I think Robin War and the Justice League double-ship have to do with DC's increased marketshare, but the real shocker is Guardians of Infinity.

Considering Marvel would be closer to even with DC without Star Wars prior to this month, it's interesting. Looks like the articles from LCS owners about people finally not responding well to the constant reboots as well as the ANAD shakeups and line are correct.

This is the thing armchair analysts keep forgetting about in the DC doom posts. DC has less market share, but that's because the market has increased due to all the normies buying Star Wars comics. They're doing fine and even getting more money than the previous years overall. Star Wars is pretty much a third of Marvel's business at this point and it's bound to grow.

Oh course they arent respomding well. You cant expect this to work more then 2 times. Its confusing and unnecessary. Marvel needs to let their books reach a benchmark in numbers. Most of DC's books are reaching 50 soon and the books Marvel wants you to read havent made it pass 10 before being relaunched.

Pretty sure Marvel charges $1 more per book than DC on average. Also, look at the fucking charts. The main reason Marvel is selling more than DC is solely due to Star Wars.

IMO, the problem is that people are simply stuck in the mindset that there are only two publishers, DC and Marvel. That's why people spend so much time comparing them exclusively to each other and not to the rest of the market as a whole.

For /co/, whichever one is #1 must be getting there unfairly, and whichever one is #2 must be the poor beleaguered unfairly-mistreated underdog. In /co/'s ideal world, Marvel and DC would each have 50% of the market (and everyone else can just bugger off).

Even if they didn't Conner & Palmiotti are pushing the Mason/Harley pairing anyway

Basically Star Wars is doing gangbusters and Disney had the right idea moving the license from Dark Horse back to Marvel. (Plus, it made total sense to keep things in house)

The real question is how long Star Wars is going to stay super hot. All of its merchandise is doing really well thanks to the new movie.

Overall, I'm glad to see this news that DC is doing better. I think normal Marvel has frustrated a lot of LCS and their patrons will all the reboots and the way Secret Wars played out.
