ITT: Shows that were treated badly by the networks
Only two years on Nick, then it was cancelled. For whatever reason, it took them three more years to air the season 3 episodes.
There are Nuremberg officers whose defenses were more plausble than Disney's
> sir, the show has the highest ratings on iTunes of any television show, regardless of genre and the money is –
How are the TOYS selling
> well, you see, the largest demographic are girls
SHUT. IT. DOWN.
I was never that big a fan of this show, but apparently s3 was leaning more in the direction of Sheldon and jenny getting together, and Brad was portrayed increasingly as an incompetent buffoon.
This disappointed the fans I knew on Toonzone, because they thought Brad was a perfectly fine character. After seeing the unaired episodes, they said they were "glad" the show got canned.
>Spongebob will switch it to CG around 2018.
>FOP will become a a series of Shorts show during the Cartoon Block.
>Rugrats, Hey Arnold, and CatDog will be brought back as, "Returning Veterans".
>All 3 will be 15 minute episodes and brought back at first for a Season.
>Rugrats will stay to the style of the Babies imagining scenarios and playing them out.
>Hey Arnold will be a Sequel to the original series, but played off as a "Soft reboot".
>Two original Cartoons will be tested, by no word on them.
I've heard things like that, yeah. That it wasn't cancelled prematurely is about all you can say.
Nickelodeon short-changed two of /co/'s favorite Nickelodeon shows.
And Nick apparently tried to back out of Legend of Korra when they found out the protagonist was going to be female.
You guys probably know this already, but this woman is the reason Nick shot themselves in the head back in 2006-2007.
As soon as she became president:
>90s-early 00s shows were removed
>Shows like Avatar, Chalkzone, and Jenny the waifu were treated badly
>Terrible shows like Naked brothers band, Back to the barnyard, and Tak and the power of Juju came on, and Spongebob and tweencoms were spammed every day for hours on end.
>Dan "The Man with the Master Plan to get her into My Van" Schneider basically controlled the network and turned it into "soft porn for ephebophiles"
I didn't see any of the season 3 episodes until I looked it up online a couple years ago, I thought it was canceled after season because that was as far as the repeats were showing
There was a stretch I liked where it felt like Brad and Sheldon both had about the same chance of ending up with Jenny.
Brad and Jenny had natural chemistry, but he and Jenny seemed to think of each other as just friends.
Especially since Brad fancied himself a cassanova and wanted to go out with girls he would have to impress.
And while Sheldon was a lot more romantically interested in Jenny, he came on too strong, and seemed as much in love with the idea of being with Jenny as the reality.
Fox treats their shows so badly that two of them had to continue on other networks.
And only un-cancelled what is now one of their biggest hits after a successful syndication run on another network.
Yeah, I remember when the finale aired and they were marathoning up to it. The guide showed a specific time but the finale ended up being played like 3 hours earlier than scheduled. I remember being so mad I couldn't enjoy the first 30 minutes
Yeah that was f***ing weird.
They went on hiatus for like two months, then aired the last ten episodes in a single week. AFTER "accidentally" leaking some episodes online, and even spoiling the finale weeks before it aired. Someone really had it out for that show.
It's just really bland and repetitive and all characters other than Jenny are forgettable.
It's like they half-assed everything thinking that Jenny was cool enough to keep the show running.
I heard they treated Avatar badly
these fucking idiots what were they thinking it was their most popular show at the time
also they couldve put a lil more into the animation budget. I remember some B2 episodes looking realllyyy bad
heres a screenshot i took just now
i was rewatching the series recently and that fucking 3D animated water and the cheap background completely took me out of it
it just look extremely cheap and its even worse when you see it in motion
People want to fuck the British fashionista, the ghetto shortstack, and the three-legged robot, too. I also remember that acid can't melt through glass.
No they don't. There's a big difference between saying something you would do and actually doing it. No one here would actually go through with fucking a robot girl if they were given the chance.
It depends on the ratio of robot to girl. If it's a non-sentient body with feedback capacity, it'd just be like an upgraded RealDoll. If it was fully sentient, identified as female, had the right equipment and was somewhere within my league without programmed dependence, I'd probably make it my wife no matter how metallic it looked.
>i mean, don't htey know that most kids don't give a fuck about toys
Here's the problem in a nutshell.
Stu Snyder who we all generally hate had a bone to pick with WB forcing DC IP on his network AND requiring CN to pay licensing fees to WB and THEN dictating what could stay and what could go.
He hated DC properties and when he was hired, he required all existing shows to "re-audition" to be continued which is why suddenly the entire creative staff of Teen Titans was shunted into an original property named Ben 10.
Stu was a cunt, but he had a point about having his job turned into being DC's house nigger.
>they take so long to air because they are fully hand drawn, not because disney hates them
The Korean studio that animated GF was tightly synchronized with an American studio and if you'd seen Shirobako you'd know that studios don't produce episodes one at a time. It's not feasible.
The money was there, the pipeline was good, but Disney threw hiatuses at a show to deliberately drop ratings just like CN did with YJ. And surprise, surprise, Hirsch isn't going to work with them ever again and is already signed to another network.
Tak seems like it was always supposed to be a cartoon eventually. It wasn't making it a cartoon that was a bad idea, it was letting whoever they put in charge of it be in charge of it that fucked it. The show changed too many things to satisfy fans of the games and wasn't good enough on its own merits to bring in new fans. It was just poorly conceived all around.
>I heard they treated Avatar badly
The show was slated for 4 seasons and halfway through s3 when the writers were pacing it as such Nick told them to wrap it up by the end of the season.
This isn't just America or TV. Sumire16! had to wrap years of storyline in a few issues of Shonen Jump because the publisher decided they wanted to run something else in its place.
>the reason Nick shot themselves in the head back in 2006-2007
Nick's the only net that still thinks gambling on unknowns is a good idea. CN had that one contest that yielded RS and UG, but notice that they held UG at arms' length and tried to get away with demanding SMFS instead until Pete showed them his contract.
CatDog had a similar problem. It only had 8 episodes for season 4 (compared to the 20 each seasons before), and yet it took nearly 5 full years to finish airing it, finally completing in 2005.
With no announcement.
They had plans for the Outsiders, Two-Face, and Penguin, if the first season was anything to go by.
The producers haven't had the chance to talk about details like most others do because of the gag order.
I'm not just spouting dank memes for the sake of it. Tell me. What do you think this board is? What do you think this board is for? Who do you think was the object of a good 25% (citation needed) of /co/'s first cartoon crush?
>Aired on Thursdays in the evening
>Moved to Fridays in the evening
>Moved to Mondays at midnight
>Canned, team split to work on other stuff
>Disney pulls the plug on the third movie
>Bruce Boxleitner says he's done and won't do Tron anymore
It's the worst franchise to be a fan of.
All you need is a fleshlight (or one of those fancy motorized things that stroke your dick for you if you want to go into overkill), tools to cut a hole into whatever a given robot's crotch is made of with decent precision, and if you're feeling really kind/want to prove you're great at this robot-modification shit, some way to add sensory shit to the newly-installed genitals so your robo-waifu's able to have a good time too. Maybe she's already got some kind of advanced touch sensors and shit you could extend into/remove and reuse to make pleasure sensors, fuck if I know.
Boom, now you've got a robot with a perfectly-usable pussy, possibly even one that makes her feel good too assuming you give enough of a shit to implement that. It doesn't even need to be limited to humanoids, if there's a suitable space of unused chassis or a limb attachment that can hold a silicone cunt, it'll work. Hell, if you're really weird, you could even just fucking coat a robot in the things, so its external layer is just a wall of artificial vaginas, bonus points if they're motorized and the whole godforsaken abomination constantly quivers.
Point of all this is, it's not only doable, it's laughably-easy compared to practically any other aspect of robotics like AI or physical hardware. In a decade or two from now when household robots are commonplace, any common dipshit could take a saw to his female robot's crotch (or anywhere else really), plug an artificial pussy in there, set her to say sexy things while gyrating her body and get pumping his load into it all within the span of an afternoon. Someone whose knowledge of robots went deeper than just buying them from a company like they're the new iphone could make the thing work exactly like the organic original, complete with the robot cumming too.
In Asia, the season 3 episodes were shown from 2006-2007, as they should've been.
However, in the U.S., the show completely went off the air in 2005 after the "Escape from cluster prime" movie, then aired the season 3 episodes in 2008-2009 on Nicktoons Network.
With no announcement.
>The show was slated for 4 seasons
FUCK YOU NICK REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WHY DIDNT IT HAPPEN
Received like no promotion or advertising and was pushed to shitty timeslots.
Apparently a lot of journalists also only saw a really shitty two-minute clip they prepared for the show prior to premiere and judged it off of that.
>but Disney threw hiatuses at a show to deliberately drop ratings just like CN did with YJ.
But that's wrong
Disney aired episodes when they aired them to A)try and make each episodes an "event" (thus causing mediocre episodes like Roadside Attraction to sting much more) in an attempt to appeal to the rabid fanbase, and B)try and garner the most amount of viewers statistically possible.
Disney wasn't trying to kill GF. On the contrary, apparently a big part of why they stretched out season three so much was because they were hoping Alex would change his mind. They want more GF because they don't have anything ready to really take its place. The closest thing is Star Vs., and the fanbase there isn't nearly as expansive.
fucked by two companies
>Sony sells tv rights to Disney
>Sony still owns the rights to this
>Disney does not attain those rights for w/e reason
>Disney makes their own show, steering clear of designs and storylines brought up in Spec Spidey
They didn't make the toys because CN was pissed they went ahead with making the robot clear. Making a clear plastic robot was more expensive to produce than CN was willing to shell out and the Art Director was just like fuck it we're making a quality show, and they went ahead and did whatever. It put them at odds and CN went out of their way to can it.
There were also zero toys that I can recall for Avatar. Why the hell were there never action figures or something? From what I understand they were like "oh a lot of the characters are GIRLS therefore we cannot sell toys. What boys would play with GIRL figures!?" I would have murdered someone for action figures of the Gaang back when I was a kid. Katara and Toph were cool, and kids don't care if an action figure is a girl or whatever. They just want the charactes from the show.
Fuck I want this show so much.
I don't know why, but this show like... It connected to me. It was so good. I honestly think it could have been another show on say the level of Avatar, in its ability to combine action, comedy, likable, interesting characters, with a whole slew of other genres.
LIke... The show had a real nice tinge of genuinely creepiness to it sometimes.
But at the same time it understands youth culture better than so many other shows. So many shows are just flat out out-dated or they're comically wrong... But Titan here got it fucking right. I knew they had it right when I was suddenly watching someone twerk on god damn Cartoon Network.
Fuck I want this show back. It had so much... Creativity, heart, passion behind it.
>Why no Katara or Toph? Toph was my favorite.
Mattel was still operating under the assumption boys didn't want to play with girl characters. This was the first time it REALLY came back and bit them on the ass, because everyone wanted a Katara figure and Roku and Arctic Aaang shelvewarmed hard.
>There were also official Avatar Legos.
Pic related is an example.
>Anons think Girls killed YJ and not because it was a show targeted at teens, the demographic LEAST likely to buy toys.
It's an internet rumor that CN killed it for girls, its entirely 100% because the show didn't sell toys because it was for Teens.
I'm pretty sure all I watched on Nick at that point was avatar and old spongebobs, and I think I recall talking about how shit all the new shows coming out (that meat show with the puppets, that show with the spy family, and probably some other shit I don't remember) were with some friends. When the live action tween comedies took over I pretty much stopped watching the channel.
This show has no bigger promotion on ABC Family (Freeform) besides this promo of the first episode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85UG_87h8ao
It's like the fish without water. It's been only for month and nothing more.
MTV's "Downtown" got one season of 13 episodes, and was cancled because MTV worried it might "Interfere with ratings for Daria" or some bullshit like that.
Nonsense, it has some promotion, like this pic related
It can go both ways, this show for example has gone way too far long.
