yeah /co/ rightfully despised the trailer.. and the beginning of the first episode. But basically after santa maria smacked some SJW bitch, the second half of the first episode and nearly all of the second episode was.... pretty good.. Pretty good.

The characters are totally unlikeable so there's never going to be a fandom here, but if the humor keeps up at this pace we could have another AD on our hands

Let me use an example. The whale mauling scene from Family Guy.
Yes there are people who are just offened by them mauling a whale, they aren't the target audience. But there are people like me who are that audience who still disliked that scene. You want to know why? Because it had no punchline! It wasn't a joke, it was just boring!

You can't just slaughter an animal and expect that to be funny on it's own just like you can't expect a rubber chicken to be funny on it's own. You have to make it a joke, other wise it's just boring to it's target audience and feels like a desperate cry for attention.

Cruel and offensive humor still needs to be humor!

The only political comedy I remember from this show was the fox news anchor, which was pretty funny. The show itself is centered around the politics of immigration but the actual comedy is more focused on the characters and the random stuff you mentioned. The sjw nephew is also has him moments because of what a smug dead beat he is.

It's a decent show. Nothing I'd watch on the regular, but if I'm bored I might turn it on.

You know how political cartoons are rarely that funny? Imagine that for 30 minutes with the best 10 minutes being the commercials.

Some of the jokes were okay, like the jazz bit, but really it's about as subtle as DONALD TRUMP IS THE DEVIL.

And American Dad shed most of its political "humor" because it wasn't working. This show is bathing in it and is even worse overall.

It's MacFarlane stuff, everything he has touched after Family Guy's cancellation has been shit.
