What was her shtick again? I skipped right over the first half of Thor v2 and she crops up as a plot device towards the end of the second half. Something about being an ayy lmao?
She's more powerful now in her true cosmic being form, though it was pretty dumb to get rid of her just as she was being used again, same for Ultragirl who just dropped off the face of the planet after a while.
She's a cosmic being whose purpose is to help evolve sentient being to the next level of existence but she hadn't yet fully transcended into her cosmic form. Thanos destroyed her home world and she apparently burned out the bulk of her powers helping Thor, and transformed herself into an asgardian and tried to become his sidekick, seeing as everyone she ever knew was obliterated by Thanos.
Turns out that her powers weren't gone she was shirking her cosmic duties to hang out with the Odinson.
She didn't even have a cameo in secret wars, and that shit had practically everyone who has ever held a hammer as a member of the Thor corps.
But why would Marvel want a fake Thor around when they can have the real Thor instead?
Hell her boyfriend, Justice, didn't even ask her to join the new version of the new warriors. He just started hitting on Vertigo from salem's seven, and also forgot that Ultragirl even existed.
Wait, did this really happen? You might be joking, but this is Marvel here.
Thunderstrike was kind of douche during the mini, he got on everyone's nerves and even when they finally made it to safety, so he got swift kick to the balls because even in his asgardian form that's still a tender area.
Amadeus Cho deserved it for trying to force them into a team just becasue.
She wasn't really dropped by Carol, Stormin' Norman used the power of litigation to make her surrender the suit so that he could give it to Moonstone. Ultragirl started fucking Bance not long after.
I wish that they would bring some of them back, Spinner, Telemetry, Johnny cool, or Nonstop.
Gamma Corps fought Hulk, and Hulkling is pretty mid-profile hero whose had some publicity.
I'm honestly surprised nobody's used Ultra Girl. You'd think valley girl Supergirl pastiche would fly with the Tumblr generation. Make her the social media superheroine who Vines, streams, Instragrams and everything all of her stuff. Pair her up with Screwball as a somewhat friend/somewhat rival who work together mainly to promote each other or something and it could work.
He's also the son of one of Luke Cage's first enemies, Shades.
1. Cho is the one that brought the team together. He is the one talking.
2. Robbie didn't even exist when this was made. Alejandra did though
What's worse? Being utterly forgotten like Ultragirl, or being shat on in your every appearance like Firestar?
She was a fucking Avenger and then it's been 10 years of downhill from there.
The former. It's possible to recover from the latter as you're at least kept somewhat in the minds of the fans. The latter means you'll never be developed and only show up as background filler or when someone needs to be killed off.
Or you'll get "revived" by being "reinvented" into a character whose only similarity to any previous stories is the name.
Firestar has her moments
Ya know, away from 616
Nope. They just don't like JaneThor and will accept any replacement. They would even accept Torunn
Remember when they showed up in universe working for Maria Hill.
I think a lot of it is that there's not really much of a role she holds. She's too cosmic to be an Asgardian but too Asgardian to really be a cosmic character (which is what Youth in Revolt was trying to transition her into IMO). She can't really be "Cosmic Thor" as we already have Beta Ray Bill to act as Cosmic Thor.
She's maybe work in a more Defenders style team that's a little more weird in the Cloud role or something but even that's probably a stretch. I like her design and I like the idea but it just seems like she's a hard character to really slot into anywhere.
Was anything done with this? It's Bendis so I'm guessing the answer is "no" and it was just another in a long list of pulling obscure characters out of his ass to barely use or completely misuse ala Marvel Boy, The Hood, Superia or Dark Beast.
That wasn't Bendis, that's from Nick Spencer's avengers world, the kids helped storm AIM island and disrupt their activities or something.
It's been a while since I read the issue.
Bendis didn't create the kids or decide who their parents were, that would be Kyle and Yost.
Nearly all of Luke's personal villains are regarded as farcical at best, and downright retarded at worst.
It's why you rarely see them being given anything other than bit parts and crowd shots.
His brother was pretty serious, but that's because he had himself turned into living flame.
