>>78659135 Hopefully not until the next book KS. >>78658191 is going to delay the backer rewards with cards but Michelle seems to have done all the design work for all that and is just waiting on a more competent company to remake them.
>>78658191 Man , I got my hopes up from your post, for a moment I thought you meant she was getting returned packages of the ones she was sending to backers. But the books aren't even finished yet, are they?
>>78662634 They are, as are the other reward items. She was just waiting on the foil cards like >>78658469 to come in, so they could mail the completed packages to funders. Instead they got a beat up box of wet and torn crap a month and a half late.
>>78662753 Oh, never mind, there's two newer backer only status updates on the Kickstarter page. Could some generous anon post the info in those for the unfortunate souls like myself who only found this comic after the Kickstarter was over?
>>78662806 >Oh, never mind, there's two newer backer only status updates on the Kickstarter page Man, I wish she'd actually bother to update us about what's going on in other places, or make those open to read for everyone. The vast majority of her reader base are not Kickstarter backers and are thus left completely in the dark with how things are progressing and when the comic is coming back.
>>78664581 i'm fine with the kickstarter, i backed it and i'm getting that sweet pendant and metal key but she should have been realistic and had some kind of fallback, or way to rigidly allocate time for very occasional updates
>>78664581 >she should have just opened a patreon. She also has a ~2000 $ a month patreon running on the side. People who donate to webcomic artists are too dumb to cancel their donations when the comics die so it's just free money rolling in each month.
>>78668056 Ashley Cope and Mary Cagle are two examples off the top of my head that manage to do it properly. Cope takes time off between chapters to build a buffer and she sometimes posts multiple pages when the regular schedule would break up the pace. Cagle is working on three comics at once (became the artist of the third after the other guy left) and she seems to manage her time well.
>>78667013 IMO, yeah, it is. Arguably, it only got popular because Michelle was from the Homestuck fandom -so she had fans of her fan art from that to sucker in- and she had pretty artwork to bank on.
I was all excited to read this at the beginning, and I kept up with it for a while. But as time went on, I began to realize there was very little substance and everyone was unlikable. Not very memorable, either. I can't even begin to tell you anything else besides the Prudith sequence that was really memorable in the story itself.
While I can't fault her for doing what she loves, but if I were in her shoes? I wouldn't have quit a lucrative job at Dreamworks to do this comic full-time, since apparently now her "job" is working on Kickstarter stuff and little else besides that. Truly, the pinnacle of funemployment, right there.
How are seven teens with attitude supposed to stop Titan exactly? Last time Wrathia had a humongous interstellar army and Titan crushed them effortlessly. This time they're going to have seven teens with feng shui powers, and if that could stop Titan now, why couldn't it stop him fifteen years ago? If Titan ever shows up in person to meet these kids, what could possibly happen other than him bitch-slapping them with zero effort on his part?
>>78684366 It has to do with some crazy plan to try and get Titan with his pants down, cuz Wrathia thinks he thinks that she's dead so he'll never see an army of possess teens working their way up Titan's ranks to try and backstab him
>>78684366 It makes sense. In the original war, Wrathia's forces were known to Titan and surrounded easily. Having them scatter to completely random people throughout his empire would make them considerably harder to target.
Sadly Wrathia isn't that smart and her real strategy was to possess a more powerful creature than her by pure luck.
>>78662806 >there's two newer backer only status updates on the Kickstarter page. Could some generous anon post the info in those for the unfortunate souls like myself who only found this comic after the Kickstarter was over? The updates say that there's problems with the books and a couple of the other rewards so the shipments to backers will be delayed a bit more.
My god, just rechecked the Kickstarter page: >Reward: BOOK TWO - The Ava's Demon Book Two >Estimated Delivery: June 2015 >JUNE 2015! How does one person misjudge their ability to do something so massively?! Especially when it's their second Kickstarter of this caliber?
>>78689292 She had alot of personal problems this year on top of production difficulties that delayed the whole thing.
She got married She moved to NYC Celebrated a niece Had to deal with Tumblidiots because of Michelle's Magnolia piece and her Dolce Vita piece. Essentially they're the reason her Deviant Art got removed, and then brought back later.
>>78689363 Are you being ironic with that post? The first three are just regular life things that pretty much everyone does (celebrated a niece WTF, how is that a "personal problem"?), and I don't see how getting some semi-lewds temporarily deleted on DeviantArt would in any way affect a book Kickstarter.
>>78689363 >She got married When you get married you use your saved vacation days to go on your honeymoon for a week or two, you don't bail on work for a year. Especially not when you've been paid 300.000 up front, it gives the impression that you're just living loose with the money you were given.
>>78689363 >Sorry Boss I haven't been at work this whole year but you see I got married and went on a loving honeymoon and decided to move so 3 months. Man was I beat after that so I took some time off.
Then when things couldn't get worse my deviantart picture was deleted by a bunch of meanies on the internet. I had to take 2 months to rest my mind after that trauma. You know how it is. Life is so hard.
Oh and I just got a niece so I had to take a month off of work for that as well. Want to see her picture? Cute right?
>>78689832 >'Celebrated a niece' actually took the worst toll >having a morale hit from the tumblr crap.
Once again a weak as shit reason to go on such a long hiatus for a comic that promised twice the updates from Patreon and the kickstarters with enough money but instead killed the comic entirely. Some people hurt your feelings? That's ok just go mope and cry about it and not do the thing people paid you to do. When you get that much money to maintain a webcomic it stops being a hobby it becomes a job to take more seriously. Shit like celebrating a niece in another state, building a computer, moving shouldn't put you out of work longer than a whole year. Literally Dresden Codak levels of bullshit without the smug attitude.
As for the kickstarter delays, she went over board once again with the rewards not learning from the first one how long that kind of thing takes. An animation? Was that really necessary for a comic that by the time that animation comes out no one will give a shit about because of the hiatus patterns?
At this rate the comic is good as dead unless she can find a way to manage her time and quit making excuses for her work ethic.
>>78684816 >Sadly Wrathia isn't that smart and her real strategy was to possess a more powerful creature than her by pure luck. She's a monarch which means chances that she would be smart or stupid were also left to pure luck. Sometimes you get a Suleiman the Great. Sometimes you get a Charles the Fat.
She was clearly outmatched by Titan who somehow managed to conquer her entire empire and world in a single day, while she didn't even notice until he was standing outside her Palace front door. Given those circumstances it's unlikely she'd be able to come up with a good plan so maybe a crazy stupid plan would work.
>>78690633 >She was clearly outmatched by Titan who somehow managed to conquer her entire empire and world in a single day, while she didn't even notice until he was standing outside her Palace front door. I believe that that was supposed to show just how powerful he was supposed to be, like as if all of a sudden aliens came down to earth and took over the entire world within the span of 2 hours. Not all world leaders would be able to notice something like that immediately.
>>78695064 >next Kickstarter begins >goes on hiatus for two years >posts blog update to explain delays >"Got a dog, ate a nasty burrito, and stubbed my toe. Will need to extend the hiatus for another few months." >Patreon donation somehow increase
>>78663039 >always assume a kickstarter will consumed your ENTIRE LIFE for at LEAST eight months, there's basically no exceptions to this rule I dunno, Minna from SSSS managed to do an Indiegogo campaign while continuing her comic just fine. Only noticeable difference is she went from 5 updates a week to 4.
>>78666285 Used to be 2.8k or something. Down to 1.2k now. Still pretty high for no content
>>78698170 >xenophobic how? >not getting the message of the story >not realizing that everyone becoming monsters is symbolic of how she sees all foreigners >not knowing her history >not realizing the comic is her "purge the world of the dirty foreigners for the motherland" fantasy
>>78663039 >there's basically no exceptions to this rule Minna Sunberg or whatever her name is and Ashley Cope. >>78667013 Also has some hot bitches to be fair. >>78698792 >Meek Was good up till the hiatus Haven't read the other yet >>78690026 Like sweaty lolis and burned out campfire >>78698941 >not being xenophobic Remove yourself, anon.
