What even prompted CN to do this type of thing and why don't they do it anymore? Where they still feeling themselves out as a network? Did it actually increase viewership at all? Did some fuckin suit come out of their office and say shut it down?
I always saw it as a counterpart to Toonami's MVs.
As to why? My wholly uneducated guess is that they needed to fill airspace. With cable fairly new and CN fairly niche, I be that getting more eyes on their shows (and a limited number of attached ads) was worth more than having low viewership and letting any old Anne Podunk buy commercial time. So a good way to do that is to hype up your own shows, make them cool in such a way that unlikely viewers might give them a chance, and pull eyes by the spectacle and star power of having your cartoons dance around with special guests.
And they also must have just been fun projects to work on.
Touch, sweet touch, you've given me too much to feel
> no more catchy music videos based on modern CN characters.
>Tom not giving a fuck about elder scrolls
TOP FUCKING KEK
Its sad how half of the CN Groovies had songs made exclusively for them, so there's not a high quality version of them in existence.
>Courage the Cowardly Dog by They Might Be Giants
Hey, asshole don't push your dog!
They were worried about you, ya fuck!
There's an anon that's compiled all the music from the Groovies somewhere around here. If you live, please post it here.
Also, to that anon that did the same with the [adult swim] bumps, please do the same.
I'd greatly appreciate it, and I'm sure others would, too.
>no more music videos
>no more animated shorts between shows
>no more setting or backdrop for the channel
I miss when the channel was like an office building for cartoons.
Now all CN does is show videos of kids waving at their cell phones
>that sounds kind of boring
>THAT'S NOT THE POINT TOM
Sara is the hero we deserve
I actually have the Jabberjaw EP by Pain. None of their other albums were as good.
and you're wrong, this is best song
/co/ related music thread?
I'm actually quite disappointed that CN stopped making CN Groovies, they were awesome and I'm beyond curious what the music videos would be like and what artists they would get to do Groovies for SU, Adventure Time, Gumball and Ben 10.
