Pinpoint WHAT. You fucking retarded asshole, that wave coming out of his fist was going EVERYWHERE.
Do you even know how magnetism works? How can magnetism PINPOINT ANYTHING. You mentioned ACTUAL MOLECULES OF FE CONNECTED TO HEMOGLOBIN. A human on average has only 52 mg of iron per 100 cc of blood. Can you do the math on that, you actual special needs poster?

>>
You know, I have such mixed feelings here.

I'm a harsh critic of Bendis's team books. I'm the guy who did those infamous pre-emptive re-writes of Uncanny X-Men 600. But I've always said his solo books were great. Daredevil was great. Alias was great. Ultimate Spider-Man was great. And this is pretty damn good.

I just look at this and I wonder why he can't bring THIS kind of A-game to his team books. Because I really quite like this, and I'd become so accustomed to hating him.
>>
It was awful.
Kill yourself bendis
>>
>>78721812
Especially the taint. Having lots of taint piercings may seem like good idea at time until some guy in a red robot suit use his vague magnetism powers on you. Then....then there is nothing but regret.
>>
>>78722033
>And this is pretty damn good.
Nope.
>>
>>78721840
Goddamnit. Up until the last panel this was a perfectly serviceable Strange, in his classic outfit, no less! And then he goes and memes it up.

This is a man who's probably around 50, who was an arrogant surgeon, who then lost everything and went to fucking Asia to train with magic monks who taught him magic and patience, and has spent the past couple of decades fighting interdimensional forces of darkness at great personal cost.

He isn't Batman-level serious, but he isn't Matt Smith-Doctor campy either. Don't make him into this Whedonesque quipster. That's fine for Tony or Pete, but not Stephen.
>>
>>78721611

>>78722155

>>
>>78721849
Why is Tony introducing himself to MJ? SHE LIVED IN AVENGERS TOWER. Did OMD retcon Spidey being on the Avengers? Couldn't be, because he stayed on the team afterwards and nobody said anything.

I thought it just made people forget his identity, but does that somehow mean "oh, and everyone tangentially related to him that you've met?"

And anyway, even if that's somehow the case, why would MJ not remember him in turn? SHE KNOWS TONY STARK. It's not like this was ages ago, BENDIS WROTE THIS HIMSELF. IN NEW AVENGERS.

Marvel continuity: Lol what? since [insert date age here]
>>
>>78721840

I took this as Strange making fun of Stark's earlier inanity here; a bit of dry, ironic wit to catch Tony off-guard. Read that way, I like the line.
>>
>>78721849
>thing that happens in Marvel NY literally everyday

>>
>>78721859
So MJ is just the new Pepper Potts? Gotta keep up that ginger quota, huh, Tony?
>>
>>78721859
Um, does Tony Stark not remember the fact that MJ used to LIVE IN AVENGERS TOWER? THEY KNOW EACH OTHER
>>
>>78722033
Honestly, this is on par with the latter stuff in New Avengers v1. So not Bendis at his best, but better than his usual fare right now, and far better than his X-Men.
>>
>>78721849
>>78721859
Soooooo despite MJ living in your tower and hanging around the Avengers for months... you have no idea who she is Tony?

That wasn't her, it was someone who hapened to look exactly like her because Dan Slott and co were trolling us
>>
>>78721611
>>78721849
Bendis has never actually read a comic with 616 MJ in it, has he?
>>
>>78722257
It gets worse, we know for a fact this wasn't erased because after OMD, MJ and Peter discussed having lived in Avengers Tower with Carlie Cooper
>>
>>78722257

If I'm not mistaken, nobody aside from MJ herself has any memory of her and Peter ever having been married. If so, Tony wouldn't remember her living with him because that only happened because of a wedding which in his version of the past never took place.
>>
>>78722295
Blame Peter's deal with Mephisto for that one

Though I thought MJ would have remembered living in Avengers Tower
>>
>>78722191
I remember Paper Doll too.
They where billed as new enemies for Spider-man after 'bong' happened. Then they forgot all about them and went right back to his old foes.
What a waste of time and characters.
>>
>>78721907
Its a throwback to an earlier issue. Tony says that to Strange.
>>
>>78722257
Post Secret Wars is still a line wide soft reboot, and that gives Bendis the opportunity to care even less about researching before writing and just drum it up to the reboot.

>>
>>78722033
>And this is pretty damn good.
Eh. Its serviceable. Character's personalities are completely out of whack, though.
>>
>>78722232
Why do the comic people even attempt synergizing with movies BEFORE the movie even takes shape? It's like those fuck awful McNiven designs for the GotG that they actually expected to get used for the movie.
>>
>>78722325
Nope, never happened.
Pete and MJ never got married; therefore she never lived in the tower. And never had a baby.
>>
>>78722257
Wait, I just realized, this is technically not a continuity error.
Tony Stark wiped his mind after Dark Reign. He didn't remember anything from an indeterminate point before Civil War onward.
That means it's plausible for Tony Stark to not remember MJ. MJ not knowing Stark on the other hand...
>>
>>78722349
I wonder how much replacing Pepper with MJ has with Bendis being slapped by Feige.
>>
>>78722155
No she fucking wasn't. Go read the Jackpot story again, retard. Her name was Alana Jobson. Everyone just thought it was MJ.

They did live in the Tower
>>
>>78722398
Yeah, you can handwave Tony not remembering with a few different plotpoints (OMD, Dark Reign), but MJ has zero options.

The only possible explanation is that she was lying to him to protect Mephisto's spell or something, but her internal monologue discredits that theory.

So we're left to assume that Peter and MJ never lived in Avengers Tower, and that, logically, NA v1 never happened. By extension, neither could NA v2 and A v4 (I think).

Congratulations, Bendis. You just un-wrote your own fucking Avengers stories.
>>
>>78722191
Negative is still being used, he's the main villain in this week's ASM

>>

>>
>>78722325
But she did. Peter and MJ even talk about it with Carlie Cooper.
>>
>>78722388
They didn't get married and never had a daughter

But they lived together in sin so most of the stories still happened the same way.
>>
>>78722109

>>

>>
>>78722349
>Seems the kind of comment that should be getting bendis some flak.
...Why aren't we giving him flak for it?
>>
>>78722324
Does MJ remember the deal? People seem to assume that (just the same as people insist that she was pregnant in OMD) but was it ever specified by editorial that she remembers? I thought the company line was she tricked Mephisto into disrupting the timeline but erasing his involvement (like that made any sense) so she did'nt remember the deal either
>>
>>78721654
What are Captain Britain parties like?
>>
>>78722454
I think it's more the case of Bendis expecting this to bring in a lot of new readers and thinking that they would be too stupid to understand that two people might have known each other before the story began.
>>
>>78722179
Yeah, he did the same thing in Avengers Assemble and GotG. treating Earth like "it's not ready" to deal with cosmic stuff or some crap
>>
>>78722538
Perhaps we need to keep reading. Peter will be guest-starring sometime in the next arc too
>>
>>78722345
Shut up.
>>
>>78722520
your mom is fucking stupid haha
>>
>>78722249
>>78722275
Bendis is trying to apply realism in a setting where unrealism is normal.
Actually, even in the real world it wouldn't make much sense. If a nightclub was attacked by criminals, that wouldn't ruin the nightclub's PR. If anything it would be free publicity.
>>
>>78721840
I liked Strange better as an Ozzy Osborn rip off.
And that is saying a lot.
>>
>>78722325
>Blame Peter's deal with Mephisto for that one
All that did was remove the fact that Peter and MJ were married. They still lived together. Read One Moment In Time, all that was changed is that Peter missed the wedding ceremony. That's it.
>>
>>78722563

so essentially she becomes Stark's secretary?
>>
>>78722500

>>
>>78722697
Yeah. From being her own boss, she devolved to eye-candy or whatever secretaries do in comics.
>>
>>78722550
>but was it ever specified by editorial that she remembers?
No. Editorial refuses to acknowledge OMD in any way post-OMIT.

It is believed that the mysterious line that she whispers into Mephisto's ear during OMD is that she remembers. Allegedly early versions of the script had it in there (I remember seeing scans of page before it was released that confirmed this), but they pulled it at the last second and never revealed specifically what MJ said to Mephisto.

>I thought the company line was she tricked Mephisto into disrupting the timeline but erasing his involvement (like that made any sense) so she did'nt remember the deal either

decompression writing. When he's handling just one character it works, he can move the plot forward while also showing in detail the inner world of the character.
When you have multiple characters it just becomes an endless series of characters sittin down talking to each other.

Because Marvel is teflon and nobody wants to waste the effort.
>>

How hard would it be to write a universe bible for this shit.

Not even every issue or every minor detail, but just have a big book with all the major events and important character interactions that writers can't contradict (unless it's an explicit retcon, like with Wanda/Pietro's shifting parentage).

There's the Marvel Wikia, just tighten it up a bit, and expand certain sections and you're already there. You don't even need editors enforcing continuity at that point, just make sure writers aren't dumb as fuck.

No, please, I want Tony and Victor: Arrogant Bros to be a thing.

I like the concept of Doom being this gray-area anti-hero of sorts. He has too large of a fanbase, both among writers and readers, to ever really work as an out-and-out villain.

If Waid couldn't turn him into a complete monster - and he tried like Hell, pun intended - no one can, and going the other way makes sense.

MJ looks really strange on that cover... but otherwise that's great. Oh Clone Saga nostalgia.

Is it bad that I actually kinda like the clone saga, despite all the horrible writing and trash heaped on it? I started reading comics right around when that started, so I've got a soft spot for it.

But even so, the cover isn't really actively not addressing the pregnancy or anything. Its just not calling attention to it. Which is pretty easy, considering MJ only ever -looked- pregnant in like 3 or 4 issues.

>I'm hyped for Cumberbatch's Strange

Honestly, so am I, but that doesn't mean I like the idea of morphing comic Strange into Cumbersnitch like it happened to Stark and RDJ.
>>

RDJ doesn't look like comics Iron Man though

So long as Slott doesn't get his sausage fingers on her (I'll never forgive him for what he did to her during Spider-Verse), she's one of the best characters Marvel has ever published.
>>

Benedict is a good actor, I'm worried about the director

Is he good? Haven't watched anything by him
>>
>>78721849
this reminds me of usm mary jane...I guess she doesn't exist anymore huh.
>>
I'm actually really enjoying this but Deadato? Hell naw
>>
>>78725145
He's a second string horror director, he made two relatively generic exorcism movies and Sinister, which has some stuff going for it, it's hard to know what'll come out now that he's been given a real budget.
>>
>>78725063
Ever since 2008, Tony has changed his facial hair to match the movie, ditched suits for a more casual looks and graphic t-shirts like the movie, has messier hair like the movie and sometimes even shows up with garish sunglasses like the movie. He's RDJ if RDJ wasn't a manlet.
>>
>>78725145
>Benedict is a good actor
When he actually feels like acting. When he doesn't. He's just Khan. Which is pretty god damn awful.

He only took the role because he's a glory hound and knew it would instantly add to his fame. I doubt he gives a single shit about the actual character.
>>
>>78725154
>this reminds me of usm mary jane
...how? She acted nothing like this at all.
>>
>>78725293
Is there any actor in a cape movie who actually gives a shit about the character other than Nic Cage and (allegedly) Ryan Reynolds?
>>
>>78725349
Karl Urban? Ed Norton?
>>
>>78724004
Nope, still pretty far-fetched. She's never been "in trouble" because of Spider-Man before, nobody even knows she's conected to Spider-Man.
So just because some super-villain has a fight in a club she hapened to own doesn't mean her career is ruined.
>>
>>78725399
Norton was a fan of the TV show, not the comic character. Is Urban big on Judge Dredd? Being ok with the helmet for the whole movie sure was cool, but I didn't know it was from explicit respect for the character.

Where the fuck have you been? She's had to deal with Peter's rogues a whole slew of times. Hell, she took on the bigger, tougher, evil version of Peter. Pic related.

>>
isn't the reason MJ left Nyc because the green goblin wrecked her club bc of spider connectioms?
>>
>>78721611
>Every time a Super Hero shows up in my life
The way she phrases it implies more than one Super Hero has shown up in her life and it's a regular thing, a scycle of her life being ruined over and over by different heroes entering it.
Did I miss something? The only hero she's been involved in is Spider-Man, and I don't recall her "starting over" many times
>>
>>78725544
The hell? Of course modelling has nothing to do with super villains. But even then, you're wrong (pic related). Even still, she's dealt with this stuff a fuckload in her day-to-day life. This should be old news to her.
>>
>>78721603

That's a great cover. Too bad Victor misplaced his outfit in this issue.
>>
>>78725590
>The way she phrases it implies more than one Super Hero has shown up in her life

Well, to be fair, she's been around a lot of super heroes. She DID live in Avengers Tower for a while. And its not like Peter Parker is some super hero recluse. He's pretty well known in the cape community, many of which MJ has met.
>>
>>78725455
Yeah, Urban is Dreddfag.
>>
>>78721859
Are you telling me that in all these years Tony has never had anyone on his payroll whose job it was to manage his charity work or his brand?
>>
>>78725728
He's broke, his PR department probably got axed.
>>
>>78723259
I don't dislike it. I really like it actually. I look at it as an alternative take on the Bleeding Edge. I love Bleeding Edge concept, but I think this new one comes off as more pure tech based than the Bleeding Edge did which was more technorganic. That doesn't mean it wasn't god tier as a costume. I just think Iron Man should be pure tech more than anything else.
>>
>>78725766
Somebody remind me why he's "broke" again? He sure doesn't look broke
>>
>>78725786
We can't relate with super-rich guy! Now when Tony is face of Marvel, we have to relate with him. That's why previous relatable character, Spider-Man, is richer than God now.
>>
First Bendis' Iron Man I read. I'm kinda impressed, but I didn't have high hopes anyways. It wasn't as bad as I feared (X-men) and it seems he actually gave the story some semi-sensible closure (in opposite to his Non-Avengers).
>>
>>78724666
You can't move in with your friend unless you're married?
>>
>>78725786
I'd like to think that it's because of all the horrible horseshit he pulled in Superior Iron Man and New Avengers, but apparently it's just because Parker Industries upstaged him.
>>
>>78721603
Would Stark, or DOOM be better suited (no pun intended) for life in DC?
>>
>>78725786

This. We're told he can't afford to bankroll the Avengers, but he looks as rich as ever with his armors, cars and whatnot.

>>

He sort of got the part where she'd clock a villain for fucking with her right. Normally she wouldn't stop swinging though.
>>
>>78726003
Not really, Stark Industries would be outmatched by WayneTech and Doom would be just another despotic ruler alongside Black Adam and Queen Bee.
>>
>>78722033
>Good
Nah. it's got the same problem alot of the recent flagship books since the "reboot" have. They would all be dozens of times better if they were using different characters because the personalities and interactions don't match the characters.

Stark's tech is decades ahead of Bruce's
>>

>>
>>78726490
>DeFalco hinted that was'nt the actual Mayday
I know, and godbless 'em for it. DeFalco knows whats up.

Either way, its pretty much confirmed to be that Mayday in the Secret Wars: Spider-Island backup story. Which DeFalco spent the entire duration fixing all of Slott's bullshit.
>>
>>78725786
He's not. At all. He's just less rich than Peter Parker right now. So, in comics, apparently that equates to "broke".
>>
>>78726617
I don't think so, there's a few more clues in that story to indicate otherwise (she knows Darkdevil is her cousin)
>>
>>78724743
Decompressing isn't the same as complaining, dummy. I stated my opinion then exonerated its overall meaninglessness because it is. Like a secular man uses Bible scriptures, I know enough about Spider-Man comics to know they're shit.

>I wonder why he can't bring THIS kind of A-game to his team books
Because he's very bad at having different voices for characters. On a solo, you can't tell this because he has, like, 3 personalities he uses, which is enough to fill out a main cast for a solo, but once you try that shit in a team book, half the characters end up with the same voice.

I like reading a book about Spider-man going on adventures. I don't like a book about 7 Spider-mans going on adventures.

The confusing thing about OMD is that everyone except for Peter and MJ (and Kaine) forgot about Peter Parker's identity even though that should create huge holes in people's memory.
How many events has Norman Osborn forgotten about? Or the Jackal? Or Eddie Brock? Or the Symbiote? Them knowing Peter's identity was vital for their motivations and plots, what do they think hapened?
The only person who noticed something was up was the Human Torch, because he thought it was weird that he didn't know, and he saw a statue of Peter unmasked (but decayed) in another dimension where the spell had no effect.
