The show isn't good enough to survive purely off its comedy or action scenes like kids like. The drama and lore of it is what really brings it together. Kid's can't really get as into that stuff.

There is something about sparkling gems and magical powers that attract little girls, anon.

Not all kids just like the senseless wacky comedies, anon. Give kids a bit of credit. A lot of them are not dumb.

My only complaint with SU is that it pushes things a bit too far sometimes, like the scene of Lars and Sadie in that island episode, and Amethyst turning into Rose.
