Marvel is a fucking joke of a company
I don't even hate Bendis anymore, shit like this had to go through and editor, Strange is actually being written like this in his own book and Alonso must have stated this style is what he wants
>this had to go through and editor
>Strange is actually being written like this in his own book and Alonso must have stated this style is what he wants
well duh, who do you think wants Strange to become their next RDJ?
Typical anti-Bendis brigade. You guys are the worst of the worst. Always crying because Marvels best writer is reinvigorating comics with his top selling stories. I bet you guys are the same idiots crying about the X-men too. Well too bad, his X-men run is highly praised everywhere else like reddit, and will go down as one of the best. Issue 600 took old and boring characters and reinvigorated them into a new progressive age. You guys need to catch up instead of staying stuck in the past.
And there is nothing you can do to stop the Bendis train, lol.
Brian Michael Bendis is a gateway writer of the worst kind. He's a bad storyteller, with a clusterfuck of story and characterization that isn't very well done by any aspect, but which attempts to compensate for its weaknesses by adding in excessive double pages and WORDS. The normal anon can see this as the shit it is, and may enjoy it, hate it or be indifferent to it, but all the while recognizing that the writer himself, regardless of their opinion, is plain bad.
However, these very aspects that try to smear over the shit of his core make him a breeding ground for aspie, unsociable tumblr faggots who engage in every kind of faggotry both online and in the real world. The superpowered characters all trying their hardest to look smart, the unending Bendisspeak, boring personalities, the whole quipping faggotry and everything about his stories fuels their escapist fantasies, while the retconned character backgrounds, emphasis on his waifus, and overall preachiness of the writer make it fit just right with the mary-sueish drives of your average redditor and his sense of unwarranted self-importance towards the world. Exactly the kind of shit that makes redditors and tumblr retards eat this shit right the fuck up.
Bendis is basically THE writer to attract the most hated comicbook fanbase known to /co/, which is why, regardless of individual opinions, it is the responsibility of every anon to shitpost the fuck out of this writer and everyone who likes it, and ensure that no Bendis thread (excpet for story times so we can see the trash for what it is) ever encourage /co/mblr to show their faces here.
And how would you know that anon?
Must have missed those thread
Can't see why since it's all just typicas bendis
>write every character with the same voice
>appearances by various popular characters from other series
>write them OOC too
Nigga, do you even know who you're talking about? He's the master of Marvel, the king of comics, the future Editor-in-Chief. He has 2 shows based on his creations, Powers and Jessica Jones, and someday Mile Morales will be the next Spider-man in movies or TV.
Sorry mate, but Bendis is the King of Marvel. Those on Team Bendis will guard any and all storylines created by Bendis, or expand on it. I mean look at this shit
Once he finally runs Marvel, we will enter an era of Bendis continuity. As long as there's a franchise with a movie or TV show, it won't be safe from Bendis Continuity.
He's the future Editor-in-Chief of Marvel, and the other writers at Marvel know it. The ones that aren't with him are off doing Star Wars.
No. I was talking about "Wow. All of this was totally worth it just for that."
This is a grown-ass man who is, at his youngest, in his mid 30s.
Strange was also paraphrasing Stark's earlier line with the "Awesome facial hair bros" line, so that idiocy is on him, too.
Tony's not even sounding like RDJ here. He sounds like the personification of an adolescent girl's tweets.
This. If you take out Star Wars' sales then you'll see that they're actually losing to based DC and are at an all time low. Not to mention the drops in sales form issues 1 to 2 for their books is some of the steepest drops the industry has ever scene. Marvel is literally going to be dead by the end of the year at this rate while DC's sales have been steadily increasing. Now with BvS and Suicide Squad coming out, and no one caring about the MCU anymore after how bad Jessica Jones, Ant-man, and Age of Ultron bombed, Marvel is finished and DC will be back on top like they've been for the past 50 years.
you guys need to have Bendis related images or kitty pride with the pasta or else it loses it's flavor.
I can help you guys out.
I imagine the people who like these comics are the same kind who buy those stupid nerd shirts at bookstores.
Seriously how fucking normie can Marvel get?
>I'm not shitposting
I don't really see what the problem is? I haven't read this, so perhaps there's more context I'm not seeing, but, it's seems like a joke to me. Strange is telling a joke. He's speaking in a way he wouldn't normally speak, for comic effect. The fact that it's uncharacteristic, is the joke.
Also, question: is he quoting Tony? Because that sounds like something Tony might say, and Strange quoting it back to him as a joke would make more sense than it just coming out of the blue. Just curious.
You said "/co/ was one person."You said everyone says this, but they don't mean it like that.
You're shitposting by putting words in other anons' mouths and making a meme out of a made-up bullshit used to incriminate others and disparage their opinions.
It's ridiculously out of character for Strange to the point where I thought panels from these issues were edits.
Bendis just has no fucking clue how to write different character voices. EVERYONE sounds exactly the same in his comics.
Marvel will not get better anytime soon. Events and #1 relaunches will continue to try and squeeze out every dime they can from their fanbase because Marvel is more concerned with short term profits than long term health of itself and the market. Newer, popular characters will continue to be some variation of young waifu-style girl with some combination of quirky, nerdy, geeky and fangirly personality to appeal to an increasingly emasculated fanbase. The only characters that will buck this trend are those who are changed to appear as they do in the movies in order to try to shamelessly cash in on the much, much more popular medium which has already deserted the comics side in favor of harboring itself fully under Disney's umbrella. Rampant pandering and obvious headline fishing gimmicks like pregnant superheros will continue in order to get pats on the head from random media outlets in hopes of getting additional publicity to get some non-comic reader to maybe pick up an issue or two with little regard to their existing readers who they (rightly) assume will put up with it and continue to buy anyway out of habit. This is the present and future of Marvel.
If you want good comics with funny banter I highly suggest you pick up anything else.
Fraction's Hawkeye is good. NextWAVE is god-tier. Also, anything written by John Rogers (being from /tg/ I'm sure you've read his Dungeons and Dragons series).
Nah. He plays magic a bit too straight, it doesn't feel mystical enough or subtle...
And the first issue's art got messed up in a few pages due to bad coloring and inking and Steve Dillon is scheduled to do #3.
First issue was a bit exposition heavy but I liked it enough. I usually give the first issue a pass to get the character across.
Vision and Scarlet Witch keep referencing each other as well.
Not really. Love the man's Starman, but it's cape, it's fantastic cape but it's...cape. And Scarlet Witch is a bit too cape for me. There's a page where she mentions how she sees all the spirits in the city, both good and bad and if you're going to use magic then you should play it all so good guy/bad guy.
Well there's only one issue out so I don't see why you wouldn't try it out yourself. I'd suggest giving it two issues though, the first one is mainly full of badly done exposition where she explains everything to the reader self insert(a useless cop). If the second one's really then maybe there's hope for the series, but if it's as bland as the first then there's no reason to put up with Dillon.
The real bad part is that Good books will be canceled while shit like this stays afloat, Xfags are also to blame because they complain about how horrible their books are but they still buy
>Also, question: is he quoting Tony? Because that sounds like something Tony might say, and Strange quoting it back to him as a joke would make more sense than it just coming out of the blue. Just curious.
That's exactly what he's doing.
No idea. These are the only artists they introduced so far.
Here's a page from Pulido.
They've been talking about forming 'rules' for magic for about 3 years now. Gillen kind of iceskated around the meta of it with his Demiurge storyline, but I guess now they're finally doing it.
I agreed, until I actually READ THE FUCKING SERIES. Doctor Strange is quoting something Tony Stark said back at him. Tony Stark is being written as the juvenile prick, and /co/ still doesn't read comics. The world is all well.
Juvenile humor is one thing.
Forcing an adult character to speak like he's a young girl is worse. It's not quite the same ballpark as a fart joke, but it's just as painful to see.
