I want to make a comic about a war between anthropomorphic animals and humans.
I got no idea for story or characters. So I know it will be successful.
The fans will take care of that dear anon.
I just need to produce decent waifus and/or husbandos
But yeah it should be implied that you could just walk in to an orgy inside a castle.
"If its generic its because its proven successful."
It's never been that successful though. It won't register outside of the niche you're already blending into. At least tck another selling point before you consider the idea worthy of anyone's time.
thats an interesting concept.
Have people find anthros really close to the uncanny valley, so that they find it hard to empathize with these creatures and give a sort of psychological reason for why they are at odds with each other.
Humans vs Furries
>but also dealing with a new religion that challenges the stablished order!
>but also in the middle of the discovery of a new, extremely valuable resource they must compete for!
>but also dealing with an industrial revolution that upsets both societies and strains them to the breaking point!
>but also involving the collapse of a great and ancient power!
>but also the dispute for the dominance of a holy land!
nothing is fully original, unless it comes from another planet.
Everything builds upon other concepts and ideas and in the end its the execution that determines how good people like it.
thats another thing, whether successful or not, one should continue his work or at least make it come to an end, eventually fans will rise and stick with it, or people will hate it and either way, views come your way.
I guess the worst thing a comic can do is be forgotten
You're fighting doge in war.
You submit doge.
Do you kill doge?
Humans have made themselves nearly immortal, and are powerfully telepathic/magical. They've created various castes of animal derived hominids who are as intelligent as humans but are held to have no rights at all and are used as basically slave labor. The humans however are intensely, intensely bored, and will often don a ceremonial robe that makes it legal for animal people to retaliate against them and attempt to cross the animal territories. Some try to run by stealth, some wade in to slaughter and create havoc. The story would be about various groups of both humans and animal people dealing with these hunts, raids, and battles (depending on the number of humans involved) and trying to figure out a way forward for both.
Or instead of ripping of Cordwainer Smith, you could rip off Roger Zelazny and Stanislaw Lem and have humans as these mythical killing machines who tend to hunt and brutally exterminate their creations in this case, furries.
How about using the animal-peoples to represent certain now-dead cultures? So it's still a "generic fantasy setting," but done in the Tolkien model where it's all based on fact.
So you have a badger people who are Anglo Saxon, Wolves who are Franks, some extinct species as Romans/Byzantines (who are already dead).
Humans can be the progressing race that's destroying these others, but it's less a "HUMANS SO BAD I WISH I WAS A CAT" thing and more just an allegorical take of the passage of time.
Either that or just have one animal species, but instead set it in the uneasy period of a truce after a long war.
Have the brutal and genocidal general face justice for their crimes.
FUCK YOU BEATRIX
On a scale of Mithra to Charr, how lazily are designing the animal people.
So anything from Endtown to Autumn Lands to that weird red riding hood comic?
Sure, give it a shot!
All of the works I was referencing were sci-fi and involved genetic engineering. (Cordwainer Smith was writing when telepathy was thought of as a possible 'mental technology'). I just didn't want to narrow it down to a particular time/setting.
Go commission something from Jay Naylor.
Depends on the market. Explicit gay is definitely the easy porn dollar. Gay subtext is where the money is for everything else.
>How would you differentiate between a fantasy setting and fictional medieval setting?
Basically how "real" a lot of it is. Like how this guy >>78884163 has certain people blatantly be based on certain people, like how Tolkien used real languages for the people of Middle Earth (Rohan uses Old English, yet Middle Earth is Britain 6,000 years ago, and there were no Anglo Saxons yet).
Basically it's less about magic and more about legitimacy.
Sure, animals talking is already pretty fantastical. Just depends on what exactly you're going for, is the majority of labor done by draft animals and water or has tech advanced to steam or petroleum engines? Are there a distinct class of animals that are sapient and if so how does this affect the social order, if at all. A rule of thumb is if you don't have a basic grasp of the tech involved don't include it most times.
>Go commission something from Jay Naylor
Stare into the cuck abyss and it stares back.
Who's your target demographic? If it's furries than make the comic one big fursecution story but make sure to only portray white people on the human side. You will gain support from the SJW crowd and Feminists as well.
THE SHARK LEGION
100 years ago the earth was under attack by aliens.
humans where fucked, until they came up with a solution, creating super soldiers by infusing them with animals DNA creating super furries vs aliens
So we got furries of all kinds and sizes fighting for mother Earth turning the tide of war, the best of them all was THE SHARK LEGION!!! Shark soldiers who single handed manage to bring down the alien mother ship and save the fuckin day!
So the earth is saved and as the world rebuilds, the super soldiers are asked to return back to their human form.
They all agree, except for the fuckin SHARK LEGION, who love their new bodies and say fuck no to being human again.
So conflict happens and the military and the SHARK LEGION fights each other, the SHARKS end up escaping into the ocean and the military can't afford to go after them so they disappear into legend.
then 100 years later, the SHARK legion is found again, they have made a home on a new volcanic island and have increased their numbers.
So the actual series is about humans and SHARK people interacting with each other and fighting each other while the main characters seek to find a way to have peace between the two races so they can ready themselves from a second attack by the aliens..
Naylor is kind of fascinating in a "should probably be observed from behind a one way mirror in a padded room" way. "Okay, so you're a right wing libertarian furry pornographer submissive autogynopheliac cuckold Zionist gun nut." If it weren't for the fact that he could actually draw he'd have wound up like Chris-chan.
Reminds me of that Roman commentary about how some Gauls mocked the Romans because they were significantly shorter than the Gauls. Then the gauls shut the hell up when the Roman's built a catapault and fucked their shit up.
>OP wants /co/ to do all the legwork to make a comic so he can pitch the idea to a big name publisher and make millions off of our hard work.
You may have fooled the others, OP, but not me. I see through your deception.
le ancient europeans were so kind and wise meme
when Nintendo makes a zelda game, do they think of the story first or the gameplay first?
They focus on the important stuff first then build around it.
Considering that, I wouldn't want to settle on what demographic I'm aiming for before I got an idea in my mind of what I am making, if ever.
what deception anon? We are just throwing around ideas for something that wont be popular.
Okay here me out. These furries were genetically engineered war machines that escaped but the way the gubberment made em is they're all males. So to increase their numbers they abduct human women and rape them repeatedly so they can birth new furries. Said furries mature rapidly. So it's a war to protect the wimmenz from being raped. They are some traitorous wimmenz that want to be captured and raped by the furries as a way to say fuck you to the human race. I dunno where I'm going with this other than there must be rape in your comic.
>when Nintendo makes a zelda game, do they think of the story first or the gameplay first?
They decide on who their target demographic is, what the gameplay will be then the lore to compliment said gameplay.
Why would a world full of humanoid animals see humans different? Are they their creators? Did they invade their world? Diseased maybe? Is this simply because humans feel superior?
Maybe all the above is the rift. Humans organized a series of outstanding animal experiments with a virus-like mutagen and hell breaks loose when the containment is broken. Now the world is filled with anthropomorphic animals that have developed their own societies across the globe. Humanity may have tolerated their existance, may have tried at least, but the virus-like mutagen affects mankind. Unlike the sophistication that the animals have grown to, humanity becomes more instinctual, barbaric, and goes medieval on the animals.
Only things kind of off are the whole Zionist and sissification thing. Most libertarians are just about limited govt. and are scattered all along the social spectrum and guns are just plain fun.
a war against rape.
feminism would make me richer than steve jobbs, for as long as shit that lasts.
Make it a war against furry rapists, and the internet will love me.
You are genius anone
>animal people are wise protectors of nature with no class/race/sex structure
>who practise 'human' sacrifice
>humans abhor such sacrifice
>yet are totally cool with rigid class/race/sex structures
>"Can you believe those savages still bloody their alters?"
>"In this age? How barbaric!"
>"Shut up, Woman, I wasn't speaking to you!"
Can there be a Kitty Girl warrior?
Here's my idea. Okay so animal people and humans have been living together but it's always been strained. Now the princess of the animal people had a fetish for fucking humans. One day while she was getting fucked by her human man servant she was caught and cried rape. The king issued a world war against the humans and so it began.
Just following orders, bro
Yes, see Mouse Guard
Anyhow; the problem I usually have with worlds with such conflicts is that, when you have a whole varriety of anthro animal species, why would the hatered only be between humans vs. everyone else? Why wouldn't each anthro animal species just hate eachother equally?
I'd be retard if there wasnt
also girl bunnies
Given that people like social commentary this has the potential to be really cool, however the message could be lost if there are not human characters on the other side, sadly. I could be wrong.
Maybe all the animals fall under the same country/kingdom. Also I wouldn't make all anthros hate humans and vice-versa, maybe our main cast could be a mix of both peoples
European cultures have been done.
How about American cultures? And I'm not just talking about the Nabvajo or others, if we go down south we also get the Tarahumara, Chepal, and others I cant find the name of
>not wanting polish warriors
Make the main character a badass mary sue shark bitch identical to this.
>It starts off with an old man talking to the audience, he is clearly a religious individual and starts telling the story of this world. "In the beginning, God made man and God gave man dominion over the world for he was made in the image of God and he knew that only man could have fair judgement upon the land he created, this was so, and this was good for the Lord!
But then the enemies of God rose from the darkness, and defiled the image of god, making the beasts of the land like men, the ultimate insults to God's creation.
Over time men became weak and sinful and accepted these beast-men as another of their own kind, but our Lord is just and sent out his faithful to spread his word and vanquish the sin of the beast-men from this world.
The Lord commanded and we obeyed!
We showed no mercy for those who do not heed the law of God, for those who stood on our way and protected these beast men, we slay them as we did our enemies. Our word true, or sword powerful!
Our faith spread throughout the lands, reaching every culture and language, our prophets shined light into the truth, the only truth! That which speaks of the beasts and men could no longer live as one, that these blasphemous creatures should perish by our hand! As man had neglected his duty handed down by the creator of all, to end all which is unnatural to God!
And so our word was shown to the people of this sinful land, and the truth woke among them, that they should hold no mercy or love for the creations of devils! And so they where shun from our societies, banished from our cities, yes! The beasts and the sinners who protected them, we showed them no mercy! For God's law is a sword! His wisdom a shield! And so we hunted them down, our numbers greater than all the stars in the night sky! We hunt them and kill them like the animals that they are!
>European cultures have been done.
The worst part is that they barely have. Western European medieval culture and Norse culture have been done to death, but you hardly ever see fantasy settings BASED ON celtic, ancient mediterrenean, magyar, or Eastern European cultures.
That said, other cultures could definitelly use some love too. I started doing a high fantasy webcomic because I wanted to research some other mythologies
Literally just morons dancing around stones and practising human sacrifice. The Saxon, Angle and Jutes coming was the best thing to happen to Britain since Rome.
Actually they were probably better than Rome since they didn't have those bullshit slave mines.
Savage Berserker or Honourable Knight?
Spoonfeeding is when you give an answer to a question someone easily could figure out on their own. This wasn't spoonfeeding, especially since the asker said they did an image search already.
I support this.
Less "humans vs others" and more just that humans are one aspect of a larger world.
Also basing this off real world cultures is dumb. Without resorting to stereotypes of characteristics, think what kind of culture these species would have, and their religion, traditions, etc.
Also, there shouldn't be magic, or at least not overt "level 1 fireball" magic.
>animals have rigid class structure
>humans have rigid gender structure
>sjws loose their mind trying to argue who is right
And in both cases said structure is shown to be absolutely right.
>woman is weak
>admits it's because she's a woman
>even the narrative
>and same happens with animal people's class stuff
I... dont have anything..
Well I could show you this
I liked how Final Fantasy IX did it, where humans and anthro rats are for the most part the rulling species but you've still got several animal species living quite confortably in human-ruled cities.
But otherwise, I can't think of many Fantasy/Sci-fi setting with both humans and anthro animals being a common sight besides Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Usagi Yojimbo (though humans are rather rare in the later one)
yeah I was inspired by that.
Maybe have the Alliance compromised of various kingdoms of anthro and human kingdoms, who Allied to fight a larger threat. Though in general amongst the kingdoms, they hate one another equally, viewing themselves above working with those that aren't their race.
There are other kingdoms composed of already present races that are elsewhere in the world, say Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears, and they are usually friendly amongst those of their species. Species that live close together sometimes meld into one kingdom, so Black Bears and Grizzly Bears live together under one banner.
What if the humans are of modern tech, but the animal-folk are at medieval tech... with magic?
So it's kinda like a Gate scenario, only the other world that got invaded by the humans are the medieval fantasy animal-folk. Make it so that initially the humans entered the fantasy land on some kind of ancient ruin, then they encounter the standard fantasy tropes. But the further the humans go, they find out it's getting trippier and trippier, kinda like Elder Scrolls. In fact, if we're speaking in Elder Scrolls analogue, the humans landed on Skyrim, progresses into Cyrodiil, and then things went full crazy once they meet Morrowind, Black Marsh, and Elsweyr.
And have the humans be African warlords from Somalia, Rwanda, and Liberia.
Its gon b gud.gif
Read more faggot
Failing that humans need to purge xeno after seeing how they've been robbed of their potential by a celestial event showing human achievement in parallel world's with no furfags
We already have that, it's called TwoKinds
>war between anthropomorphic animals and humans.
It's been done be-fur
You have a couple options here Anon: You can either develop a unique setting and complex characters on all sides of the conflict, with interweaving stories that inspire rabid fanaticism within the fanbase by virtue of defying narrative conventions and including genuine peril, or you can pander to a targeted audience.
most of europe is farms, roads and tiny towns, look at it on google earth and compare it with places that haven't had their soil raped to death by thousands of years of nonstop human presence.
There's not an inch of wilderness in France or Germany, they are ecological black holes.
Egyptians = Crocodiles(because Nile river)
Lybians and Nubians = jackals
Carthaginians, Seleucids and other Assyrian descendants = Leopards
Romans = Wolves(fed by a she-wolf)
Hellenic league = Bulls
Gaul = Boar
Iberians = Horses
Germans = Bears
>Germans should be eagles
let me think again
Gauls = Wild Pig
Germans, Goths and other tribes = Boar
Slavs, Baltic, Black Sea = Bisons, Weasels, Badgers
Huns and other far east = Bears
Picts = Sheep
Celts = Rabbit
Scandinavians = Reindeer
Semites = goats of all kinds
Wow, an original story I was working on has quite a few of those. But I'm determined damn it, I'm going to keep working on it anyway. As long as it doesn't become fanfic-tier I'm going to keep going.
How about making it so human minorities and animal folks have always gotten along...but Muslims started some genocide shit, and Caucasians, ever in a hurry to bend over backwards for them, joined in to appease them. Boom, humans vs furries and sympathizers.
Thanks OP your thread has taught me that my idea isn't original at all but the story isn't the only element to consider. My art and execution will have to make the difference. Good luck to the both of us OP.
Tbh, I don't think I've seen a fantasy city done as well as Rabanstre in Final Fantasy 12. It's really cool how most people get along. Even your adoptive father is a Bangaa.
OP, you should also remember that humans are the Bards of the animal kingdom. Just look at a farm. In nature, they'd kill each other if given half a chance. Now, they can't even survive without one another.
foxes are not as culturally relevant or iconic of the region
and anglos were a germanic tribe, at the stage were all these cultures existed, the British island only had Celts in it.
That's the plot to Skullgirls.
Ferals are animal people who are the lower class due to terrorist anthros due to poverty.
They've turned to organized crime as a result but are butting heads with the human mafia and human Illuminati/Assassin's Creed groups. Who in turn are harrassed by the church and government.
Jay Naylor's porn comics are an example.
So is Shadowrun in some places like Japan, Ireland, and mainland China.
Warhammer Fantasy has the Beastmen vs Elves, French, and Germans.
There's also the subplot to Incal.
Pandaemonium, the French comic about a naked panda girl, was building to it.
Sonic kind of had it.
Good VS Evil touched on it.
Section 9 can be argued as it.
Man vs natureman isn't a new theme by any means. But it isn't depleted so long as you are aware of the rest of the medium.
>"Haha! I'm going to bulldoze this forest and develop some real estate!"
>"NOT SO FAST HYOOMAN, THIS IS OUR HOME!"
>"Haha! What are a couple of mangy ANTHROPOMORPHIC CRITTERS going to do against our advanced technology!"
There you go, remember to cut me and James Cameron some royalty checks when you make your millions.
>Pandaemonium, the French comic about a naked panda girl
Are you talking about this furry comic called Pandemonium or a different furry comic called Pandemonium?
It didn't really have a plot. It was the first chapter of a really long book, and that's all we got.
Showed us the protagonists and villain, drew them into the story, then ended.
>Good VS Evil had it.
You and I must have seen different shows.
Does she eventually get raped to death by Roman Wolves?
Its a PS2 game that is in the top vidya of all time on most lists.
Check it out.
What if its a sci-fi setting, where after a world war scientists make every animal on earth human-like, so after the war everyone has to adapt to a world without non-sapient species left to prey on, except bugs and vegetals, but that isnt enough to satisfy the hunger of lion people or bear people, so murder becomes a big issue in the cities where you cant walk through an alleyway without expecting some tiger guy jump at you and try to eat you.
