Not him, but I've at least ranked most everyone to 3* if they've got the bios for it. And everyone is leveled to 40. With the recent spiders update I noticed just how easy it is to take someone on rank 5 specials or dailies to 40 at least. Then I run low missions with the 40s with best condition. It really helps out with VS, just to have throwaways for tag healing.

But I'm also keeping everyone at 3* until they've got enough bios to rank to 5*.

To elaborate, Future Fight is sort of beat-em-up/Diablo in play structure. Characters all feel at least somewhat different in how they attack and move, and enemies have some rudimentary patterns to learn/exploit.

Contest of Champions has a roster that's more or less interchangeable- basic attacks draw from, like, three or four animation sets, specials are heavily shared with typically only 3-bar specials being unique, and other than passives, RPS typing, and star power, everyone might as well be the same character.

What's the best set for 10-8 soloing with Thor? Meaning without Ronan, Lincoln or any kind of team bonus whatsoever.

I've tried Stark Backing and I am Also Groot... and they're both kinda shit 5/10 desu senpai. The latter is a bit worst since the small difference in dodge % almost obliterates his chance of survival.

Thor just has survival issues I find it. Sometimes he just hits hard and doesn't take much damage or he gets his shit kicked in. You could go for a SCD set so he can fire off his skills faster, especially his 6* skill. Or a attack buff set so he's just overall more powerful. Personally, I went with Hawk's Eye on mine and it seems to be pretty good. I haven't tried solo-ing 10-8 though, I'll try it later.

It's, using let's say ~100 energy:

The former will net you, let's say ~4-5 bios on a good run, where whereas the latter would get you... ~4-5 bios on a good run.

So the thing is, even if you do get a couple more bios running the top one (the 1st stage has more variability, making it more reliant on RNG versus the top ones much more consistent but still RNG reliant drop rates), you'd still be getting way more dimensional debris running the lowest and since that's such a huge bottleneck for upgrading, I think it offsets the rather negligible difference in bio acquisition.
