Thanks, Petey Roy!
Fuck, well. You get the idea.
Yep, just send a self addressed stamped envelope.
Congrats, fellow ANDG member!
I got my card and letter from Petey Roy a couple days ago. I sent in my SASE the day after the first issue came out.
I was also pleased to see so many of my answers on the 80's favorites survey results.
Thanks anon! Glad to be a member.
>I was also pleased to see so many of my answers on the 80's favorites survey results.
That is sweet. The letter column and supplemental stuff really compliments the story so far.
No, i'm a fan because it's bad.
Just sick of the "shill" "viral marketing" cries that are all too prevalent as if everyone's trying to get one over on you. It's a solid book with a fun promotion/fan club. This is a board for comic books, promoting/discussing one isnt out of the realm of the ordinary.
>Harmful fun for fans
not that anon, but the number of "I JUST GOT MY CARD. WHERE'S YOURS?" posts is a little TOO consistent/convenient on both this board and /r/comicbooks.
I don't know what Paper Girls is, but this thread has convinced me to avoid it like the plague.
>not that anon, but the number of "I JUST GOT MY CARD. WHERE'S YOURS?" posts is a little TOO consistent/convenient on both this board and /r/comicbooks.
I'm the anon from >>78833775 and I posted a thread like you described a couple days ago.
I'm just a guy who reads comics who wanted to tell everyone I got my card and letter from Petey Roy.
Stop being paranoid. Some of us actually read comic books. Like the kind you hold in your hand.
I looked it up on Google Maps and it's...
a 24 hour mailbox rental!
some california anon should go stalk Brian K Vaughan
>Like the kind you hold in your hand.
And tbvh the quality of the paper and design and everything makes purchasing the floppies, at $3, with no ads, very worth it. Went from reading this to Bond this past week and the difference in quality is really noticeable.
>implying I give a shit about letters columns
>implying I give a shit about anyone /co/ considers "based"
>implying I want to see your shitty photo albums documenting your shit taste in comics
How about you just go ahead and fuck off.
I mean that's cool, but then why are you here?
True fan of the medium right here y'all.
>this pathetic attempt to peddle a comic to anons falls flat on its face
At least you tried, next time try being upfront about your motives instead of trying to build hype because you got a laminated card in the mail. It just rubs the wrong way.
At the very least do a storytime of the first issue or something if you want anons to get interested or involved with your work, show up in the storytime thread and do a QnA.
Yes you the fuck are. After a while, this is going to catch on around here, and everyone who hasn't read it is gonna get jumped as if they've commit some cardinal sin.
It was the same bullshit with Cerebus. Fucking hiveminding retards, the lot of you.
What fun is there to be had? You get a laminated card with your name on it, big whoop. All I'm seeing on social media is a bunch of comics "journalists", some would be writers and the current comics creatives clique (Kate Leth Leth etc) desperately trying to push this thing.
Your shilling technique is paperthin and the internet sees right through it, have a nice day. I hope your comic does well but I'm not buying.
you morons literally think vaughan has nothing better to do than shill on /co/? it's BKV, it's going to sell well regardless of whether it's recc'd by the /co/ hivemind. we're an inconsequential drop in the bucket of comics sales
it's sad that so many people have been reduced to this level of cynicism when it's obvious that the people sharing their membership cards are doing so to foment a sense of community
How about instead of just making a thread to show you got a laminated while providing little context as to why or how you got it, you actually contribute to the /co/mmunity by storytiming the thing and THEN post about the stupid card you got.
This is why you don't share something exclusive to /co/
it will trigger bitter grapes and youll get hated
Issue 1 storytime:
>Is it tumblr shit or more like reddit shit?
There's one girl who calls people faggots and another girl who tells her it's wrong to do that.
I'm not sure which website that is, but there's also a pretty good story too.
Phrasing statements as questions is more a tumblr thing, so as a fan I'm going to assume it's tumblr shit. This is going to get really popular on /co/ in a few months then.
He was implying that since YOU are a fan it must be tumblr shit. You might be from 4chan, but maybe you should have spent more time venturing out to school because your reading comprehension is shit.
You uppity wiener.
>tfw love the series but see it getting shit on ITT
i-it's not that bad, guys.
I have mixed feelings about Paper Girls.
I really like the art and main characters and would love to molest KJ, but I have no idea where this ride is going.
Maybe some references go over my head because I am not even American, but what's the point of comic that's just fucking references to 1988?
Alot of it so far seems there to just stir up nostalgic feelings, or in the case of the dream sequences act as symbolism for later events. I don't think we'll really know how impactful these symbols are in the story for at least another couple of issues.
