumble for YEARS
Her world was literally shattered, it took everything she had to bring herself back. She is suddenly tiny, weak and helpless in a barren world, her lover and child gone.
Endtown helped her find peace with herself, and she helped people because she had gone through what they were going through and she truly understood, but now that is gone too after the milk trial.
Her faith in her world has been broken one too many times. Seeing a strongly convicted, compassionate person being broken down into a shadow of themselves is truly tragic.
Holly never gave up on Wally when he was panicking and borderline schism
and she didn't give up on him when he confessed that he couldn't let go of his past. She helped him come to terms with it.
Why the fuck do people want him to give up on her now that she is suffering the same way?
Because the one person that needs to step up and help Holly, is HOLLY! She refuses to come to term with her problem and try to work them out. Please notice that she shared NONE of her past with Wally, instead diving deeper into her fantasy of being Holly The Wasteland Warrior.
because wally was just scared of what he'd become
holly meanwhile has tried multiple times to kill herself or get herself killed, and harm those around her or get them killed too, all over a child dying years ago that none of them had anything to do with
wally didn't turn on holly, but holly did turn on wally
she isn't even close to being in the same way as wally was
People need other people to help them sort out their problems. No man is an island. And the whole fantasy is Holly trying to assert some semblance of control over her wreck of a life.
>w-w-wally would never leave muh waifu!!! holly x wally FOR LIFE!!!!!
>wally and the gang are literally on their way to endtown to ditch holly and never see her again
>mfw deluded waifufags
I'm beginning to suspect Kirbeefags are legitimately autistic and cannot empathize with the suffering of others, instead gravitating towards the next bubbly source of entertainment which is in this case poor Kirbee
EVEN THE FANDOM IS TRAGIC
>people who don't like MUH WAIFU are autistic because x, y, z
>mfw deluded waifufags
Drawfriends, we need some detente
Base image, you know what to do.
Threadly reminder that Holly can't be endgame unless necrophilia is endgame.
This is the page where she snapped. Her baby is just one part of it, but the straw that broke the camels back was the milk trial
>Holly always faces left when she says something crazy.
You know, I don't remember this page.
I thought she saw all good and beelined for the tower.
Also, she is really suicidal. Most people get on the edge and mull about for a bit. She was up and over the railing like an Olympic diver.
>all the bullshit we could have skipped if she just jumped
>Holly recognised that Endtown was a fantasy where people came to escape the reality of what had happened
now she's in the "real world", forced to come to terms with her own demons.
How fucking ironic are Holly's comments?!
Isn't that the point? Holly being completely unprepared for the harsh reality of the wastes? And Kirbee being a better survivor because of her ability to not withhold any mental emotional clutter?
Aaron you brilliant bastard.
>her ability to not withhold any mental emotional clutter?
Hollyfags ALWAYS gots to be HATIN'!
thats a good thing tho anon
if you want to survive in a shithole like the wasteland you need to be able to see the good in things no matter what
it also helps to not be suicidal over losing a baby 5 years ago
I think the milk trial and subsequent events have been the real contributors to Holly's suicidal mentality. Old hurts come to the surface during depression, and the death of a child to its mother is a BIG hurt
I think it's a pocket dimension. One of innumerable similar ones throughout space-time that his abilities grant him access to. He took it upon himself to fish the recently dead he sees fit out of consciousness-limbo and give them a world to exist and self-realize in. It's quite an undertaking. More power to him.
just realized quiet is literally a copy & paste of flask
do you think kojima reads endtown?
Considering how it transitions directly to Holly in the end, it was intended to be connected to the story at hand.
I always assumed it was just unrelated filler with a loose segue back into the actual comic.
I skipped over it when I first read Endtown, but this is great. It's like discovering an extra episode of your favorite show that you missed.
And to expand upon this
You all really don't think Holly doesn't realize she's putting Wally and company in a lot of danger?
You don't think that this is another reason driving her suicidal tendencies?
>You all really don't think Holly doesn't realize she's putting Wally and company in a lot of danger?
No, I don't. Her behavior has been irrational and irresponsible. She's had innumerable opportunities to have a heart to heart talk with Wally, but doesn't, instead digging in her heels.
She's completely losing her shit. What Wally said in Panel 3, while 100% true, was not what he should've said at the time. That just tipped her over the edge.
I'm still pulling for Holly, but goddamn she's making it hard.
>She's had innumerable opportunities to have a heart to heart talk with Wally, but doesn't, instead digging in her heels.
Suicidal people don't really go out and get help, hence they resort to killing themselves.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again; Holly is NOT a bad person, but she's a person making bad decisions. She NEEDS help, and is only endangering herself and her friends with her stubborn pride. Aaron has made the point several times that this is NOT the Wally & Holly show, it's Endtown. Waifu faggotry aside, you all be wise to expect the unexpected with Aaron and how he writes. This isn't going to play out like the shit tier levels of writing you get in other comics. Dare I say, this will have a somewhat more 'real life' meter to it. And as we all know, there are no guarentees of happiness in real life...
The other anon has it right- suicidal people are afraid to go for help, and have a hard time opening up to other people about their issues, especially the ones they care about.
Holly definitely recognizes that she's a weak link in the group since she has next to no survival skills on top of being a bit of a coward, which is why she overcompensated by rushing into danger. I might be projecting my own issues onto her but I would think she in part recognizes how much of a shit she is and that fuels her suicidal tendencies.
Sometimes it takes someone who has been through all that to truly empathize. That's why Holly was able and willing to help people like Wally and Linda: they were going through what she herself did.
Yeah, she's a real social worker...
He gave up EVERYTHING in his life for Sarah, and she dumped him without so much as a fuck you.
There is no sign that he is just gonna ditch her once he takes her back. He hates being there, but remember that he was the one saying they should stay when she wanted to leave. He doesn't care for the place, but hes gonna stay with her anyway.
Right. Im just saying that even though Wally isn't a fan of the place, he isn't gonna just dump her back there then go off wandering again like the other anon was implying. Hes gonna stay with her.
Giving up everything for the one you love especially in a world like the one in Endtown is not a sign of mental instability.
Jim was relatively sane, just cold hearted and a bit selfish. In the end, it Sarah dumping him like yesterday's paper that caused him to go off the deep end.
He was more than a bit selfish
Even as a anthro, he still thought he was better than other anthros. Literally his love of Sarah was his only redeeming trait. Sarah is a monster because she didn't even have that
So is the bug actually a mutant?
If he was, wouldn't the waitress wonder why some dude was crawling all over the table since she apparently sees the others as human?
Or am I just overthinking it? Chic never did actually answer Holly's question about the bug
man, wally used to look like such a fucking dork
If you are starting from the beginning beginning, it is initially more of a dark comedy.
It becomes more serious starting with the second set of main characters.
Not to say part one doesn't have serious moments or that the current phase doesn't have comic relief, but they were definitely skewed in opposite directions.
I know of ONE piece of wood she'd love to get her mouth on...
Why? That would get boring fast until one or both characters died
Aaron is actually very clever jumping between main characters, using the couples to develop off each other and really flesh the universe he has created out a bit.
Al and Gustine
Holly and Wally
Petey and Flask
Maude and Linda
and soon Dottie and Walt
More likely to be another universe. Remember that Marx is a planeswalker and talked about infinite amount of universes to Mallard, where the only difference between two of them could be something as simple as a table having a chocolate bar in one but not in the other at a given point in time.
Wally, Kirbie, Chick and (alledgedly) Holly were transported to one that is very similar to their own, which obviously will work as a way to tell Holly's backstory.
if wally could go back, literally the only thing he'd change is he'd just not have brought holly with him, that much is obvious
>implying Aaron is going to spend all this time telling a story that is basically "they were gonna go on an adventure... but then they didn't."
sorry waifufag, wally's made it clear he can't stand endtown, and he's not going to change just because he and holly used to hug
Wally didn't like Endtown at first, but he did want to stay, if not for Holly than for the debt he felt he owed Allie.
He really did break her, didn't he.
almosta shame that cripplechan is nearly dead, though, outside of the two most active boards. Compared to our /co/'s thread, which can easily hit the bump limit within 2-3 days, their /co/'s thread has been up since early December.
Seems like the only people who really give a shit about that site are the /v/irgins and /pol/acks. Let them. The management over there is already more incompetent than this site's.
Holly has a slighty-nasal Midwestern accent. Wally's is Midwestern but nearly neutral from exposure to other accents over his career.
Now that I think about it, almost everyone's voice I think of as Midwestern. Must be the neutral prose.
Okay picture this.
We go thru this flashback/hallucination with Holly looking like her former human self.
But when it is all played out and we get to the therapetic resolution to this story arc... Mouse Holly burst out of Human Holly's stomach like an Alien.
uh... obviously the second panel on that pic was scaled up in photoshop, and that's why it looks all blurry.
aaron has been using the same graytone technique since wally got introduced into the comic.
There is the thought that Marx could have decontaminated her. But if he could do that then he'd probably focus on curing the world over making Endtown maybe not suck so much sometimes.
If he can bring someone back from the dead, removing the virus is certainly within his power.
>But if he could do that then he'd probably focus on curing the world
He's more into interfering than acting as a savior.
>Marx could help.
>But nah. It's that wacky!?
The only silver lining here is that Flask probably kicks his ass when he does something stupid, or irritating, or needlessly destructive.
I'm talking the Holly and Wally arc. The comic has basically focused on them mainly for the past 2 and a half years. Looking forward to going back to Endtown and seeing what is going on.
i see, i personally would love to see the comic go back to endtown as well, im curious to see how my waifu dottie is dealing with jackob jackasshole in charge.
On that topic, a few things to consider:
The whole point of the Milk Trial was the ethicacy of using natural products produced by the residents. This could greatly improve the diets in Endtown with the introduction of eggs, milk, butter, etc., but what might be the pitfalls?
Yeah I didn't see the big deal. Mutants like Maude can produce milk, and she clearly had no issue sharing it. So why not use resources like that to stop people from possibly starving?
>you will never get cream for your oatmeal from maude's breasts
