Post times drastic redesigns actually were BETTER than a classic design
>>78855096
It looks like a uniform, it's a decent update of/homage to original X-Men suits without looking too tacticool and it's the only time I thought Cyclops looks badass instead of silly.
The slickest jacket in the omniverse and ROBOT BOOTS. Just what you need for flying around in space doing cool poses.
>>78856234
I agree that it looks good on Cyclops, but I don't think they should have given everyone the same outfit. I prefer varied and colorful costumes.
>>78856813
Nah, I like it when the X-Men aren't just generic superheroes. With matching, more down-to-earth outfits it becomes a uniform instead of a costume, which IMO is a good thing.
Besides, similar doesn't have to mean the same.
>>78856234
it just looks like they're wearing big winter jackets to go skiing, not badass at all
>>78855096
>>78855096
>>78857465
Still looks the same to me.
>>78856875
I love the X-jackets but i prefer them drawn by other artists over the puffy winter coat look.
>>78857465
adding lines everywhere isn't an improvement in the slightest.
>>78855096
>>78855096
Possibly the first example.
>>78857600
Phoenix costume and Jim Lee costume are still best. X-Jacket after that, then miniskirt and last generic 60's outfit.
>>78857625
She's not the same character as the comics version tho. Hell I don't think they even knew there was a comics magpie when they created her.
>>78856982
It's Kain.
>>78857662
They definitely knew there was a comics Magpie. That show was all about obscure Bat-villains that hadn't been adapted yet. They just changed them quite a bit, which the DCAU did too with less popular villains, like Mr. Freeze and Calendar Man/Girl.
>>78857654
I don't understand the appeal of the Jim Lee costume beyond nostalgia.
>>78857649
Waid's run there had some great covers,
Rogers deadshot
>>78857798
It's so good I don't even know what deadshot looked like before
>>78857798
I didn't even know Deadshot was created in 1950. I thought the Englehart/Rodgers run was his first appearance.
>>78857815
I totally forgot his first look
>>78857896
>>78857899
The tux look is pretty sweet, honestly.
Not sure if this count as redesign compare to her first look in 52 back in 2006.
>>78857896
I prefer this really, shows that he was a spoiled rich kid.
>>78855122
Ma mugga.
>>78857670
Doesn't matter, still a cool and distinct look for Dracula
>>78858501
>distinct
no, you don't get to use that word when its just "kain without the eyebrow ridge"
>>78857465
Fuck no
Something like this maybe
>>78857729
What else would there be? Fashion is really subjective. I grew up in the 90s so the Lee designs just ARE the X-men to me.
>>78859452
Ahhh its perfect
The best
>>78863016
Another piece of brilliance, dead because if bendis
>>78856405
Uh, Discowing is better than that boring old thing
>>78863016
This.
>>78863671
The best Scarecrow design, almost like it belongs in Jonh Hex's rogue gallery
When's he comin' back?
>>78859452
thats the stuff
take notes DC
>>78855096
silver age green lantern and flash
I'm still not sure how I feel about him slowly looking more handsome since Johns started writing Green Lantern, but the redesign is great.
>>78867146
>Sinestro is sexy now
>Captain Cold is sexy now
Geoff Johns WILL NOT REST until everyone wants to fuck his villain husbandos.
>>78857465
Fuck you
I want my red underwear back.
>>78863796
>dead because if bendis
no it's dead because Steve McNiven hated it. He thought the double breasted jacket was outdated and he hated the helmet because he couldn't draw a character emoting with the face covered
Still upset they turned her into a generic emogoth by the end.
>>78867962
That artwork is awful
Why does she look like a female robot with a human suit
>>78868046
Why do you look like a faggot?
>>78859452
That's a good improvement but the Earth 2 costume is still far better than that.
Gobby's revamped costume/gilder was so good, too bad it never gets any love
>>78868046
>talking shit about Bagley in his prime
no Emmanuel, you are the awful shit
>>78868655
> his prime
Ultimate Spider-Man isn't from the 90's
>>78868579
It's shit.
I still miss this design.Yet another cool thing about Robinson Earth-2 that's been fucked over.
>>78867146
>>78867962
>>78868579
Would you really call these "drastic" ?
>>78868910
Yellow Sinestro is a moderately drastic change from the blue jester suit. The rest aren't.
>>78856405
hell yes
>>78859452
Huh. Amazing how adding just a little to belt improves the whole look dramatically
Not perfect, but her her classic look was pretty rough.
>>78868768
Beautiful.
>>78868768
It's perfect
>>78867718
McNiven why
>>78864243
Never ever.
>>78869892
See black bolt new design.
>>78868579
any pic that isn't Ramos art? the suit looks good, but the cartonish face sorta of ruins it
>>78863796
>Another piece of brilliance, dead because of Bendis
good
it will never be tied with his steaming pile of shit of a run
that's the same reason why i'm ok with Dick being dead
>>78856234
Fuck, I seriously never noticed the X on Emma
I always wondered why her pants ended in an upwards point on her belly, which looks weird as fuck
>>78871822
Most artists after Quitely didn't seem to get it.
