No, it was as confusing as shit and having played half a dozen FF games that's saying something.
The models really were deep in the uncanny valley but what's really disappointing is that over a decade later pure digital actors still don't look much better in their expressions.

I've never seen it but for some weird reason my mom really likes it and owns it on DVD.

I bought it without knowing what Final Fantasy really was about because I've never been even remotely interested in Jap games like that.

I liked the movie and though the animation was amazing. Then I played what I recall was FF7 (who the fuck knows, there's hundreds of the fucking things) and was completely disappointed because it had absolutely nothing to do with the film and was terrible.
