That is entirely possible. Every contract is different so it's impossible to know for sure without lawyers of the given company confirming it one way or the other, but we know that's the case for Bug, so it might be the case for them aswell.

Marvel can use any characters they themselves made in the comics. So Bug, who they created for the Micronauts, can still be used in the comics. Likewise with the Spaceknights for ROM.

However, Bug is still associated with the Micronauts. The Spaceknights are still associated with ROM. Hasbro owns the film rights for those franchises and those characters are part of those franchises, thus they can use those characters in movies and marvel can't because Marvel doesn't own the Micronauts film rights just like they don't own the X-men film rights.

That's not to say that Hasbro CAN use them. Hasbro might have to get approval from Marvel to use them in the movies, like how Fox has to get approval from Marvel to make TV Shows despite owning the X-men live-action rights. Contracts and rights packages are weird like that.

Okay, can someone tell me what's wrong with Bendis current plan? I think at this point it's absolutely clear he's trying to change his vision for the Guardians. I don't have hate googles for him so when I read his new volumen I noticed how he's trying to change his way of doing the book almost completely from what he did on Volume 3. No Earth, No Raccoon catchphrase, no movie references. I waited a few more issues to see if it was just a thing from first issues but now I see he's introducing new ideas with cosmic characters like this team. I fail to see what exactly is Bendis doing wrong in this Volume. I really don't understand how cosmic fans are still pissed off when he's not doing anything offensive. Venom was first sent as the Earth's representation in the team and a replacement of Iron Man personally picked by Stark. Later the symbiote went to his real home planet and was purified, it became a warrior of justice. Nowadays everyone forgets he's part of the team but he has a nice solo.

Guardians of Infinity is just starting and Abnett got severely limited to 15 pages for Latour shitty story with wrestling in space and dog versions of the Golden girls and he will continue to get thise 15 pages.

Guardians 3000 started off slow but it has promise and characters that weren't memes at all, hell it even had a Mary Sue character that was likeable.

Why do people circlejerk DnA Guardians so much?

Nothing ever happened in that book. It was a constant tie in for other more important things like Secret Invasion, War of Kings, Realm of Kings and Thanos Imperative. The cast was constantly cleaning up that bitch Phyla Vell's bullshit and the broke up and reunited like twice in 20 issues. And don't give me the whole, it was the original argument. If it was the original the whole thing would have been set in the future and involved a war with martians.

I like Giffen's stuff way better than DnA's and I thought DnA's Nova was better than their Guardians stuff which only got good until Imperative was starting.

That said I guess the "circlejerk" happened because the person who followed after them was Bendis and he so far has done a very shitty and abysmal job at it, at least DnA had a coherent plot and all characters got time to shine with the exception of maybe Groot or Bug (but they did have their moments too).

And shit did happen, people died and people joined and left the team, there were consequences to actions, made by certain characters too. Their tie-ins were editorial mandates and the non cosmic ones didn’t have anything really to do with what was happening with the regular tie-ins, War of Kings or whatever was probably the worst of the bunch.

But the Negative Zone prison thing with Blastaar was a brilliant way to tie in to Civil War without dealing with the actual MUH REGISTRATION shit and the team got Jack Flag oit of that plus Blaastar got some character development.

Also when they meet up with the future Guardians and Starhawk that was a good story and not a tie in to anything.

I agree Giffen's cosmic marvel is criminally underrated, then again if you have read Giffen's work before you would realize his cosmic marvel is so good because he literally wrote it as how he wrote cosmic dc, Annihilation Saga always felt to me like something right out of L.E.G.I.O.N. or Omega Men.
