>there are people who still make flash animation and upload in on Newgrounds in 2016
Why?
A place to put content with an established community. It's past its prime, sure, but it's not the worst place to put a flash or watch it.

Huh, I didn't realize this was still a thing.
Why not?

you gotta start somewhere. newbie animators post there because at least they have a chance of being seen as opposed to youtube where I don't think they even have a page showing new videos any more.

I was born in 1998, what is this?
>>78775074
Oh shut the fuck up. If you were born in that year you would've heard of NG
>>78775074
a site for cartoons and games. i frequented that place a lot in my early teens. i think a lot of popular animators started there. i enjoy sexualobster myself
>>78772085
i remember i started playing dragonfable because i saw an ad on NG.
>>78772085
What's wrong with the site, though?
>>78772085
Youtube is oversaturated and all the big animators already have all the viewers
Newgrounds is small fish in small pond and youtube is small fish in big pond is what I'm trying to say I guess?
>>78772085
It might be one of the last couple of places on the net where pandering isn't a huge requirement to get noticed.
Sure, making a low effort video game parody with shallow animation and tired jokes definitely helps, but new animators never get taken with the current, at least from what I've seen pretty recently on there. Posting related animations on certain days (like Pico Day or Madness Day) helps a lot, as well.Madness Combat is the tightest shit.

An artists OC named Mina by artist Gaturo
When I was a junior in high school (2011-2012 thereabouts) We got a new student, whom I quickly learned was a bit of a self righteous douchenozzle. Not only did he have disgusting emo hair, he owned several newgrounds t-shirts - like, he wore them around. In public. I asked him about it out of curiosity, he told me he was an "independent animator and voice actor." He then began listing off various roles that he allegedly had in several semi-famous animations. I went and looked through most of these animations later on (spoilers: most of them were garbage), and his name only came up on maybe 3 of the 15 or so he supposedly worked on. I guess you wouldn't be credited for saying one sentence or storyboarding one sequence.

Same reason why YTMND still exists.

For real? Oh man, I miss that site. Time for a trip down memory lane.

Nothing, the world just moved on.
>>78776676
Front page is getting noticeably more pandering, at least for animations.

>>78786357
I'll voice act for you friend. I failed high school theater and own a microphone from walmart so I'm extremely qualified
>>78786426
Not too be an ass but I'm prefer people I know until I get bigger and besides it the story is bland at best
>>78786426
you're qualified by newgrounds standards.
