Iron Man consistently gets top level creative teams these days. Yeah Bendis is a shitty writer these days but he still sells. Same with Cap.Thor normally gets a top level creative team as well.

Beyond that Spidey of course gets a top level creative team (I know Slott is awful but he still sells) and Wolverine normally rates a major team.

Beyond that hardly any solo hero can keep an ongoing with stable sales. Hawkeye generally manages about 2 years and Carol 2 years but beyond that you have a vast wasteland of people that don't rate solo books.

Originally the explosion just made just made Mar-Vell's DNA mesh with hers which is why Carol registered as Kree to a lot of aliens that checked hers.

Of course the whole reason for her mindwipe was so they didn't have to adress Marv or the Kree stuff anymore in her origin despite the fact that her whole costume is suppose to be Kree inspired and she uses their insignia which is the Stat of Hala (suprisingly only Bendis acknowledged this in his shit Guaedians of Knowhere story).

Back during Reed's run, Carol hired a PR agency to improve her image among the general public, so while she may be a right wing hawk with alcohol problems and prone to violence, presumably the PR agency marketed her to the public as being an inspirational figure or something. Plus, Kamala was apperently in a crowd that was under attack when Carol saved them, which is what got her fangirling for her in the first place.

They should make this one of their one-shots to introduce Carol with. Replace the nameless Col. with Rhodey. Have him and a drunken Stark out there on the tarmac waiting for the test pilot. They'll have to blow a third of their budget on VFX to make Cheadle and Downey look ten years younger of course (ala Gandalf and Picard in X3). Have it fade to credits on Carol's "I always wanted to fly" line and then the sound of the missile lock, low ejection, and crash as the credits play out.

In the Captain Marvel movie play out the rest of her origin in a flashback scene: injured Carol running security at Cape Canaveral, and hoping to get fit enough to fly again, then getting involved with the mysterious scientist doing 'geology' work nearby. It could actually have been a great, humanizing story for both of them. Kamala meets her idol and discovers that behind all that PR and the flashy news reports Carol is a flawed, normal human being. Instead of course Carol is now as great and as uncomplicated as the mediocre stories she was in, because complexity and depth only make a character worse, am I right? The current Carol Danvers could be anyone, she has nothing whatsoever in common with the old Carol Danvers. It's a travesty that they parade her around like some triumph when in truth it's nothing but removing a character and replacing her with a new, less interesting character.

Really though, with the then-current state of the Avengers titles the only real place to explore Carol getting mindwiped would be her solo title, which wouldn't address it because KSD thought it a positive, Ms. Marvel, which really could only focus on Kamala's reaction, or Spider-Woman, which at the time was so new that it'd mess with story progression and feel out of place. Which is sad, I think the Ms. Marvel team could have turned the mindwipe into a really good, if downbeat, story.

Classic version of her costume (and by that I mean the one used in the 80's) had a regular leotard bottom, not a thong. The emphasis on asses and tits which became a hallmark of 00's Marvel art was what tipped the costume over to becoming "slutty". it happened to every costume at that time, sadly.
