Holy shit, why have you guys been spitting the vilest shit about this show? This looks awesome.
New shows are always, and I repeat: always hated on /co/.
In fact, everthing is hated on /co/.
Hated by self-satisfied, entitled, perma-angry teenagers who hasn't a creative bone in their bodies.
All they can ever do is complain about the efforts of other people.
This is the nature of 4chan.
Because its yet another shitty comedy show but this time it caters to ADHD addled children.
Its not amazing but not really excessively bad but the fact that it makes up 80% of CN's daily schedule means you'll be seeing the same shit over and over and over again.
Kids will watch anything, doesn't make what they watch good, and /co/ will watch anything as well.
Teen Titans Go is for the anons raised on Johnny Test, Mucha Lucha, Shaolin Showdown and Fairly Oddparents while everyone else watched better cartoons. Their nostalgia addled minds can't handle watching cartoons that progress the medium like Steven Universe, RS, Adventure Time, Avatar, etc, so they shitpost about them every time their pet toon doesn't get the respect they feel it deserves.
Let me clarify something that will save you a lot of grief. 4chan is not one person. /co/ is not one person. This board is inhabited by a myriad of different kinds of people who like different kinds of things, and even topics such as 'comics' or 'video games' or 'anime' are incredibly broad in that respect. It's also human nature to sit fat and silent in content and speak out loudly when bothered.
There will also always be SOMEONE who dislikes a thing. Nothing is perfect, and thus a site like this will always have at least one person being very loud about how much they hate it.
You can chill.
>progressing the medium
Yeah, because stoner comedy lite, shitty anime ripoff, and whatever the fuck you want to call AT are chock-full of substantive meaning they're progressing the medium.
They're corporate products the same as any other cartoon, the difference is they're worked on by under-read creators trying to inject what little they know or what they can steal from the shit media they've absorbed into their work.
Can't believe I gave a serious response.
That brings up the question though, what cartoons that have come out latelly have actually "progressed the medium"?
I mean, newer cartoons have found an audience in a the akward college-age male and autistic girl demographic.
They're definitelly DIFFERENT from the average cartoon you'd see 10-15 years ago, but I would definitelly not call that "progress"
Over the Garden wall was something I thought actually did try to move the medium forward.
Well for one does have a concise story progresses more like an old children's fantasy book (think Alice's Adventures in Wonderland orThe Wonderful Wizard of Oz), that's something I had never really seen done in a cartoon, especially when most current cartoons overload their seasons with filler contentent and the plot doesn't really progress for seasons on end.
That's definitelly something I'd like to see more of, it tapped into a rather new territory for cartoons, kinda like Avatar, in a way
lol at you being so fixated on bashing that cartoon its the only part of my post you reply to, as if it wasn't obvious the first time when you inserted it out of nowhere into the conversation.
It's an okay cartoon. It's a hit and miss thing, so people usually don't religiously watch it. Also, most people were expecti ng it to be more loyal to the original show, and were disappointed when it was a comedy instead.
>unironically liking Meme Titans GO
TTG has a crazy broad range between its good episodes and bad ones.
It does have plenty of great episodes but it falls on the viewer to sort through them.
It's unfair to dismiss the whole show as shit based on its sub-par content.
>not masturbating to Raven furiously
I forget sometimes that just because people vocally express their disapproval upon something with there only being a small number who vocally approve, that doesn't mean the people who disprove represent the majority.
Never watched original TT and gave this a fair try (5 episodes). It just sucks, the characters are very annoying.
I also gave UG a try and in 3 episodes it made me change my mind. Now THAT'S actually a fun wacky show.
ttgo is like Space Ghost or Sealab were they take an old action show and edit it into surreal juvenile nonsense, it's a very WS style of comedy but the original is recent enough to cloud judgment.
It's like a hit and miss sketch comedy show where anything can happen
This is as good an explanation of it as any. Sealab and Space Ghost were liked because few people if anyone gave a crap about the original cartoons that got fucked-with to make the new shows, and had little/no attachment.
TTGO, on the other hand, was made while original TT was still fresh in peoples' memories as a great show, and they were expecting any revivals to follow roughly the same tone and setup. When TTGO came out of nowhere, people were pissed because it initially appeared that CN went from not giving a shit about the series to actively perverting it for cheap sketch-comedy. The fact that the new shot takes pot-shots at the old show and its fans regularly doesn't help, even though most Sealab-esque cartoons do the same to a lesser degree.
In other words, it's not bad, but they pushed it out way too soon when people were expecting something very different. With more time for the old show to fade from memory a bit, the reception probably would have been much more accepting.
for me personally, it's not that I think it's particularly bad, it's just that it seems to be the only thing on cartoon network whenever I actually watch TV sometimes, and that gets annoying
>Xiaolin Showdown is god tier and the first few seasons of FOP are watchable.
I have watched several in which they just go ahead and drastically change the animation style. If anything it is like a parody of other hero shows and other cartoons.
It does not deserve the hate it gets just because of the occasional "waffles" episode.
Everyone is a screaming asshole to one another
The humor is all non sequitur
The fucking songs are annoying
the artstyle and animation is annoying
>B-but, the Night Begins to SHINE
Oh, cute a one off joke that kind of looks nice but soon will return to it's Johny Test tier bright as fuck style, neato.
I'm sick of fucking calart dropout shows, can we get another Symbiotic Titan/Samurai Jack show so kids don't grow up to be even more retarded and pathetic with all the shit they have on their tables.
I have said it previous times and I'll say it again.
My problem with TTGo is the inconsistency of writing. I do admit sometimes it can be funny and an episode can have a good premise.
The problem is that said quality NEVER LASTS. I's basically a 60/40 on if you're gonna get a decent episode or just pure LOLSORANDOM.
One episode can be the like of OP's post while the next time is just Beast boy and Cyborg saying the word waffles for the entire episode which APPARENTLY is suppose to be funny.
The fact it's a comedy series is not my problem, my problem is that the writing and humor is just all over the place
Tarakovsky babby, Genndyfag, you know, retards that glorify Genndy Tarakovsky's work as if it is the second coming of Christ and everything else is shit. They also like to pretend Samurai Jack was actually fun just so they carry it as a "good taste" badge. Basically very pretentious people.
>it's a comedy so it can't be shit
okay mr fecalpheliac.
>Humor consist of contrarian ironic shit, lolsorandom shit, and shitting on other shows (including the previous incarnation) that are, arguably, better shows
>The animation is Johny Test tier
>Every 5 episodes there's a "fetish fuel" episode
So of course 4chan likes it
>a couple good episodes means a shit show isn't shit
That's not how it works I'm afraid.
Maybe if the comedy wasn't either shoehorned LOLso randumb shit or dumb shit that falls flat I would love AT, GF, SU,TTGo but that's not the case. The only show that genuinley makes me laugh is TAWoGB
>if it wasn't gumball
sorry I like shows that are written better and animated better fag.
>Shits on a show with better animation that actually writes jokes
Don't you have some inflation porn to masturbate to?
That's a great point but with spongebob, it started out incredibly strong, building a giant fanbase. Spongebob did fall in quality but even after the movie was released there were still glimpses of great episodes here and there and gradually fell in quality to the point where it's now unwatchable. I have no idea how spongebob is still going but is it damn impressive. I think the difference between TTGO is that it's an obvious use of quantity over quality. They took a great TV series, with great animation, great story and characters etc., etc., and turned it into something completely different with cheaper animation. It's being forced to be something it's not, to be this juggernaut that's supposed to compete with spongebob, but is cheaper and appeals to kids more. I also think many people are offput with the insults they deal with older fans, when it's riding of the success of the older series in the first place. Sometimes it can be funny (like the serious episode they did which actually was pretty good). It's also being marketed so hard with that awful tag line "Your new favorite show" I think if they stuck with the art style of "The New Teen Titans" shorts, it would of gotten a better response. I personally have no problem with change, i even welcome it, however i personally can't stand the series. Still if people like it then i guess that's up to them.
ill have to sit on the fence with this one.
the comedic timing often falls flat and some jokes are really just bad
on the other hand, you occasionally get a nice visual payoff with gags like the night begins to shine, or an actually good joke/skit.
in the end TTGo is something ill watch to burn time, when im in the mood, if i dont have anything better to watch. its not total garbage, but its often not what i would call "good".
>It's also being marketed so hard with that awful tag line "Your new favorite show" I think if they stuck with the art style of "The New Teen Titans" shorts, it would of gotten a better response.
What do you mean better response? It is the most popular show on Cartoon Network, children (the actual intended audience of most cartoons) love it.
I have the first two seasons of the show on DVD.
I also have two Sons.
I hate TTG, truly I do.
My Sons, love it. They can't tell me anything about it, they don't have any favorite characters, it's just what they demand I put on when we're chillaxing after game time, and before bath time.
They're 5 and 3. So, probably a little under the target demographic.
They did a whole episode, about a tree growing out of Beast Boy's head.. Because he read a book. A whole.. Fucking.. Episode.. By the end I was rubbing my eyes because it felt like someone had stapled sand paper to the inside of eye lids.
This show.. Is absolutely the worst.. I've seen some shit.. Some seriously shitty shit, I lived through the days of that kid who had cartoons in his head, and the bullshit live action asstastrophy that was Cartoon Network for a while. Hell, I sat through the "Beware the Batman" shitshow for two episodes, before I had to just forget it existed.
This however, for whatever reason, is amazing. If this was the show, minus the hero identities (Cyborg, BB, Raven, Robin, Starfire) and characters that took on their qualities, while not having their backstory instead.. I would absolutely love it. Especially if it had 80s music, and this swesome of a set up. This is exactly what I want my Sons to watch growing up. Heroes doing hero stuff, not.. Prank calling Hive, and ruining their day off.
If TTG became 'The Night Begins to Shine' the TV series, sign me up. Hell, I would cosplay these characters with my kids!
>I can believe I like something from TTG. I need to go lay down now..
Download LInk here Garage Sale
Never mind, they ruined it. The second that this Music Video stops, the whole fucking thing goes to Retard Town, and takes a shit on Faggot Lane.
Cyborg turns into Optimus Prime, and runs over The Brain, and then "Call me Cyborgimus Prime." The Titans ride across a rainbow road, with some 80s style art in the background.
It's like they have a good idea, and begin having a seizure, foaming at the mouth, tourettes kicks in, and they revert back to this brain swellingly awful bullshit.
WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? WHY CAN'T WE HAVE NICE THINGS!!??
Xiaolin Showdown is kind of mid-range, actually. They had some really high-highs with fun plots and characters. But when they shifted focus, or started to get really toyetic and gave into things like power swell, it was pretty awful.
I can take it being a comedy. I can take it being a reboot/continuation. But the writers went somewhere that they should never.fucking. go.
No matter what the fanbase for the original version of the show is like, you NEVER acknowledge the older version, you try to give the continuation its own identity, without relying on people remembering the original. They made that mistake in episodes like 'The Return of Slade', 'Waffles', 'Staring at the Future', and 'The Fourth Wall' (which I'll admit was decent).
That's where the hate for this show comes from. The writers and directors know that it doesn't live up to what the fans wanted, and they use it to basically shit on anyone who still remembers the original in any way, shape, or form.
There's your answer.
Stevenbomb. Also, the Thursday episode was the biggest of the week. Though I don't think kids knew that unless the promos really do hype kids up.
Sorta. Reruns on Sunday at certain hours and the show went back on hiatus after last week.
The early episodes tried to bank on nostalgia until they saw the old fans hated it. Then they got all passive aggressive and started lashing out at the old fans.
Just like in comic books, unless otherwise stated, always assume anything with the name "Teen Titans" is irredeemable trash.
Ah, a good ole fashioned "disgusted reaction" thread.
Disney does it because of some complex ratings algorithm that guarantees top ratings with every premiere. CN does it because they keep doing bombs of every show which forces the animation teams to play catch-up.
You cared enough to post again. That's right, people can see when you samefag.
