Two ranchers accidently burned 130 acres of land, and got five years.

So some nutcases in response decided to get all their guns and take over a federal building, saying all 'murricans should join them. They are refusing to leave until ALL federal land is turned over for logging, mining, recreation, and turning into suburbs. They claim they will not leave and if someone tries to force them out, they will open fire. They've been sending people out for snacks and magazines. Its on day 5.

People are complaining why white gunmen can take over a building and threaten force, then not get taken out in a drone strike. All the locals fucking hate them since it resulted in a shit down of federal services in the town, so they're calling for them to be shot.

A reporter interviewed them and they said their goal is "to make the tyrannical US government return the land to the people who were here first, the ranchers" (untrue, the town began as prostitutes and stores supplying people in the gold rush). The reporter cheekily asked if he meant he was standing for a total return of land to Native Americans, he got totally confused and paused before saying "...yes?"

Take some time off at the end of this chapter.

Build up a buffer like Tom does for Gunnerkrigg or Ashley does for Unsounded (no one will hate you for doing this and it WORKS because every loves those two).

Come back and consistently update and watch your already amazing comic go into the stratosphere.

If ever that buffer depletes too much, just take some time off to build it up. Tell us that you are doing that. Your comic is at the point where you can do that and people will be okay with it.

Also, some statistics. This is the first page of the Hitball scene. It was posted on April 3, 2015 (the first ACTUAL page was on the 7th, but I'll start here just to be safe). The last page of the Hitball arc was posted on January 1st.

The Hitball arc had 61 pages total, over a span of 8 months and 29 days. Or 39 weeks.
Assuming Zack planned all of Hitball to go as it did, and if Zack suffered no setbacks that forced him to not update on an update day, then the entirety of Hitball could have been covered instead in 31 weeks (assuming two pages per week). So if Zack could have made a buffer to prevent wrist issues and the like, Hitball could have ended on November 6th instead. And this isn't even considering the fact that Hitball could have been curtailed just a little.

Well Ashley and Tom actually planned shit out before they even started their comics like any sane, intelligent individual would, and Tom has never missed and update and Ashley has never missed an update unannounced. Zack works very slowly and it will take him a very long time to get even a decent buffer. He tried before and only got three pages sorta done. What he should do is get on the kickstarter for these books already and since that will occupy all of his time for a few months he should use it to make the buffer while updating with sketches and stuff so people don't totally forget.
