I think it started out fine. There were clear and defined characters, and there importance was shown from the getgo. There were conflicts and curious events unfolding and things setup that looked like they'd be important later, from the MC's fear of animals to Damian's angry outbirst to the shield protecting the school somehow getting breached by demons. But then the comic just quickly had the MC get over her fears, starting doing character switching all the time taking away from the reader a character to latch onto, and no new interesting significant developments have occurred. I'm sure Vivienne could actually make it better and more focused and everything would be just fine. She could completely ignore her fuckups and make the story more focused again. But she hasn't.

have to agree, as someone who already draws and is starting to learn animation by my myself, I have to admit that she clearly has some very impressive skills when it comes to indepenent animation.

I am pretty fucking impressed that shit is done by a single person, it´s nowhere near perfect, it´s full of mistakes and shortcomings of course, but no shame in giving credit where its due.

Love the art style and all, I just think that Vivienne could work on her animated videos more and work on the comic later and not try to publish it once a week. The character designs all have the same "emotion" It's busy, edgy, full of thin shapes. They differ inside their own paradigm so you can tell if one is supposed to be more soft or relaxed, but outside of context the characters are very similar in nature. I'm not impressed. The sequences are very contrived (music videos of dancing and lip syncing, with no surprising juxtapositions) and the art style squishes the lines of the character's silouhettes too close to each other, causing the forms to appear too thin to grasp (especially around the mouths and arms).

I also can't get over how the animal characters seem to be animals for the sake of being animals--nothing is really done with the fact that they're animals. Even in some cartoons like Regular Show where the character's animal appearence serve no apparent purpose, at the least the forms of the characters reveal a bit of their personalities (the racoons short stature betrays his childishness and the bird's skinny frame with the slim legs gives him the same silhouette as a tight-jeans hipster). But what does a fucking wolf have to do with Christmas, and how does his cheshire-cat smile and tuft of red hair relate to either the song he's singing or the holiday he's celebrating. It reeks of furry.

It strikes me as the work of someone enamored with their ability to create, rather than their ability to create something memorable and clever.

No, there's a reason she's really desperate for people to donate to her Patreon which has been increasingly losing money. It's literally her only reliable source of income at the moment.

The problem is her comic has gone on for so long people are now realizing there's nothing to it and it will never built. I believe she said herself the first two books are only about character and the actual "story" won't start until book 3. Which is stupid because those two things go hand in hand, not one at a time. Plus all her e-drama and childish attitude has caused people to drift away from her and be interested in her as an artist.

That causes her to lose money on Patreon, then she has to put her comic on hold so she can do some freelance animation here and there to make up for it. Causing even MORE of a loss in fanbase because you can only keep up with a dying comic for so long before losing interest.

Which makes her MORE desperate, which makes her spend more time trying to hook people in which makes her delay her comic and other work that people were interested in the first time even more.

She's basically spiraling down e-bankruptcy. She can't even financially manage a Patreon and the girl actually thinks she can open up a studio.

Y'know, I just realized why this werewolf's design is frustrating me.

She's supposed to be eleven feet tall, but she's proportionally "shorter" than she is as a human that's only 5'6''. It's hard to get a sense of scale from her because she stays at just about five heads instead of ever reaching the relatively reasonable proportionality of 6 or 7 heads.

Also IF JayJay is 11" tall then how big is that fox thing on her head? I'd imagine she's the height of a small 7 year old child. Bear in mind each of these character's weight. Jayjay is holding a child up with just her her with no issues.
