He's a hero with mental instability that causes an evil entity called Void to manifest and do evil as he is trying to do good. The only way to get rid of void was to erase everyone's memories of Sentry, which is why he's a no namer. Osborn manipulates him into doing evil stuff that causes Void to possess him. He's basically mentally unstable as all hell. He makes Superboy-Prime look as like a sane man. He wants to be a superhero, but the void is always there, ready to do evil whenever he does any good, hence why it's hard for him to do anything at all, because that brings up a risk of the void fucking shit up in retaliation of the good that the Sentry tries to do. The Void comes into being every time Sentry uses his powers and is his eternal nemesis born in his own psyche.

Just think of him being like the Superman version of Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde, only except a cosmic addition on top of that, since the Void is seemingly hinted to be Yaldabaoth.

Nah, Bob Reynolds is a villain in his mind, but with enough decency to know that he's doing wrong, hence the Sentry persona. Technically Sentry can't act villainously, he can just be confused/manipulated. Void, on the other hand is pure malevolence taken form.

Is that suppose to be a big deal? It has already been confirmed that a sun is sufficient to permanently kill and trap him. And the whole self-resurrection thing isn't even that big of a deal. Even the weakest terrestrial god is capable of that if their desire is powerful enough.

Sentry < Molecule Man < original Beyonder < Beyonders

Bendis and Brevoort both said that Sentry isn't supposed to be more powerful than Molecule Man overall. Reed Richards beat Molecule Man too, that doesn't mean Reed is more powerful. Even in Dark Avengers, Sentry still needed to force Molecule Man to undo everything he'd done, if Sentry was really more powerful he'd have been able to do it on his own.

Molecule Man isn't more powerful than the Beyonders. It took the power of thousands (millions? billions?) of alternate universe Molecule Men, plus Doom's time travel and power stealing technology, to defeat them.

The original Beyonder was merely a child unit, whereas the true Beyonders are the adults of their race and are vastly more powerful.

If his power set includes being able to regenerate from molecular disintegration, then alternate universe or not, it's stupid for him to die that way. If Thor disintegrated him with a bolt of magical divine lightning, that would be exaggerating for the sake of drama and shock. In fairness. The issue in question was an alternate reality that diverged from 616 during Secret Invasion. Sentry wasn't shown coming back from disintegration until Dark Reign, when Osborn gave him a serum to boost his power, at the cost of making him more vulnerable to the Void taking control. Maybe the serum was just a placebo that made Sentry think he was more powerful and thus made him actually become more powerful, as >>78714257 suggests.

Either way, Sentry never took the serum in this alternate universe. So this is still Sentry at Mighty Avengers power levels, where he was basically just a really strong flying brick who couldn't lift the Helicarrier on his own, could get knocked out by other Class 100 characters like Hercules, could exhaust all his power fighting World War Hulk, etc. So it makes sense that this version of Sentry could be killed if his neck was snapped. It'd just take someone really really really strong like Thor to do it.
