>Slams an exploding super villian into a school bus near a bunch of kids and talks shit. >Instead of immediately fly him up and away from the kids
You know what? They all deserved to die. I know Nitro was juicing, but even then. Just what?
they had to do so much shit to make us forget about this.
I never did, Hill ate every one of her words with Osborn being put in power.
which also forced everyone to realize Captain America's perspective on it, eventually someone in charge was going to be not so nice and tell you who to fight.
The good parts of this event are any scene with Captain America
The rest only suck because Marvel insists on "shaking the very foundation of their universe" and then it's status quo again in a year. That and these motherfuckers can only fight so many times before it's retarded that they go back to being "friends".
the ending was shit.
It is like they had a cool concept, but couldnt think of a good story around it.
House of M is a good event, in spite of what it did to the X-Men franchise, Civil War isnt.
The best issue is the first one with Namorita dying and Nitro blowing up.
No idea what the point of the watcher on this book.
the truly most retarded thing about this is Tony's Karma Houdini trick he pulled with this.
he COMPLETELY gets off scott free and even MEMORY FREE of this event and NO ONE EVER CALLS HIM ON IT.
and then right before Secret Wars he goes fucking apeshit again.
I still think the entire shit with the illuminati blowing up planets and not even trying to find another way to save both planets was retarded.
If they tried and failed they'd still have failed as heroes, now they're just supervillains.
which is funny, because even before they became friends again Iron Man was already doing secret dirty shit behind people's backs already!
when pressed later, he told Cap that he doesn't give a shit about him and that his friendship was a thin veneer and nothing more, and it always was.
Atleast we got some nice
The set up for Civil War is really fucking stupid.
It's not like it was the Avenger's just fucking around and a bunch of kids got killed. It was a group of C-list retards on a fucking reality TV show that the entire super hero community know how to be held accountable for and bow down the the government or be thrown in jail.
Like it could of been fucking dog the bounty hunter trying to fuck with villains causing a disaster and Civil War would still of happened at that point.
I get it. It's the final breaking point that opened all the floodgates but as far as breaking points go it's a stupid one.
I really can't stand how cunty Reed and Iron Man became in recent years. The only thing that keeps them from being as bad as Namor is that they actually had character traits before it instead of being boring faggots.
Reed of 616 is generally a cunt at almost all times.
especially to Sue, who he lied to about this, and then Illuminati shit, both times he basically told her to go fuck herself and that she wasn't important enough to him to tell the truth to, but Hank Pym a man he can't stand, was.
Armed hitsquads are the single greatest way of saving lives! Forget about the hundreds of people, powered or non-, who sign away their personal time and effort, social interaction, physical and mental well-being, and even their very lives for the public good, for no pay and no expectation of reward or gratitude! They don't do shit!
I am sorry peter fans it goes downhill from here. In the next page
I'm more of a DC guy, so correct me if I;m wrong, but wasn't Tony Stark a pretty big libertarian/anti-governmental control prior to this? And wasn't there a F4 issue devoted to pointing out how bad an idea a super-reg act would be?
I like that they're able to get government funded teams of non super human soldiers (who aren't S.H.I.E.L.D) only when it's for the express purpose of taking down heroes.
When it's villains running around everyone but shield and super teams are slack jawed morons who can't shoot a gun ever.
I can't be the only one who hates this spider man outfit
Thx OP btw
The heroes are nowhere near as bad and won't try to kill them, that's the advantage they have with that. They won't be sending dozens of men in to get slaughtered by Carnage or Doom or Magneto.
That's why we left the Roman church a couple hundred years ago, man. They think there's a special class "above" us regular plebs that gets better access to God than we do, and the lowly schmucks have to go through an intermediary.
Which, actually, might be a tangential commentary on the theme of Civil War being about power, control, and authority.
no, he's always a cunt but he can two-face acting like a decent father.
but the Cunt underneath always remains, it only requires him to be pushed.
he will blatantly lie to his wife about some of the most important shit in the world and the universe and hell even about themselves specifically because he knows better than her.
and she just takes the punishment and abuse because he would ruin her life if she left.
Their Liberal, liberal's gladly and loudly throw away freedom for security, every time.
history has shown us the end of this though, Gulag's and camps baby!
I like how you argued against yourself in that sentence. And fuck them anyway, their good intentions don't give them to right to make anyone sign jack shit. Especially not someone like Cap.
There is one thing I like about this event, I like that it actually takes place over weeks, hell, months of time. Every other event after this is usually in one day or three at most. This one felt like it was ongoing events.
They've said it back when the event was new and in recent years. Either they really believe it or they were just trying to get people to talk but they're douchebags either way.
ratcheting up to another level of dumb here, hell you have them talk so that it makes the fight more impactful
that was the thing, Millar wanted the evenness but everyone else basically made tony the devil
it worked out so well too... oh wait, Dark Reign.
and then no one pointed out the obvious.
you can't even blame Osborn, it isn't his fault the hero's and the government paved the way for him, THEY put this system in place.
I don't want the US Govt to own superheroes but I do think they should have some accountability. Especially considering they can get powers out of nowhere and they are 1000x more powerful than anything human made.
You faggots better not take this bait
Had a better endi-
Actually no, it had a cliche ending, but it was better because I could still buy them being friends after MUA2's version of the events.
yes that's a great notion, most everyone aggree's.
but accountability to WHO? who exactly is in charge here? do you KNOW how dirty the U.S Government is?
putting them in charge of super hero's is a fucking terrifying prospect, Liberals never ask the question of who hold the leash and what kind of man that person usually ends up being.
You're out of your goddamned mind, every last bad thing that could've happened from registration did happen.
Having every superhero's name in a database for terrorist and supervillain organizations to easily take a peek at and hurt them, assholes telling superheroes who and what to fight, etc.
no he fucking didn't, they accepted him back into the fold no questions asked.
and he was already in the illuminati and continued to doing all kinds of shit behind their backs anyways.
he's a cunt and he stayed a cunt until his death right before Secret Wars.
and now he's a cunt in the new universe.
As much as people complain Civil War really revitalized a lot of heroes that had been sitting on the back burner for most of the 90's and early 2000's. During that time everything was just mutants and Spider Man, then the Ultimate lines got hot but Civil War brought the classic Avengers back to the forefront.
What's funny is basically everyone is registered now bc everyone is an Avenger.
but that's not what happened? Fucking Skrulls pulled the trigger on their fucking years long sleeper cell invasion plan
I think a what if ended with Cap and some others in charge of the Registration stuff
she takes the abuse because she's saddled to him with kids and a life he's built.
he would readily take all that from her and he's smart enough to do it and she knows she'd lose everything if she left.
so she simply makes the best of it, she has no power in the relationship and never does.
in nearly 90% of all worlds, Sue leaves reed to disastrous results.
see Ultimate Doom, it almost always ends badly for everyone, Sue included.
Why does everyone hate Tony anyway? He's always doing what right. Also the hate for him in the prequel to secret wars is retarded, every member of the illuminati blew up worlds and lied to people, but somehow tony is the worst of them, yet he always saves everyones asses
I know this word gets used incorrectly in US politics. But the proper word is "leftist." They're liberal about nothing except muh gays, and then only when it suits them.
>we are so in the right here, aren't we Jan
>yep now lets sick Bullseye on Captain America
also how long was he making that face ready for them to open the door.
also that fucking Songbird is as intimidating as she ever got.
and they took down a fucking dictator, liberals wanted to simply let him be.
all the fallout? that is our fault for sure, we fucked that entire place up and didn't fix it, but taking out that sick fuck was the RIGHT thing to do.
liberals are fine with horrible shit happening so long as it happens away from them, conservatives know that sometimes you have to go out and do something.
too bad they were too incompetent to clean up their mess.
>the x-men removing themselves from the event was great
To this day, I still don't get why they did that, when "Mutant Registration Act" has been a thing for 30 years, and has been treated almost always as "slippery slope bad things happening." That's what always brought me out of the story. It seems like it was trying to be framed as a Gun Control metaphor, especially in the Iron Man tie-ins, but the X-Men have been using registration as a racism metaphor for so much longer.
>We don't like to think of this as jail
>We prefer...mandatory interstellar futurist holiday resort
>No, it's not a space gulag.
>What do you mean, how the hell did you get the resources to build this gigantic other-dimensional concentration camp?
he killed alot, and I mean ALOT of people..
like a couple MILLION, and teamed up with some really shitty villians and did gleeful villian killing sprees and shit.
did he say "i'm sorry I tried to murder you across time and space" and everyone was just cool with it?
Two answers I can give.
>"Trapped in a pyramid while Kang the Conquerer took over the world. Thanks for your help with that by the way, dicks."
>"The X-Men knew about it as it was happening, and they didn't stop it either. You know we don't have teleporters either, right?"
>complete ban on superheroes
idiot gun control analogy aside, how is this in any way a good idea in a universe where super powered terrorists regularly try to blow up the president, splice people into horrific monsters, and aliens invasions occur?
Storm was like "we're buddies, so I'll have Psylocke wipe out your memories of all that evil shit you did" yay we're friends again. Then Hope and Cable show up to kill him and are interupted by Stryfe, resulting in them reluctantly having to team up to take him down and Bishop is all "Look, I'm super sorry but in a way, aren't I as much of a father to you as Cable? :^)" And Hope was all "I'll kill you if I see you again." And then Bishop never appeared in another book because UXF was cancelled.
at least hope has the right idea about it.
Bishop outright commited genocide in the slight chance it would deter cable and hope.
he also killed hope's surrogate mom I believe.
he did alot of really horrible shit and he completely forgot that his timeline doesn't even exist anymore so Hope couldn't possibly become what he thought she was.
It was kind of unprompted, if those villains just dropped in and just started shit and Frank just blew them away, I'd guess he'd be a bit pissed but wouldn't outright kick him out, but they came in under the premise of peace as far as anyone knew.
Cap's not against killing, but that was pretty out of hand right there, even for Frank.
Are you autistic or something?
>>Guys come in peace to join your side.
>>Frank outright shoots them, unarmed and weren't looking to fight.
>>Cap beats his shit.
How is that not in character? Do you want them to just go "LOL, guess we aren't using them then!" That would make Cap's side look worse than Iron Man's!
I know a lot of the writing is OOC in this comic, but even still this comic hammers home why I don't understand people being so in love with some Marvel properties. So many of Marvel's heroes are absolute pieces of shit. They're not heroes, they're not good people, yet everyone buys their books and loves them. Why?
People just like to see heroes fighting eachother and premises in which they get dirty -
The problem is the people interested in these ideas don't read comics, the ones who do realize how if you keep doing it over and over again it loses everything that made them likeable in the first place and just gets into shit writing territory when they make and break up over and over again.
no, Annihilus had a a sort of character retcon to be deathly afraid of the concept of other living beings.
he feels that the only way to be safe is for their to be no life, period, he planned to kill all life in the normal universe and then have his own troops kill themselves.
or has explained when they looked into his mind
Superheroes were made so we had people to look up to and strive to be like in our daily life so we would be good people. Superheroes are supposed to be better than humans, not shit enough to be relatable.
