is inside out really as good as everyone says it is or is it only well recieved because its only good pixar film we have since TS3?
How does is it compared to HTTYD?
I went through a cross-country move like the girl went through, so by the end I was in tears. If you can't relate to that it probably won't be as good. It's still a very well put together movie though.
It's legitimately very good, though it's maybe a tenth of a tier below Pixar's absolute best (Finding Nemo, Toy Story imo). It has a few structural issues, which is why I knock it down a notch, but those issues only come as a result of it being the most ambitious and complicated thing Pixar's made.
not that guy, but it's my second favourite pixar film (hell, maybe second or third favourite animated film, period.) and every time I watch it I'm reminded of exactly why it's snapping at the heels of The Incredibles. It's just fantastic.
You get a error as it doesn't accept underage
cool. be sure to get the Blu ray though, the animation is legitimately stunning enough to warrant the greatest possible quality.
got a chuckle out of me anon. And now I know what happens if you put Riley in.
I'd say the ball's in your court. hell, I'd just be happy with a single page just so I can say "I did a smut thing and somebody made that smut thing into a comic."
I think if I had to choose, I'd rather go for 14 sketched pages on the grounds I'd rather there be more time given to the setup and intimacy between them, but whatever you think's best, dude. As I said, I'm just real glad you like it so much and the concept of somebody actually making a comic of it (even ms-paint levels of bad) just blows my mind in general.
>I'd just be happy with a single page just so I can say "I did a smut thing and somebody made that smut thing into a comic."
We do have the 5 unfinished pieces another guy did.
huh. That guy's pretty good. I'd be more than happy to see it done by him.
looking at it I'd say Inked or sketched is fine, colour if you really want it. thanks for this. it's great.
oh yeah. for some reason I remembered it as being one big page.
unrelated but funny: captcha just threw up an image of a computer mouse in a tiny shopping trolley. I don't know why i found it so funny, but that shit's hilarious.
Actually I was going to use the money to commission a lot of Sunny D but then I remembered the pastebin.
>16 years old.
Hello there, my fellow Riley Master Race comrade.
Hi my no.1 of the entire net <3
>post yfw Inside Out wins the golden globe
Who are you?!
I'm not one who sings giant praise for either of these, it was way better than Frozen though. Frozen relied on some big shocking reveal that while an ok moral, was not really all that ground breaking. Outside of that it was a another princess movie with tonal issues. Inside Out doesn't have some rely on being progressive to get it's praise. It's just what it is.
toy story 3 wasn't very good at all though.
Monsters university was pretty good though.
HTTYD is one of my top five movies, but part of it is the music. That soundtrack man. But I rewatched it lately: the plot has some weak bits. Still love the movie, but it's not flawless.
Personally enjoyed it more than Inside Out, although I think Inside Out has a more unique message.
First time in years a Disney/Pixar flick has actually deserved a win and not just won by default because nobody who voted saw anything else that year.
>For the comedy of it, we’re cutting between 18 characters and 4 locations in that dinner scene, so we just went broad with it - kind of how SNL would do it. They all have like dopey obvious mustaches or big red glasses so that you’re instantly clear on, ‘Oh, it’s mom; it’s dad.’
>really as good as everyone says
who the fuck are you talking to nobody here thinks it's great, it's just "not a bomb" and "disappointing for Pixar but ok I guess" and also waifufags but fuck em they don't even really think it's that good
While the movie is good, I think one of the problems is Joy. From design to personality, she doesn´t seem to fit into the idea of the movie like the other characters.
This is not about positive and negative (which I don´t really agree). It is more due to her color scheme and I felt she should have been way more happy-go-lucky type of character.
>Implying there are negatie emotions. Emotions are bad when repressed and good when fulfilled. You could just replace Joy, sadness, anger, fear and disgust names with Mania, love, determination, anticipation and pride.
>She was very mature compared to Riley's other emotions. When a emotion is in the lead seat of the temperament, it starts acting less like a uncontrolled impulsive instinct and acts more like some sort of reason. Probably, other Joys are less leaderly and are just the stereotypical perpetually happy-go-lucky kind of person.
Inside Out fails because the entire journey has no tensiom or stakes, they just make up bullshit to get them.in trouble and then bullshit to get them out. Contrast with toy story eewre returning to Andy was the ongoing push.
Also, the implications of the entire system make no sense
Thanks so much my loyal fan for doing this
> mfw not enough cute Riley art.
>Joy has a bigger bust than Disgust
It is what it is. It takes a concept and wrings all the creative takes on it as you can. Train of thought, abstract ideas, dream theatre - the whole film is a showcase for this admittedly interesting world.
After it shows you a decent amount of this world, it ends before it becomes tedious. A great film, I loved it, should never have a sequel.
Right from the Dream Productions
I think and other anons from both /tv/ and /co/ also think this was the best movie of 2015, I think it is my favorite from Pixar mostly because of the theme rather than its genuine excellency.
looking at that, I can't help but wonder what it would be like if they did just a scene or a little montage from this, but using only the software that was available when they did the original Toy Story. It'd be interesting to see how good they could make it look and whether or not the film still stands up quite as well.
After a terrible event occurs to Riley, Joy senses a decrease in morale and decides to help the others by making a better relationship with all of them, following the suggestions in a magazine Riley read in the past:
>Joy taking Disgust to Fashion Island seeing Disgust trying on new clothes
>Joy taking Fear to an Goofball Island and winning him the largest stuffed bear in a game
>Joy sending Anger love letters from inside his newspaper
>Joy cuddling on the couch with Sadness under the covers, whispering sweet nothings to her
So essentially, polyamorus Joy.
I never really liked How to train 1-2. I liked Inside Out. However I expected more fun with the emotions and I felt seperating them at the beginning wasn't such a good idea. I didn't cry or anything at the end so maybe I'm still a manchild.
I kinda expected better, but still good.
>mfw thick Joy
Why is thick Joy best Joy?
I usually love Disney and Pixar movies but I was just so unimpressed with Inside Out that I'm surprised it has such a following.
I've come to realize that I'm not the intended demographic for the movie so me not liking it is whatever but so many others seem to be obsessed with it.
You mean Fairy Dream Adventure?
Why always pick on Riley? Why not rileyfags?
glad you're so enthusiastic. As an aside, I fucking regret buying a gopro. 4K it said, low compression mode it said.
what it doesn't say is the fucking thing uses some kind of ridiculous hybrid compression or something and the resulting file has to be handled by a specific program for an hour before anything else can read it. Oh. And the low compression thing's a lie.
if not for that, I'd be writing now.
That's pretty much me when I was 12.
I looked like Riley but the hair is a bit shorter and I was tall.
Take note that I am male but most everyone mistakes me for a cute girl, even to this very day.
Yes, more Riley!
It didn't grab me, but it did what it did well.
I found the action setpieces to be ridiculously repetitive 'run and fall, run and fall.' But for those, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more.
But ultimately, it felt more like a movie-length pilot for a TV show than a stand alone movie. A really GOOD movie length pilot, but still. I felt kind of blueballed by it once the credits rolled rather than simply feeling left wanting more. The story it told was perfectly complete, but it just feels like there's so much left to do with the premise, and this really clever world they created.
I did find the overall sentiment really moving. Exploring the reason we need sadness, exploring how our emotions influence us (the dinner scene where the others try to fill in in Joy's absence and well meaning responses come out with attitude), and the result of having no emotional guidance at all.
It's a solid little movie. I don't really see why people would get hype over it though.
Inside Out threads always tend to be centered around a character, first there was Joyposters, then Disgustfags, then Fearfuckers, a little more of Sadlusters and now it's mostly Rileyfaggots.
>>78895869 At least you aren't delusional. Riley's Anger a shit.
>first 1 minute of the film explains the positive aspects Anger, Fear and Disgust
>whole film explores the positive aspects of Sadness
What do you think when you hear the word "Anger"? Negative things?
Hey dude. Made a start.
an idea or feeling that a word invokes in addition to its literal or primary meaning.
a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility.
I guess you're right. Would Disgust be insecure about that?
>You seem to be failing to understand the inherent subjectivity of the word.
I can say the same for you too.
I learned from the best.
Why can't we just hug and make up?
>Would Disgust be insecure about that?
I kinda wished Disgust had a little bit more doubt in herself during Riley's running-away. Disgust is the root emotion of embarrassment and shame.
>"H-hey, why do you have bigger ones than me?"
>"It's only a few centimeters bigge-"
>"While at least you have them!"
>Riley in that skimpy shirt
This movie was unbelievably good. Everyone expects animated movies to be just for 8 year olds and to be full of slapstick. At least, I did. And I've never been more wrong. It actually gives you great plot along with valuable lessons.
>The people who grew up believing that cartoons can be thoughtful are starting have have kids of their own.
And those kids are shit.
>watching Inside Out 2
>pic related happens
I saw this capcha and decided to save it. It feels very fitting.
Yep, we sure need a sequel
They haven't thought of that yet either.
It's shit because they have the wrong plot. How good would it be if it was Gru trying to teach the girls on how to villain or something else?
But it wasn't, it was a boring love plot that had some good moments but was overall dull and unnecessary which I am stating it usually is. I can't really think of any sequel better or even on par than the original if it wasn't part of a series.
I think I remember you from the last thread
Coming here to save this thread with more Riley.
>mfw I posted Riley and Rileybros started showing up on that thread
Are you Russian?
>inb4 I accidentally derail this into an Anastasia thread
Ignoring whether or not it's actually good, I think your premise as to why people would think it's good is flawed.
While I personally don't enjoy Brave, people do. A lot. Working in the theme parks, I can tell you it's one of the most obsessed-about movies from guests. It won an Academy award. I don't get it, but it is and was considered a good Pixar film.
I also don't think people see Pixar the way you think. They don't have a list in their mind of Pixar films like a band's albums, and just need a good one after recent failures.
Similarly, they also don't really categorize them in their heads as different from the rest of the studio. Lots and lots of people think Tangled and Wreck It Ralph and Big Hero 6 as Pixar films, or vice versa. Some actually actively think that way, and many others don't, but they blend together enough to keep them from having the distinction you propose.
Inside out was boring and predictable. The premise of having little people in your head controlling your actions has been done before. Ranging from cartoons of the 50's/60's to nick shows like spongebob. I had to sit through this and even the good dinosaur with all it's terrible flaws and executive fumbling felt like a better watch than this movie.
They're letting it die
How come when Inside Out came out we got no R34 but when Zootopia was announced they got a truckload?
Thought of a different movie for a brief second
Joy had a slightly sarcastic edge to her that I found endearing.
>Joy! THE Joy!!? Well what the heck are you doing way out here?
>I don't know. Care to answer that, Sadness?
>insert invitation for sex line with Sadness here
That reminds me, have some gum.
.One more before I turn in for the night. Looks like Joy went on a bender the night before.
Nah, she just partied too hard at Disgust's strip club
>Inside Out is being praised ITT
I watched the film recently and I have to say the film is average, it has it's moments and I couldn't really find anything wrong with the film overall, that said I will point out that everything that went wrong in the film was entirely Joy's fault from the core memories getting lost to the complete shut down of Riley's personality etc if Joy hadn't been such a cunt nothing bad would of happened.
Pic related for the moral of the film.
film was shit, Joy's a cunt pic is you bro
So what does it look like when someone's Inside is insane?
Why didn't Joy just send the core memories back to headquarters in the pneumatic tube system?
>tfw Disgust's lips on
Joy's Sunny D
Who's your friend who likes to play?
Bing Bong, Bing Bong
His rocket makes you yell "Hooray!"
Bing Bong, Bing Bong
Who's the best in every way, and wants to sing this song to say
Bing Bong, Bing Bong!
Joy cared enough to try and cheer him up when Bing Bong was feeling down.
I feel like people who joyfag either skipped this scene or glossed over it because seeing her just completely ignore how Bing-Bong was feeling makes it pretty obvious why Joy all the time isn't a great thing.
I think as an eternal optimist that is Joy, any other emotion may have been alien to her and thus she lacked the know-how to understand it. It was something she had to learn from Sadness.
.Watched this over the Christmas holidaze, my nephew wondered out loud if Joy was wearing panties. The little shit said it as I was sipping a rye & Coke... *choke *cough *cough *gasp*
Last one before I go to bed and find out what Dream Production has in store for me tonight.
>Joy was wearing panties.
I remember that I have an screenshot of what is up there, but it's just her legs. And on New Years, some guy posted a Joy doll upskirt which was just olive green paint over that area.
>"You know what'll really cheer you up?"
>"Not in the mood Joy..."
>"Joy, I don't think it would a good idea to do that becau-
>"His five foot dong? Relax Sadness, I'll be fine."
Joy wanted to get back to HQ to save Riley. If you think comforting a imaginary friend is a greater goal than preventing your human from running away and possibly getting raped, you are Sadness.
Thought it was overrated tbqh
Didn't hit me emotionally anywhere near as much as I thought it would compared to say Up or Toy Story and it wasn't funny like those films were either.
The bit at the end with other people's emotions was funny AF tho
More drawthread deliveries! Posting the individual fusions soon.
Good news! He had finished and colored it. She's so cute now!
Yep, that's the one. He sits next to you in the "special" class. Good kid though.
What the hell are you people talking about?
Imagine those lips kissing these lips
I think it is time for this thread to go to sleep, because it seems imminent.
Joy finally found a way to cheer up Sadness
Joy + Judy was colored in the drawthread
I personally like it less than HTTYD, but I still enjoyed IO.
The short where the emotions/inside parts are edited out is actually a pretty neat little film for anyone that hasn't seen it.
Imagine those lips kissing these lips
I just did & I dont like it
Why do you not believe in love? Who do you think is the perfect match?
If you say Fear, you are gross
Not him but Anger and Disgust is severely under appreciated. The way she belittled him near the end got me rock fucking hard and he is the only one in the team who could take the bantz.
