>War Machine plasma sword
>Iron Man getting BTFO
How hype are you /co/
So hyped, I'm 100 convinced that I'll be murdered before I get to see everything this year.
When will the Russos are good meme end? Winter Soldier's shakycam and spastic editing ruined it's already boring action scenes and the overall story fucking sucked. This movie will be just as trash as the rest of the MCU (aside from Iron Man 1 & 3).
How does this work, exactly. Didn't the movie say he retained his mass even when he was small? So the tip of the arrow would be weighed down like a full grown man was on it?
>How hype are you /co/
Not very. I'm really tired of the MCU and seeing the same fucking people yet again.
Im hyped enough, That I will be pre ordering my tickets at Ticketmaster(tm) for the IMAX 3D with 4D sound.
Ill also enjoy a Refreshing Mountain Dew, while I eagerly await for this Cinematic masterpiece that will be the Summer event for a whole new Generation of comic nerds like me.
Get a load of this cuck
I'm pretty indifferent after TWS I dropped the MCU. Those shakey cam fights made me nauseous and it was impossible to tell what was going on. It's like they watched the first Bourne movie without seeing the sequels.
Just you wait, the movie will probably only feature Peter as Peter and he will be inspired by Cap to take up the identity of Spider Man. Gotta make the Spidey movie an origin story after all!
What people forget is that they have released a short filk where it's revealed that there IS a real Mandarin and he's quite pissed that someone used his name.
So I was already slightly tired of the MCU a long time ago, and Ant Man was the final stroke for me. I think it was good for what it was meant to be, which was a traditional Marvel flick, but thats exactly why I was so bored of it.
Marvel stumbled onto a great formula with Iron Man 1, and since then they really have not change it. Every film and every scene feels like they went through a checklist to make sure they had all the boxes ticked. I also feel like they too often throw away any gravitas a scene has with a quip. I know "quip" is a very common dismissal of MCU films but I think it really is a serious problem.
One thing that does give me hope is if CW can replicate the Winter Soldier. I think thats the best MCU film to get the balance between humour and tension right.
I think the MCU is pretty much unstoppable now, but I do see people, especially people my age who have watched all the movies getting fatigued with how similar they all are.
Strange I am currently cautiously hyped for, pending more info.
Now I only need to waste brains cells figuring out how Cap Marvel and Black Panther will fit in the damn timeline because doesn't at least Marvel come out between both Infinity War movies?
I'm pretty sure they'd want to include their first big female heroine in that event.
Truth be told the "formula" meme is designed to be as vague as it sounds. Try and pin anyone down to be more specific on it ad all you will get is vague answers that could be used for any and damn near all films "there was jokes", "there was a one liner", "there was action! especially in the 3rd act!".
It's a blind criticism of a successful franchise. And when a franchise with 11 films in 8 years main criticism is something as vague as "formula" it really is a compliment.
For starters you can slap "formula" to just about anything. From Star Wars, to James Bond to Oscar Bait to Indie flicks. The phrase is banal when talking about the quality of a film.
The only real truth to using "formula" across the MCU that actually makes sense is this: Heart, Action, likable characters, a love of the source material, and most concerned with the audience having a good time. This is generally true across all MCU films to varying degree.
Not very hyped. I watched Age of Ultron and was bored out of my mind. Why are fight scenes in Marvel movies such shit? Now you put the storyline of civil war into the mix, how can I be hyped?
>What people forget is that they have released a short filk where it's revealed that there IS a real Mandarin and he's quite pissed that someone used his name.
As I said, I don't fucking care about your nerd meltdown over a shitty yellow peril villain. Iron Man 3 is the best of the Iron Man films irrespective of retcons introduced in some shitty short produced in order to placate the tasteless stupid nerds raging on the internet. "Not muh Mandarin!" is not a valid complaint about a films quality.
>Not that anon, but Hulk was filming in 07, before Iron Man released.
And? Iron Man is nothing like the Hulk. Nothing like Thor. Nothing like Cap 1 or Winter Soldier or Civil War, Nothing like GOTG, nothing like Iron Man 3, Hell nothing like either Avengers.
It's a weak meme desu senpai.
My dad once took a shit at nintendo.
>Thor and Hulk go on their space adventure to contact Hela/death about sparring Asgard from destruction/ragnarok
>At the end they manage to save Asgard and are all happy about it
>Thanos out of fucking nowhere shows up after Odin (Loki) and straight up breaks Asgard leaving for a cliff-hanger. Only Thor, Hulk and Sif survive (and loki is taken)
Black Panther happens before IW
>Wakanda is the home to the soul gem
>The vibranium is a result of the inpact
>They don't know about it, but they use some mystical herbs that grow around the area to connect with their ancestors
>The soul gem is indirectly pulling all the other gems towards earth and earthlings, which is why all the stones have veered towards the earth.
>The whole movie is about T'Challa convincing his people that wakanda should help the rest of the world with their space technology because the herbs give him some sense of danger to come (result of thanos gathering the gems)
Captain Marvel happens between the IW
>Mar-Vell is a kree living in disguise and tries to stop thanos from destroying Xandar and getting the power stone but fails.
>Thanos sends him flying towards the earth in IW and he crashes into Carol's plane who was sent to check some hostile alien material after the avengers have left to fight in space, she goes into a coma and gets her powers.
It's pretty easy to integrate these in one way or another. The one I can't see is Ant-Man and Wasp.
>Takes away screentime that could be used for other stuff.
It also takes away reason for females being there.
Real talk, Marvel movies are a great date option. Take advantage anon.
>Cap/Widow or Clint/Widow
Do.... do you enjoy inset? Real question.
>Not just shippingwise.
Clearly building up a relationship since film 1 is not shipping. Your examples on the other hand..... That's some goddamn shipping. Stopit.
He's apparently the audience surrogate, and has a big role
And something that will piss people off
apparently Tony helps him make his web shooters
>It's why they have taken B and C listers and made them bigger names at the box-office than Superman and arguably Batman.
Shit at this point you could dredge up the most obscure and unpopular Marvel character you could think of and they'd make the movie on a dare and still make money.
It's gonna be a Rocky thing. Cap only wins the moral fight but loses the physical battle. There's no other resolution to a two-good-guy fight besides the Rocky 3, which wouldn't fit at all here.
Keep Mar-Vell as a Kree spy on Earth thing and just borrow from the Kree Invasion on EMH which was basically the Avengers trying to stop an incoming Kree Invasion.
Except just make it about Carol trying to stop it with a defected Mar-Vell with Abigail Brand as supporting cast (if the X-Men people don't own her).
On the baddies have Yon Rogg and Minerva or Una Rogg, they are basically all Kree baddis.
1, Winter Soldier
3. Guardians of the Galaxy
6. Jessica Jones
7. Age of Ultron
8. Captain America
9. Iron Man 3
10. Iron Man 1
12. Agent Carter
13. Agents of Shield
14. The Dark World
15. Iron Man 2
16. The Incredible Hulk
Because Marvel Comics trying to make their own brand of flavor by emulating the MCU and pandering to non comic readers that they became bigger shit.
It's funny but the MCU is actually being more faithful to the older comics, heck the comics rejuvenated Strange and took away his grey temples but the MCU made Strange and older guy with grey hair temples.
Cap 2 > GotG > IM1 > JJ > DD > Ant-Man > Cap1 > AC > AoU > Avengers > IM 3 > IM 2 > Thor 1 > Thor 2 > TIH
Except both GotG and Avengers are basically instant classics just by the sheer charisma and timely existance, even though they are more flawed than Cap2 and AoU, respectively. Also, Thor 2 is one of the prettiest along with GotG even though it's not good. I'm a sucker for the marvel colorful nebulas. The funeral scene is awesome though. Avengers looked like shit, even for Whedon's other work.
So, Spider-Man's popular enough in the MCU to get his own popsicle, but does he get any of the profit?
Got to disagree. Some rough CG spots but there was great stuff in AoU.
I don't think photography was an issue in any of the phase two movies.
Cap 2 was slick (the rooftop chase, for example), although it seemed to need a bit more rendering time at times, it looked blurred-ish.
IM3 was beautiful. all CGI was fucking perfect.
AoU had a couple of blemishes, though. Thor at the begining, Ultron/Legionair grabbing the sceptre and the last Iron Man Armor looked pretty shitty.
Avengers had this problem where the CGI was almost perfect (the Hulk looked much better than AoU, even if the model had less detail), but the blocking and lighting was absolute garbage. It was like a cheap TV-crew was following the real Hulk and Iron Man around. Also, if not for Thor 1 it would win the dutch angle award.
I am conscious that Steve won't come out victories in Civil War, his life is tragedy and him basically getting shat on one way or another so I am not expecting him to win just to never stop fighting, inspire some people along the way to never give up, and have him and his team give Tony and his team a humiliating whooping until the time comes when Steve is taken down.
I mean there's that scene in the trailer with Steve and Bucky owning him with the shield, I liked that, but there is no way Steve himself is even a match for Tony in the suit, Tony went toe to toe with Thor and his armor can take getting manhandled by Hulk.
There as also a scene that a reporter from EW saw being filmed that involved Tony flying down at a high speed and hitting Steve making him fall down leaving him dazed and disoriented, so he can take down Iron Man by himself.
I don't think so but there was a supposed spoiler which is more of a rumor that says he does but I don't think it will happen
I think they are banking on Tony pulling his punches not to kill Steve. He's still well meaning even if he is a jackass and a prick. He would never try to actually kill Cap. Consciously at least, maybe out of jealous rage for daddy's love.
If they hadn't shown the Hulkbuster in the trailers, everyone would've creamed their pants and praised the movie.
I don't get why they keep trying to oversell the franchise. The Star Wars brand sold itself for greater effect (the movie wasn't even that great and everyone loved it), and I'm pretty sure Marvel could do the same to it's own smaller scale. A lot of the spectacle works better as a surprise.
But we already know almost everything about CW 4 months away....
Heh. I'm game.
Nolan's trilogy has terrible fight scenes. Every movie.
The only 2 good action moments across 3 movies are 2 chase scenes.
Batman begins isn't great, the villain are bland and one note. Watered down in the name of gritty realism.
Dark Knight is better than any Iron Man film but Winter Soldier and I'm predicting Civil War have it beat.
DKR is god awful, worse than any of the IM and Cap films. 2 terrible villains and absolutely DESTROYS the batman character. TDKR is literally a fucking moron who thinks he's the smartest fucker in the room.
>all this delusion
Dude get some taste and stop watching Disney children's movies exclusively. You are embarrassing yourself.
>Also praising MCU
>bitching about villains
Please my sides they can't handle this.
>TDKR is better than every MCU movie except IM1, GOTG and TWS
I liked that part in Ant-Man. It all happened off-screen, but they set it up for them being a couple by AM&W. They didn't rob you of any of your time but they established their version of one of the oldest Marvel couples.
Now they only need to go and have an adventure movie in the quantum realm trying to find Catherine Zeta-Janet and let her become bipolar from being suspended conscious in time for 30 years (like Catherine Zeta-Jones is irl and Pym is in the comics), slap Hank Pym's face and become red queen (like Hope in the comics), making it the most meta movie ever.
Shit and I said I didn't know what to do here >>78807387. There we have it.
And if you want me to break it down further
>Disney children's movies exclusively.
This is where you lost the argument.
Honestly think to yourselves about that trilogy. Think about how terrible the character of BATMAN is, how terrible his career was.
TDKR did some serious damage. Hell the beginning of TDK Ruins the end of TDK.
>Better than Cap 1
Cap 1 is the underrated gem of the MCU.
It so perfectly establishes Steve and shows that his true climax as a character is sacrificing himself despite of Peggy instead of a fist fight with red skull. It's a true "heart trumps muscle" story that no one ever appreciates.
>Jumping on a grenade
>I don't like bullies
>The humble smile at the theater
>Still helping the military despite not doing what he truly wants to do
>Feels like a trained monkey
Nolan wishes he could write compelling emotional characters like that, the cold British cunt.
Why? They had chemistry, you could tell they initially didn't like each other but they started liking each other as the movie progressed, the romance had to wait because both of them were doing more important shit plus it made sense in the end.
Plus you get to see that relationship develop more into romantic territory in Ant-Man and Wasp
What gets me about that movie is that it had a sad ending "I had a date" it really bummed everyone in my theater.
And if you think about Winter Soldier it was more of a bittersweet one but Bucky was alive and you had the hope of Steve and Sam finding Bucky.
Civil War most likely will be another sad ending for Steve though, damn, can he ever win?
>Batman Begins wasn't the best one of the Nolan children.
If you are a big Batman fan I can see you thinking that. It does the best with the character, being an origin story it would be a travisty if it didn't.
Fight scenes still suck though and they took an interesting villain and striped away everything that was interesting about him.
Another big sin about that Nolan trilogy is the hard rule on NO meta-humans.
Yeah it was a bit of a bummer at the time, but it works great with the rest of his movies and it even manages to connect to the Avengers despite Whedon's best efforts to turn him into the weepy Malcolm Reynolds.
If Civil War is as good as James Gunn said, Cap is preparing himself to have one of the few trilogies where all the films have similar (positive) quality without any major stinkers. The only other one I can think of is LotR.
>they didn't even watch the Bourne sequels
It looks like Bourne 1 dude. Lots of shakey cam so all you can tell is they are fighting. You cannot tell me what is actually going on in any of those fights. It reminded of a cartoon with no violence allowed how everytime they'd punch it'd quick cut.
Now fuck off with further console wars.
The camera is excellently handled in Winter Soldier. Gives the sense of a struggle and you can easily follow the fights.
Watch the ending of quantum of solace to know what bad camera work is.
It looks fucking awful. Its way too fast pace to see whats going on, the video I watched barely even showed the hands making contact, just their face expressions and their upper arms swinging around. Whoever was in charge of filming couldn't keep the camera still, even in shots where they were fighting. The edits, while you may not believe it, are shit and actual critiques. No one likes this "i feel like im in the fight" shit. They cut to the arms, then to the back of buck, and then facing bucky.. its just a big mess.
>this is a good fight to marvelbabies
This was actually the first Marvel film I saw in theaters, got invited by some friends so why not. Funny film at first, but after jokes in every fucking scene I got tired of it. No one felt like they were in any real danger, generic villain is generic, and boring fight scene such as vid related.
I'm sorry, Marvelkeks, marvel fight scenes are just boring.
I've seen all of those, excluding Eastern Promises, and those are good fights too, what is your point?
Hollis's isn't even a "good fight", but its a great scene.
Here, I can list good fight scenes too.
Did you know that Russo Bros are inspired by the Raid choreographers, even?
the skyfall fight is great because it's one single take and you can tell exactly who is fighting who. it's perfectly shot by roger deakins as well.
the watchmen fight is great because it tells you everything you need to know about the character(his old-school boxing stance, the way his left arm is guarding his face) against his opponents. the score also gives it a very good emotional impact
go ahead and meme away though
>Has nothing to say.
Glad you conceded.
>Did you know that Russo Bros are inspired by the Raid choreographers, even?
and the utterly failed at re-creating it. I like a lot of marvel films(I'm sick of this console war shit), but citing WS as having impressive fight scenes is off base.
What is there to say? You are clearly underage and have terrible taste. Skyfall had some of the best fights and cinematography of the last decade. It's the based Deke. You are an underage child arguing Disney films are great movies. I only come into threads like this to laugh at you people.
>Skyfall had some of the best fights and cinematography of the last decade
bullshit, he basically got the studio to make Civil War because he wanted more of a role
>>War Machine plasma sword
