Good evening owls of /co/,
I'm still fucking psyched about that. Can we get some other Western characters too? Some Batlash? Nighthawk and Cinnamon? (tie it into the Hawks, for chrissakes) El Diablo maybe?
so how are you owls today?
I pruned one of the monster rose bushes and so my hands are a mess
the Hawks tarot card (The Lovers, natch) shows them in their western incarnation
aha, who the narrator is
bless your heart, I'm not even listening to His Rudeness do it
started dark souls and my god. i'm avoiding sadness about the celeb deaths with rage at video games.
also got the past few issues of Island so i've got a nice stack of new comics
that LOSH news got my head spinning
also /co/ is real /pol/ today and :I
I'm reading some Remender Cap
Damn, Stuart Immonen is a fucking good artist. Is he still being wasted on Star Wars?
>bless your heart, I'm not even listening to His Rudeness do it
I'm doing it as an actual registered GOP voter. A lot of times when other people cover these events it's just GOD ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE STUPID WHY ARE THEY TALKING. Bitching about politics with other repubs comes down heavy on the candidates but I think it's more fun because they take the piss out of more specific things.
>So how are you owls today?
Okay, I think. There seems to have been some sort of fuck up with my laptop's latest update, and now it keeps turning itself back on after a while when I have it sleep or hibernate.
I honestly do not know what the fuck that's about, but if it keeps up after shutting off completely, I'm just gonna have to unplug it and take the battery out so that it becomes physically impossible to turn itself off. If that doesn't work, then I may end up proving that ghosts exist.
I don't really care about TV, but comics-wise I worry that half-assed could do even more harm to the LoSH than has already been done. Let them rest until somebody has something is worth reading and won't risk yet another reboot.
I had that issue with my desktop when I updated to Win10--there's something in the settings telling it to check for updates and then it powers itself back on.
Uhoh, back to Mr. Crazypants
Buy Pile Guy, who I usually think is an idiot, didn't like SW either, but he hated all of Hickmanvengers. Half for the wrong reasons, to be fair.
Oh shit look who's in the new Carol book >>78994307
i have a weakness for Puck, as long as he's still drinking as hard as ever
>Buy Pile Guy, who I usually think is an idiot, didn't like SW either, but he hated all of Hickmanvengers. Half for the wrong reasons, to be fair.
>"Secret Wars" #9 is, as a story, terribly unimaginative and relentlessly predictable. Two beings with every reason to hate each other, stratospheric IQs and wholly godlike powers devolve into punching. The climactic conflict scene is visually rendered as a wacky portrait. The "Bobby Ewing Stepping Out Of The Shower" climax was a gross miscalculation unworthy of one of the eight smartest people in the world. So, as a story, this is a mess and wholly unworthy of your money. As a wiki entry, setting up an all new, largely not-so-different Marvel Universe, it's fantastic, especially for what happens with Reed and Sue, explaining their absence from the modern Marvel continuity in a denouement that's poignant and kind of beautiful in its symmetry and simplicity. So ... a beautifully depicted mixed bag, all around.
But wait--shouldn't her name be Jeanne-Marie?
Jean is a man's name.
Interesting, because I haven't gotten Windows 10. Though it's comforting to know I'm not the only one this has happened to.
Computer issues are the weirdest damn things. It's amazing wacky shit a sequence of numbers can cause.
I guess there's time to fix it since it's a preview, but that's still sloppy shit
yeah, giving Lemire more teams is idiocy
so how about Zemo's keikaku skills last night, eh
Y'know, these Secret Empire guys are kinda lame.
>yeah, giving Lemire more teams is idiocy
I really feel like he could do a decent team book if he had a co-writer to help him keep it all straight.
Yeah, his first admission of weakness on teams was charming for its honesty, the second was 'go fuck yourself'
It's hard to gauge since you can really only rely on the Regular Cover - but it's a study with some asian artifacts in it.
Those two combined only bring to mind those two stories.
>So how about Zemo's keikaku skills last night, eh?
You gotta give the guy credit for pulling the same con twice. That takes balls.
Just a little wrinkle? Also, you're a terrible dad.
Well. I guess FabNic knew Charcoal had to go, because this has been quite the downward spiral for him.
I love the letter summation of all the keikaku here
Also it's a serious "oh no, he's hot" thing. He's good at it!

(I'd just screencap it except I think my PrtSc button is broken.)
Okay no. These Imperials can go fuck themselves.
I hope Charlie turns them all into crispy bacon.
This particular mistruth has perpetuated itself for a while even though I've corrected it several times. You mean not everything on Wikipedia is double-sourced, much less sourced at all? Wow.
I was NEVER asked by ANYONE at Marvel to kill Charcoal off. I had decided to do that all on my own completely independent of any contest problems (at that time on TBolts, I was single-handedly trying to give every reader and editor in comics a reason to want a "no-killing" or "dead means dead" rule :-).
It was AFTER I provided a multi-issue outline where I explained when and how the character would return that I was informed by my editor not to worry about his return, since there were RUMBLINGS of legal complications with his use. Nothing definite just grumbling. So I continued with my story, killed Charcoal off, knowing I had a plan to bring either him or his alter-ego Charlie Burlingame back if I were able to.
During that interim after his "death" was when I was told because of hassles with the contest legalities, it wasn't worth bringing him back, so I didn't. End of story. I know it's not as insidiously interesting as if there really had been some kind of conspiracy, but that's the truth.

thanks for finding that, anon
Ohhhh, old CBR forums. Such a cesspit, with some gems.
BTW we're 100% reading New Warriors some time, too
Except for that one volume Skottie Young did because that art makes me cry. Seriously, what the FUCK.
I gotta give them props for nuking everything and building everything back up with stricter rules
They wanted it to be less of a cesspit so gosh darn it, they actually tried to make it less of a cesspit.
It kinda sorta worked but not really
that Jimenez one, that was some quality
Yeah. I just can't even with it.
BTW, accepting liquor donations for the Storytime of WHY? that might be Fightbolts.
>I guess it's slightly less shit than before? still pretty shit though
Mods seem to step in if things get too heated and straight up insults start flying but other than that it seems to be the same.
The New Warriors interest me slightly because they were a thing Marvel kept trying to push, but never really caught on.
Wow, could he give less of a fuck? Let's try to show a bit of enthusiasm, circus brat.
dat Cap reference to Justice and Firestar
Vance is such a husbando
dat Zemo double entendre. Zirch draws handsome mens.
Zirch did the MADE OF WOOD story with Alan and Batsy, after all.
oh Karla, flashing the girls
Clint would be 100% shitty at pretending to not be Clint, bless his heart.
Yes, and it was executed with typical Bendis skill and style
well, we know ionic people are pretty much impossible to kill...
Solicits should be next Monday/Tuesday, right?
We may get a few early ones tomorrow or Saturday.
Also the Poison Ivy mini finally comes out. Curious to see how Amy Chu handles her and I want to see some delicious Clay Mann art
It's ALWAYS Fixer's fault. First he betrays the team to suck Zemo's cock, then turns himself into an insane robot, and now he's let some horrible reality warping abomination loose upon the world. He technically already got to the part where he straight up murders his past self and makes the time-space continuum shit itself.
Fixer is kind of a fucking idiot with a woefully ironic name.
Fixer's profoundly amoral and this gets him into all kinds of shenanigans
You know, this is a little far down the rabbit hole even for me
FIN FANG FOOM!
has absolutely no genitals whatsoever.
Wait, wasn't that new 52 Stormwatch, and it wasn't me?
Right, he's amoral in the way that toddlers are amoral--they just want to watch the world burn.
I remember the first "Hey guys, Midnighter got raped by owls" thread
Steve Orlando always favs Midnighter/owls art, because he's cool like that
No, because that's just the random icing on the WTF cake of HOOT HOOT
NGL, I would totally read that Gateswatch book, Middy telling the kid to stay in school was wonderful
I wish I could send the smell of my roses over the internet. It's really sublime right now.
(It kind of froze once here in November and hasn't since. Everything's kind of confused, accordingly)
Citizen V don't take no shit
Citizen V for President
I know, I know, politics, but this is like my favorite Twitter account
well, he's definitely not a natural-born US citizen
Doctoral graduates in Scandinavia get a sword. And a cool hat.
He can use a puppet and run as VP!
then the president will have an accident...if only captain america had done his job. Maybe superheroes need to train and register so this won't happen again
Huh. That's a refreshing twist on the godlike being of mass destruction concept. He just... fucking leaves because he doesn't like that he's hurting people. Nice.
>not once ever do you ever get to wear a Solidus tentacle pack
I swear, Metal Gear does everything it can to piss me off.
So how about we pick it up tomorrow, owls?
thanks for reading!
I was listening to a podcast talking about how Orlando made Midnighter great and how all the other Wildstorm guys just kinda disappeared and I really need to like tweet them to reread Grayson a little closer.
anyway thanks for posting!
I just realized we have to beg Seeley to work Zealot into NSS somehow
Zemo's gonna Zemo.
So Remender All-New FalCap got six issues before Secret Wars barged in, right? And kind of ended with this cliffhanger of what happened to Nomad--is Spencer treating any of that?
Neither, new Nomad from the Dimension Z stuff in the pre-FalCap Remender CA
this renumbering/launching shit makes talking about comics fucking annoying
I'll have to look for the tie-in, I guess
Oh man, that tie-in; the last page is very readable as Rick Remender's last FUCK YOU, if you choose to, damn
