If you want to watch something godawful and get a good laugh out of it. There's a series of these shitty literature animations. I bought it for $5 at BAM a few years back, best money ever spent... it's so horrible I love it.

Anne of Green Gables! I loved the book and the cartoon. Well, it was made by Miyazaki. So I suppose it's actually an anime, but it's such a good one.

Chuck Jones did some really good Jungle Book adaptations. Rikki Tikki Tavi, The White Seal, and Mowgli's Brothers. He also did a very good Christmas Carol cartoon.

Oh and the feature length Phantom Tollbooth movie.
