That's stupid. One of the first things they established of the character was that she had graduated high school but wasn't really doing anything with her life other than her band, which she kept flaking on because of superheroing. Her dad wanted her to go to college but she's all "muh band/muh peter" and didn't.

They have to keep a trademark up, which means having to keep publishing a comic called "The Ultimates" which is hard when you've blown up the Ultimate Universe. So they just repurposed the name for a new, unrelated team.

Works for me. I'd rather have "the Ultimates" than "The Fantastic Avengers/Cosmic Avengers/Marvelous Avengers" or whatever dumbass Avenger derivative they would have gotten otherwise.
