But I've always been interested in the political implications of clearly the strongest race, the Eliatropes, being from the outset aligned with the Sadida people. The other races, particularly those typically seen as devious such as the Srams, Xelors etc., must be worried about such a blatent power shift in the World of Twelve

However they don't need to go full Game of Thrones, this is a French kids show lest we forget

Problem is, even high-ranking people like Prince Armand barely believes the Eliatrope race even exists.
And the Prince of Brakmar brought up a lot of conjectures for why the majority of power-brokers shouldn't even bother with them if they do exist. All that meeting ended up doing was portray the potential Eliatrope immigration as a too expensive to pay off. Even in the OVAs, no one bothers to come to Sadida's aid, except the Brotherhood. Everyone else stayed away. And that was the most powerful people...

Maybe they'd be more inclined now that Ogrest is gone.

That's true, I think it's worth stating that the potential for the Eliatropes really can't be realised right now with most being infantile or dead and the remainder, Qilby, pretty damn crazy

There's also the internal schizms to deal with, currently Yugo and Adamai aren't on the best of terms (although that will surely get attention in S3) and then there's Phaeris and Qilby who aren't the best of friends so the Eliatropes aren't likely going to want to be involved in the World of Twelve's affairs until they sort out their own, bar Yugo who can't really separate himself from them at this point

For this and the issue of where do you house an entire race of people it's perhaps not worth dealing with the Eliatropes yet but there is already a bond being formed between them and the Sadidas which could prove fruitful down the line

The children of Emrub also have them if you recall but there's also the practical issue that revealing another Eliatrope (such as Chibi) means that they have to become central to the story in some manner or at least more than a fringe character, which Chibi was in S2 but I'd be surprised if he still is in S3

They made it as a trilogy with a bit of a sense of closure at the end (or at least a happy to-be-continued ending), but it's very obvious that there's more to it. If you want insane nuking damage you can go Air/Fire and choose some BnBs like Hydrant/Dust for crazy AOE damage or Aging/Hand for Single Target damage.
If you want AP shenanigans you can go Air/Water, though it's not as damaging as the former.
Or you can be Tri but Tri gear is kinda a pain to get, they really start coming into play at higher levels like 120 or so considering drops/loot, or earlier if you dare go into crafting them. With tri you can get into a rhythm as Tick and Tock turns play into Fire and Water respectively, so you can get tons of damage on Tick then remove AP on Tock, rinse and repeat.

Water/Fire has the worst syngery. Air adds additional damage and properties onto Fire and Water when used properly (Air/Fire on Tick, Air/Water on Tock) and also is a loose utility branch (teleporting stuff). There's also Punishment which I highly recommend taking because it's an extremely damaging Air spell that only real requirement is to cast on your hours for full damage.
As fot stat distribution give me a moment to breakdown each category, also helps if you tell me what build you want (Air/Fire, Tri, etc.)

I'd say just dump points into general Damage, there are theorycrafting about the secondary damage such as Range Damage potentially adding into more damage, but the exact stat distro is unknown as to when it's really effective, also depending on what kind of Xelor you are you'll be using multiple damage types (AOE, Single Target, Range) so just stick with general Damage.
