I actually feel like that was its biggest fault. They were so concerned with shot-for-shot accuracy that they didn't bother to adapt anything.

Cinematography is more than just reenacting panels, it has to be rearranged, rewritten, and re-edited to accommodate the new medium, and there was absolutely none of that. It felt like there was no actual director involved, they just lined up all the shots the way they were in the book.

It had great pieces that were put together all wrong.

I think it's dependent. There are a lot of characters who wear spandex just because it's the done thing in comics, and I can get changing those, but at the same time redesigns often just go with current trends instead of what would work best with the character.

Batman's cowl is usually depicted as being armored underneath. Segmented kevlar plating usually, like a MICH helmet broken up into pieces.

There's no reason the traditional cowl can't be protective. And making it so that it LOOKS protective goes against Batman's style.

If he's wearing the Dark Knight suit, and you, say, crack him in the head with a bottle, and the cowl protects him, whoop de doo, you can see that he's wearing a helmet, so of course he wasn't hurt. It's to be expected.

But if you do the same thing to him when he's wearing the BvS suit, holy shit, you just hit a guy who looks to be wearing nothing more than a rubber mask, and he didn't even flinch.

Both of these suits are armored, but only one of them brings that psychological X-factor that Batman so often relies on.
