it's already out so the thread is full of spoilers
Please continue to use the stickies.
>Private letters back and forth
She only trusted asami because he was going through emotional trauma, and she didn't believe mako or bolin would give her emotional stability.
>Your hair looks snazzy
>Implying that wasn't there to tease us
It's not canon by any means, only suggested. Unless we get more out of the series (we won't) then it isn't fully cannon, only speculation.
If they started wrestling tongues under the spirit portal, then yea, confirmed cannon.
It was okay until the final Kuvira battle, then shit started spiraling out of control. It was a big piece of crap until Korra and Asami at the end, then it just became unbearable.
>You can't count for shit.
I should have clarified. I meant show up in any meaningful fucking way. I was actually thinking about a longer wedding scene where I got to see them doing something other than running away from Kuvira's mega stormtrooper suit.
>I don't really care, but that's fair.
You're an assbag.
>Who fucking cares? So it's not shipping when it's the ship you care about?
I don't ship them, but that's the point. Instead of seeing anyone else's end, all I got was Korra AND Asami's. I would've been alrght with nobody else getting an ending, if Korra got an ending that wasn't tied to anyone else.
You know, because the show is called 'The Legend of Korra'
>You can talk about other stuff, but you certainly don't seem to want to.
I can talk about many things I don't like about the finale you're right. Like how Korra was quick to save Kuvira, and seemed to convey the message that it was alright to forgive monsters. And how Suyin didn't forgive Kuvira, therefore making Bryke's message of "forgiveness" all the more confusing.
But what I was referencing was the fact that 90%, if not more, of the fandom is embroiled over a shipping war right now. And if you don't think that's true you're either an idiot, or you're just fucking with me. Both of which bore me to no end.
>To call Varrick and Zhu Li "minor characters" while asking for focus to be on Opal is logic that is laughable beyond reason.
That's the point captain retard, why them over her? Why do I only get closure for two of the characters?
Seems like this Korrasami has caused a new avatar shipping war
I can't say why its not like Makorra or any other ships with Korra were any good
If anything I was Pro Korra Forever Alone but Korrasami is fine
zutara shippers said the exact same thing back in the day, keep on being butthurt
Requesting .webms of final scene or download links in general... for reasons...
Which only served as an excuse for naive dumbfucks like you to make the "romance" less of an asspull.
There was literally zero chemistry between the two. But go ahead, celebrate pandering, shit tier writing.
Korra threads on /co/ are still shit.
I liked the attack on the mech, even tho I didn't like the mech in the first place. Although
Hiroshi's death was really brushed aside now that I think about it.
He isn't that strong of a lavabender yet. If he was he could take out the normal mechs alone.
Ghazan was on a different level of lavabending
No man, really there is a degeneration here. This is Zutara level denying and Naruto level tumbler rage
>Completely ignore Asami/Korra relationship
>They've been solid 10/10 best friends for four seasons
>Hints across the entire season that they might be more than friend
>HURR IT CAME OUTTA NOWHERE
I don't see how private letters mean they liked each more than friends. Asami is Korra's only female friend which is probably why she feels more at ease with her than Mako or Bolin.
The blush literally lasted a second, and plenty of people blush in the series, like when Lin zips up Bolin's fly. That didn't mean he wanted to bang Lin.
>They've been solid 10/10 best friends for four seasons
According to your logic, she might as well have fucked Bolin.
>Hints across the entire season that they might be more than friend
>This private letters argument
Sometimes I call one of my boys when some shit goes down, but not the others, because we've known each other longer or he's gone through the same shit.
Does that mean I love that dude I hit up? Does that mean i'm gay? Anons, i'm worried.
>That's the point captain retard, why them over her? Why do I only get closure for two of the characters?
Because it would be pretty fucking stupid to dedicated bits of the last 10 minutes of the show to a dozen minor characters. And Varrick and Zhu Li have been active involved characters since S2E1 with an interesting relationship dynamic, where Opal has only been active a season and a half with a shitty awkward high school romance.
That's because shippers are alone, butthurt teen-like beings who will hold on to a slight hint their whole platonic love involving two people who don't even exist other than actually acknowledging any other aspects of the series.
Meanwhile people sent more letters to people they want to bang more than those they don't.
Both answers are perfectly valid, you simply can't say "Well FRIENDS do this too" as if it somehow invalidates the fact that lovers do it as well.
Lovers are just friends who bash their dicks together anyway.
Korra and Asami are bisexuals you uneducated shitlord
The ending was bland, the series was disappointing and the shipping was a cover-up.
Right but she's attached to one of the main characters, which leads me to want to see her because it would mean seeing Bo's wrap-up.
Take your shipping goggles off dipshit. The only reason I care about seeing Opal is because she's attached to Bolin now, and I wanted to say goodbye to all the characters. Not just Mako, Asami, and Korra.
>Hints across the entire season that they might be more than friend
Seriously, shippingfags always say there are obvious clues to support their ships.
Asami and Korra had no characterization as more than friends.
Even counting the episode it isn't canon. It's like stating you're dating someone without even have kissed or demonstrated any kind of obvious romance interest to the other person. Shit, those kids are just too used to their platonic loves inside of their heads to distinguish stuff.
>it's 11:30 p.m. on thursday night
>finally got Hola extension to work
>day of the colossus starts
>windows update shutsdown my computer for 3 hours
>went to bed
>Implying sexuality is a three choice option and not a sliding scale
The only people who think otherwise are straight/gay as an arrow.
Pretty sure Korra sent only Asami the letters because she was the only fucking girl on the team
>the only person korra can relate to emotionally
I'm pretty sure there is nothing more than that
Korrasami canon is for autistic fuckbags
An uncharacteristically fantastic ending to a disappointing and misled series.
I said this in the last thread, and I should stress that i'm not that dude defending his own post, but my wife and her best friend did that at our wedding while.
they were talking, i'm not sure if that changes it, but they did the exact same thing. my sisters also do this sometimes. i don't ship, so i don't care either way, but i didn't feel that the ending was gay until i came here and began posting with people.
Yep. started well then just went straight down hill
Best thing about the entire show. Also, best screenshot from the finale.
It was in questionable territory with season 2 but I think 3 and 4 managed to save it.
It was far from perfect but I enjoyed watching it, and I would watch more of it if Nick somehow did a 180 and stopped hating Avatar.
He got his wrap up when he redeemed himself by helping the Beifongs rescue Su, retard. Did you miss that scene? Or did you need them to kiss again as extra confirmation that she forgave him? He's a joke character 95% of the fucking show, you might as well complain about Sokka not having a big flashy ending with Zuko and Aang.
> fantastic ending
How do you figure? A villain who was pretty shit versus a cardboard cut out avatar with a rag-tag team of no-character team-mates. Whats to like other then lesbian shit the threw in at the last possible second
>Bryke knows how to fuck with his fandom and gives them what is possibly the best tweest the show could give
>Everyone inmediately appropiates with their political agenda
>I meant show up in any meaningful fucking way. I was actually thinking about a longer wedding scene where I got to see them doing something other than running away from Kuvira's mega stormtrooper suit.
A longer scene with long sentoffs for everyone would have bogged the whole thing down. It would also have been just fanservice (although you can argue the lesbian thing is aswell). I understand the frustration of the lack of closure, but for all we know there will be comics.
>You're an assbag.
You're a complete faggot, why can't you argue why it matters? We didn't know shit about what happened to Ozai besides losing his bending.
>Instead of seeing anyone else's end, all I got was Korra AND Asami's.
Not really. I guess the fact that it's the end seems to carry more importance to you than it does to me. All these people will still live their lives. Shoehorning a sentoff for everybody wouldf have felt stunted to me, but to each his own.
>I would've been alrght with nobody else getting an ending, if Korra got an ending that wasn't tied to anyone else.
>You know, because the show is called 'The Legend of Korra'
That's silly. Aang ended up kissing Katara and I'm sure you didn't go "it's not called the last airbender AND HIS BITCH".
>Like how Korra was quick to save Kuvira
I liked that. It was a Peter Parker moment. Hell it was an Aang moment. Showed some of the progression she even talks about with Tenzin.
>how Suyin didn't forgive Kuvira
Suyin a cunt. Her character was all over the place in this book and it's never acknowledged.
>But what I was referencing was the fact that 90%, if not more, of the fandom is embroiled over a shipping war right now. And if you don't think that's true you're either an idiot, or you're just fucking with me. Both of which bore me to no end.
Nigga you're literally doing it too.
In the end, the only thing Korra will leave us talking about for years on end is how Korra is/is not straight/bi/lesbian.
Bravo The Legend of Korra, bravo.
Guys, the creators clearly intended a romantic tone for that last scene. It is canon. These aren't real people, it's a show made by people, and they knew how that looked.
Was korrasami a good choice? I don't know, but it IS canon, and clearly so.
They're not munching carpet. They went on vacation together. Its ship bait, and you're all taking it. An actual relationship would be hilarious because relationships are complicated. You argue, you get in fights.
Ship bait doesn't survive that type of shit.
Better than Akame ga Kill's finale though, where everyone waltzes into a fucking meatgrinder except for Akame and Najenda.
Simple, Zaheer would talk to Iroh how cool Iroh was. Then start getting sad because Kuvira happened because of him and all he wanted was to fix the world.
Iroh would give him a nice talk about "sometimes people sometimes people want to do the correct thing but follow the wrong path. As long as he accepts what he has done and he is sorry for all these in his heart, there is nothing to be ashamed nor be sad about" over some hot jasmine tea.
After that they will go peep on Korra and Asami bathing. Also Iroh occasionally forcing Zaheer to pick up rare tea leavese and herbs from mountain tops because you cannot have a good tea without coming over hardships
>"Sure Varrick's made a few mistakes in his past, but that doesn't mean he should pay for it for the rest of his life."
>Never paid for any of her own crimes
>"You're going to pay for everything you've done!"
Never change, Su.
The last two episodes were very well made. Everything you said is true of the season and series as a whole, it was a lot of bad and misled ideas, but as far as the directing and writing of this last season to close everything off and do it effectively, they succeeded.
It's too bad the series overall is a disappointment
/co/ is losing their minds. And I'm reaping all the benefits.
So the finale is already here?
Is it worth watching it? I stopped after watching a few episodes of season 2 after being so letdown by the ending of season 1.
Does it get better?
I bet you thought katara was gonna leave aang after the atla finale too
This is how retarded the people denying the canon sound. I hope this post was a joke.
>The thing I completely made up is canon.
It was ambiguous to the point of comedy. You can't help but chuckle at the ending. It builds to this moment and it's just "blah".
Bryke just shoved that last scene in there to defend their awful writing. Korrasami isn't canon and now it never will be.
The finale is truly wonderful, I feel
But no, the show overall isn't very good leading up to it
I'd say to just watch it and get it over with. It's watchable at least, and don't you want to know how the last airbender franchise ends?
Two years of my life watching Korra. All for a lesbian ending. Worth it. I feel immensely empty now.
Those tears are thick, but not as thick as a nice solid canon.
Please just think about it. It's heavily implied and clearly intentionally so. There's really no denying the intention.
To say it isn't canon is to imply that the whole scene was totally friendly and there was no intention of romantic tones at all, which is clearly not true
It looked romantic because they made it look that way, on purpose.
The fuck was that ending
>Korra going all "i don't feel so good" on Asami
>Haha i know right my father just died ;_; Please don't worry i'm fine
>Nvm that let's go full lesbo right now
>Why the fuck not
Also what the fuck is the status on Bolin/Opal? How the fuck did they absolutely ignore it? Did she fucking die in that one moment where Bolin held her in his hands all tragically but everyone just couldn't be bothered to even mention it?
No, if they killed her they'd expect us to be sad about it.
I honestly have no idea how there managed to be such a disconnect between a character's behavior and how the show portrays her. She feels like an Aaron Diaz-level self-insert.
Yes, and maybe tumblr kids will fantasize about us for years and discuss for days that we talking to eachother and agreeing emotionally is a clear hint we're gay and are going to date. Forever.
Is it time for a beach episode? Because I'm drowning in tears here.
You can see Opal pulling Bolin onto the dance floor. So its safe to say they fucked like wild beasts later.
Honestly I think it's worth watching. Season 2 has the two Wan episodes which are great, season 3 was decent overall, and I thought season 4 was good barring the clip show and some missed opportunities here and there. The seasons have their ups and downs but they never really hit the "low" that was the Amon twist, in my opinion.
>It has happened in the show
Then what is canon, Makorra? Skrillex and Tenzin's younger daughter?
It is canon and you will deal with it, or you might not deal with it and rage on forever, both works well
Yeah Su kinda fucked up
>Gets off scott free for shit she pulled and her SISTER apologizes
>Doesn't step up to lead EK
>Doesn't help in cleaning up EK at all so Kuvira has to fucking do it
>Kuvira gets the job done but eventually it comes to her fucking doorstep
>Then she does something and wants Korra to immediately kill her
>Korra says she wants to try and talk it out first, Su says that would be fine...only to immediately try and assassinate Kuvira before even hearing back from Korra
>Her assassination attempt fucking bombs and she gets captured along with some other members of her family who aided in the attempt fucking shit up for everyone
>going to watch the final
hobbit movie todayand it's going to suck
>lesbian ending on TLOK
this day is gonna suck for sure
For me, it doesn't count until there's a kiss on-screen. After that moment it would've become undeniable, but it didn't happen. The ending was ambiguous and people are probably supposed to make up their own mind on it. Bryke have done this before; they throw in some cutesy bonding moments between the characters and then giggle as the fandom goes nuts over those scenes.
I'm just happy that the Sato scene earlier was not pointless, and the guy got a reappearance and a redemption. It's nice how this book worked on the portrayal of villains in general. Korra and the audience got to have more sympathetic looks at Sato, Zaheer and Kuvira, instead of just dismissing them all as pure evil like before.
they're fine, they'll live happily ever after. You could see them dancing together near the end. I'm more wondering about what happened to bataar jr. and kuvira.
Jeremy Zuckerman just uploaded the final song. https://soundcloud.com/jeremy-zuckerman/the-legend-of-korra?in=jeremy-zuckerman/sets/from-the-legend-of-korra
Get your tissues, /co/. The rides is coming to an end. Also,
OH MY DICK THAT ENDING, KORRASAMI, SO MUCH YES
Zaheer already looked pretty rehabilitated, especially after hearing about Kuvira. Im pretty sure they are already having tea parties together and Zaheer doing Iroh's hard work for getting the tea leaves
I bet some exec was like "this is how you ended it? fuck this, i'm pulling your funding."
BOTFA actually isn't half bad.
Its not unbelievably fucking boring for 2/3 of the movie like the 1st 2, its mostly just the huge battle between everyone.
Though having Smaug at the beginning was an awful idea because hes still the best part of the trilogy and the movie feels cheaper when the mother fucking dragon dies 5 mins in and the villains now the pale orc fag again.
>It's the responsibility of a single wealthy city leader to run an entire country because the country had no plans in place for what to do if the queen was assassinated.
>It's reasonable for the world to ask her to run the country.
>all of you cunts buttblasted over this ending
REALLY? DID YOU REALLY NOT SEE THIS SHIT COMING?
This is your own faults anons, Bryke has always been shit. But what do you care? You're going to read this and still buy whatever shit they push out next.
You did this to yourselves, praising two lords of tumblr and mediocre writing, fuckin' please.
>They were just friends.
...Yeah, no they weren't. That's not how they make a 'just friends' scene. Are you people really denying it? They flat out fucking did it, there's no argument.
all i wanted was a good adaptation of the book, but whatever, i'm surprised with that lesbo ending. I was making fun of it the entire series but in the end DAMN SON.
At least we got Korra's feet before the show ended. That's something right?
Final scene they hold hands and look into eachother eyes, can be interpreted as whatever you want.
Except for the Tumblriste shits who are screaming "COFRIMED CONFIRMED CONFIRMED" fucking everywhere right now
but it is sudden as no amount of >implying
makes the ending make sense.
seriously, how lesbians came out of the ending only demonstrates that their wasn't enough time to give the characters any kind of development.
lame ending at the end of an okay episode
>I fully bet that some exec panicked.
Production and writing of Book 3 and 4 were well underway when Nick basically pulled the plug. It IS possible that a higher up saw they were going to end it as they did and pulled the show.
>boyfriend dropped you for another girl
>father was a terrorist who is now ded after going full Human Bean
>guy who attempted to steal your entire company is now happily married
>your sity is in ruin
Why the fuck not?
Bataar Jr got of scott free thanks to Su and suffered no consequences for his actions,. Just becaue he got captured and Kuvira cut him loose, suddenly he became totally innocent of everything he'd done to that point
I doubt they'll be getting back together, if anything Wu will hook up with Kuvira.
>While no longer Earth King, Wu said that he'd be working with the Avatar in the future, probably helping to keep the newly independent Earth States stable.
>Kuvira will probably be tasked with bringing in remnant units of her army and also keeping the Earth States stable as penance for her actions.
>Wu sang about how he still found Kuvira attractive even though she tried to kill him.
How's that for a crackship!
>Wow, Korra you never told me the spirit world had such nice lakes. We should go swimming! Did you pack an outfit?
>Hahahahahahaha. No, no I did not. Lets go swimming.
I could care less what tumblr thinks. It's a place for oddly specific porn and a pen for the faggots.
Yuri is yuri and the all-consuming anal devastation is icing on the cake.
You don't have to believe
You people don't seem to understand that there was an obvious intention in that scene for romantic subtext - you are not watching real events, you are watching a thing people think about and then craft
They didn't have them hold hands and warmly smile while looking into each others eyes because they wanted a "just friends scene"
Also, the creators stay really in touch with the fanbase, and they know what people want. That's why they did it, probably.
Not to mention this being a direct parallel to ATLA's last scene, in which the MC is with his romantic interest.
It's intentional. There's no arguing against that.
The new avatar series in general have been absolutely terrible, I loved the original series, but korra have been a HUUUUUUUUUGE letdown. The characters are bland, the plot is bland, the animation is bland, everything about it is just... bland.
What happened to Kai? I didn't see him in anywhere.
Ending would've been better if:
>Zaheer comes to help or something.
>Korra vs Kuvira fights lasted longer and forced Korra to go avatar rampage state, or seek help from previous avatars.
>Closure on other characters.
>Mako doing something
aweseomefor once. His brother Bolin eclipsed him in every way.
>Less drama. At least make the drama actually dramatic >hurr durr no parents.
>They could've added more on the spirit aspect.
Like spirits helping etc..
Mako x Korra end true end
Next avatar is an Earthbending bisexual guy who ntrs his gf with a guy.
It's not only opposite shippers who hated this whole Korra and Asami thing. I hate ships, and I hate shit endings even more. What sucks is how they gave "shippers" (worst of all, LGBT shippers, who tend to be SJW tumblr tards) some fuel to go on about how something "is canon" when it's clearly speculation. They could've used those 2 minutes for something decent, since the Kuvira ending was ridiculous and rushed up.
Because it isn't consistent with the rest of the show
>inb4 letter romance, etc etc
If they had more time to sort out the consistency I'd be totally fine, but jump straight right in? Regardless of how awesome the R34 is gonna be, it still is a shit ending to a very promising show with many promising characters
I feel your pain.
She didn't need to "run the country", she just needed to help stabilize it. And it is reasonable to ask her to step up when everything around her is going to shit while her city is full of wealth and power. It's not like they were asking her to go help a water tribe or something, this shit was happening all around her.
Plus if it was Su running things there'd be no "re-education camps" and no power seizing, she could have kept things sane.
Because he's a frail vegetarian most likely.
And he's in the awkward position of being Miyazaki's adoptive son despite having completely different philosophy and interests to the old man.
Does this sound like a fucking educational show to you?
Baatar have rich and influenced family. And I doubt Kuvira would like to pull him in jail with her. She is a dictator, not a total asshole.
It's a very realistic response.
She has absolutely zero connection to the monarchy and literally no previous life experience that suggests she would run the largest fucking country in the world well. She runs a single city where most of the population are her family members and close friends of the family.
The whole fucking reason she declined was because she was smart enough to see that they only way some random metal bender from an isolated city was going to reunify the country was going to be by forcing their ideals on the population. So she refused.
Knowing Bryke they'll soon make a statement that korra and asami are indeed a couple and that they just weren't allowed to show a kiss. Hopefully they'll also tell us what happened with bataar jr. and kuvira.
>If you like the idea of brown on cream skin rubbing together in a sweaty passion you are a SJW tumblr tard
>If you like a pairing because it seems to make the most sense to you, you are a SJW tumblr tard
truly the end of an era, regardless the end I'm gonna miss this days and having this ride with all of you guys
>What happened to Kai? I didn't see him in anywhere.
during Meelo's balloon attack, Ryu was hit and Kai saved him. Then they never showed up again.
I mean, the way they were holding hands and looking all lovey dovey, maybe they went on a vacation together, too
do not know what to think of all this.
although i did love watching the cannon charge up and fucking up everything in it's path. just that raw power.
fights were good, not great. i expected something more like a proper final showdown when everything got fucked up and not some lascannon dance
Just finished it
I liked it; pretty much every relevant character had their time to shit. Asamidad's death and Wu abolishing the monarchy instead of turning the EK into a constitutional monarchy was a little forced, but it was good overall, got some really sweet animation at times.
Overall I'd say:
Good point on that, but you don't seem to understand that since it is indeed a made up thing, nothing is "canon" unless it's clearly shown. There's no subtext in what can considered canon.
I for one am going to go watch Scrubs. The one show that never let me down.
Suyin was absolutely retarded for thinking she could ignore the rest of the world, especially her neighbors. She didn't do anything until an invasion was literally right on her doorstep, and got her city conquered because of it.
>Also, the creators stay really in touch with the fanbase.
and that's the problem with the ending, it's something you would expect the fans to want but not actually make sense of or justify the scene its self.
you could have the two get together but you would have to build up more tension between the two and reduce the amount of subtext that was thrown in for the paring to actually work. With out that the ending is nonsensical and in the most literal sense of the word "pandering" because they didn't have the time to make anything for the two.
Meanwhile at some beach near rebuplic city.
Bolin and Opal being lovey dovey in the sea and Mako thinking "Oh i wonder how are Korra and Asami in the spirit world, they should have no problem since they entered from the portal, i hope they are having fun".
Poor clueless Mako
No it means that you have actual friends unlike the autistic fucks who are incapable of discerning subtle differences between friendship and actual I've kissed you several times love
Bryke is going to make a comment about how this was just a friendship ending.
You all know it to be true.
/pol/iticians are crying, and it is probably not because Kuvler lost the war.
>No it means that you have actual friends unlike the autistic fucks who are incapable of discerning subtle differences between friendship and actual I've kissed you several times love
To be fair, Bryke are almost completely incapable of conveying such subtle details.
We need a side-by-side webm/gif of Bolin ripping the building and Mako doing the lightningdance. They were so similar in that they were slow, deliberate bending dances; majestic in that they brought us back to traditional-style bending.
Considering Mako and Bolin were primarily criticized for their stale boxing style bending in the first season, this makes it even more impacting.
>tfw we never got to see Asami's or Zhu Li's feet ;_;
>it ends up being a truly lesbian ending
>it starts a new era for western animation developement
It's left rather ambiguous, I can definitely see where it would be implied. Wouldn't go as far as to say it's canon though, this is the same board where some people legit thought AnnaXElsa was a thing
For a moment during the portalplosion i thought that the energy helix that went up and the scene in spirit world after was about Korra and Kuvira both dying to establish balance in the world but no. Turns out it's just lesbians all the way down.
>/pol/ caring about korra
>taking cartoon politics so close to heart
Well gotta say that's pretty pathetic even for them. Might as well just merge the place with /b/ at this point.
Just watch Mad Men, her VA's feet are better anyway.
Yeah, that's why I said CONSTITUTIONAL monarchy, as opposed to an absolute monarchy one as it used to be.
Wu clearly showed that he had what it took, he just needs advisers around to keep him in on the right track.
I liked his character overall though, his development was a bit too quick, but I always like those "Huge privileged dick gets in touch with the common people and grows as a person" types of plot
I feel kind of cheated honestly, I'm not mad about the korra/asami bullshit at all. I'm just frustrated that they didn't do hardly shit with anything else.
>korra's past lives are still gone to the ether making her the weakest of all the avatars still.
>a super weapon rips open a new portal and everything in the universe is okay with this. yep! nope! no long lasting repercussions here! as far as we're concerned a magical superweapon can fire shit all over the fucking place and make another one and that'll be ok too!
>big ass spirit tree possibly irrevocably damaged by kuvira's army and that's supposibly ok too
>spirit vines imprisoning people never touched on again.
there's probably a decent ammount of shit to go on from here but it's all over now. now we take our (notgay) handholding and go fuck ourselves. Nick wanted this series dead a while ago by having online only streaming.
>this faggot acting as if kuvira will ever see the damn light of day again going against the world and commiting crimes against humanity and spirits for the sake of total domination under her rule.
I really just want another season, I just like seeing this shit every friday of my god damned drunken life
I love the fact that Bryke set out to make a romance for the Twilight crowd, but abandoned it halfway through because they realized that it sucked so hard and girl on girl action is way hotter anyway.
my biggest disappointments is that they made Kuvira completely 'evil'.
at the start of the season, i found her to be a very grey character, doing what ever it took to ensure peace and order throughout the Earth Kingdom. things that others couldn't do because of how fucked up it got. but when they started introducing these 'camps' and how she treats the liberated villages like shit, thats when things started going down for me
Man, if Kuvira won and killed Korra, it could lead into a really cool concept for a third series
>Earth Avatar born into the Earth Empire, that now controls the entire continent and is in war with the Fire Nation and Water Tribes
>The Avatar is educated to be loyal to the empire, and Kuvira trains him to become the ultimate weapon
>A fire nation POW who is forced at spirit-gun point to teach him Fire Bending manages to help him escape
>He travels the world, realizing the horrors of the Earth Empire
Basically The Last Airbender with Zuko as the main character with a dash of 1984
>End of season 3
>Jokingly say that the series will end with Asami and Korra walking into the spirit would because the human world isn't ready for their forbidden love
>this episode happens
SHOULD HAVE TAKEN A FUCKING SCREENSHOT, FUCK!
so the earth kingdom (or the united states of earth) is basically america now right
Does anyone have that Korra and Asami comic where they're on vacation or something? I reemmber seeing it a while back.
All /co/ threads are archived anon, just search for it.
Until then, you are lying
Well, we just figured it out then.
>write a shit ass finale
>wonder how we could possibly make it interesting
>slam some ambiguous scene in the ending
>watch people discuss our show despite the shitty, rushed ending with no satisfactory closure
So Aang was an Airnomad in a steampunk setting and Korra was a water bender in a dieselpunk setting.
Considering that bryke never wanted to do a fantasy show and originally wanted to do a sci-fi and they have said they are done with the show who is ready for the inevitable Raygun gothic aka atom punk earth state avatar?
they are clearly fans of the rocketeer what with bolin having the jacket and varrick being Howard huges.
If they at least made a dark horse comic or a video game about the next avatar instead of a show what would you want?
pic related i want them to go to the moon and fight little green spirits.
Wasn't there a rumor running around that the whole holding hands was actually tucked in at the end at the last minute, because if so the whole holding hands wasn't meant to be, Korra was just trying to help her friend get away in a difficult moment just like Asami had done for her, it would had made sense with the fact that Korra's face lit up after mako told her that he loved her, it would had ended with Tenzin and Korra taking about how the adventure just started and there's much more to do, and the ending would jag been a whole lot less shitty
Careful to not cut yourself on that edge, It was a genuine question. I checked /pol/ earlier to see some bashing on the terrible ending since it involver LGBT discussion and saw none, so I proceeded to ask.
I feel they left lots of loose ends
I was really expecting for some deus ex machina-ish shit that would make Korra recover her connection to past avatars.
I thought it would happen back when she fiiiinally healed like...for the third time from the poison and Post Menstrual Syndrome Disorder, but nothing.
Then i thought it would happen when she triggered Hiroshima on Republic Cit, but nothing again
THEN she is at the spirit world thingy similar (I believe) to the reflection thingy she saw when learning about Raava, but what we get is her reflection becoming the other Dyke becauseloltheyareSOalikeguisebeleiveus!!!
You're saying it as if they have any budget or good rep with nick left to remake those episodes.
who would win, kuvira and her army with the colossus, or ozai and his army on the day of sozin's comet?
get that anime shit out of here! seriosly I can't stand the fucking beach episode trope anymore! they did it for gargantia! A show about a hyper advanced robot suit pilot and a race of genetically engineered squid people on earth where the vast majority of life is on boats with no landmasses in sight. THEY DID A BEACH EPISODE FOR THAT! WHAT THE FUCK!?
LET'S STOP TALKING ABOUT METALBENDING SATSUKI AND LESBIANS FOR A SECOND
CAN I JUST SAY HOW SHITTY THE KORRA DVD ART IS COMPARED TO THE AVATAR ONES?
LIKE, THEY DIDN'T EVEN FUCKING TRY
I guess "sodomite" is the new "degenerate".
Even though I like the show, it bothered me to no end how the writers treat male characters. Part of Avatar always was going against established clichés, but by going against them so obviously they're more part of the problem.
>every male character is a blabbering moron or gets made fun of in one way or another
>Wu, Bolin, Meelo, Varrick
>male characters are usually portrayed as flawed or incapable
>literally every male villain and every father figure in the show
>every female character is strong woman who need no man and usually more capable than their male counterparts
You can't shove your speculations as canon. As much as one could argue it was their intention, there's no clear proof of it. I'll easily accept it's canon if they confirm it, even if I don't like it. There's just no way to prove it's one way or the other with this ambiguity.
/pol/ can't invade shit, they are to busy making sweet love to their hot pockets and worrying about the happy merchant.
>mfw my sister said in desperation it was more like a sister relationship, seeing as how Asami lost her dad and both her and Korra are only childs,
>mfw my sister doesn't want to accept the Lesbohappening
Don't really care, just waiting for the porn.
Something something start wars redeem villain maybe ending also main characters get together at the last second with no buildup nobody else gets resolution including those characters.
Mako could have been a based character but he just got so fucked over by the writers. I mean seriously his whole fucking arc in b4 is being a BODYGUARD and he doesnt even do anything cool
>on that edge
>not caring about the cesspool of garbage that is /pol/ is now considered edgy
How about you fuck off to back where you came from. We don't need morons like you here. We have enough from tumblr already.
Amon being a better villain than Kuvira doesn't make Air a better season. Air was shit because Korra's "victory" came in a way that rendered the rest of her journey meaningless, while Balance is the only season to give her any development at all.
>From a scale of 1-10, how badly did mako get fucked over in this series? Seriously, he wasnt allowed to do anything cool like the entire series
IMHO Mako's scene in the finale was awesome. Too bad they didn't let him have more moments like that.
I think Korra is a lot like ZZ Gundam
It changes a lot from the previous show and has a lot of failings (especially early on). But outside a few really painful parts it is decent as shows go, it just had so much to live up to that it would struggle even if it had been great
Also anime janai
to be fair this is on nick. Anything more overt than the could be interpreted as friend/sisterhood gestures would probably have been cut out.
agree though that the scene feels a little out of place. If they had walked in hand in hand or even elbow locked side by side it would have worked okay for not feeling super weird.
It's the turn and stare into each other's eyes that pushed it into "wait what?" zone for me.
god I fucking hate that show, I honestly wouldn't have too much of a problem with it if it dropped the "face time" bullshit scenes that insinuate that it's a reality show or some unscripted cocksucking bullshit or whatever the fuck. it doesn't belong in a scripted sitcom and it's just awkward as fuck.
Ended with Varrick/Zhu Li wedding, Wu turning the EK into a democracy, and heavily implied Korrasami.
Korra saved Kuvira from her own weapon and convinced her to give up by talking to her for awhile about it.
That ending was still about friendship, right?
>It's intentional. There's no arguing against that.
Every part of the series was intentional. What a dumb argument.
Just because they intended for a scene to appear doesn't mean you get to dictate what the scene was about. It was ambiguous.
Leading with "you can't argue against it" is presumptuous and it pretty much outs you as indefensibly biased.
since they're both canon bisexuals you can probably expect fanart like that from the likes of owler and iahfy (who are both bisexual too iirc)
easily an 8
promising character got raped in the ass by shit writing from shit producers, then tossed to one side to try and alleviate the problem. Then finally getting him to an acceptable standard, but a bit too late
Make your next Team Avatar.
>Bi Male Waterbender. Serious attitude and is generally shy and clumsy. Uses bloodbending as steroids.
>Straight Earthbender Avatar. The current era has greatly advanced in technology. His goals are more into scientific discovery of combining elements and their outputs etc..
>Straight female Firebender. Her bending is more focused on lightning and has blue flames instead of orange. She's the team's tech adept.
>Straight female Airbender. Is the team's comedian. She's an air dancer and uses graceful dancing techniques to bend air. Is oblivious to guys/girls that hit her.
>Team pets would be a badgermole and a spirit dragonfly
How does the robot even work?
What happened to Mako?
What makes the Korra x Asami thing "real" as opposed to just them being friends or something?
Today, on /co/...
- Korrasami (also a giant robot and Zhu Li x Varrick but nobody gives a shit because lesbians)
- Brykes = Hacks
- Brykes = Gods
- Allahu Snackbar
>had an air fleet
>fire benders in the tip of the ship with huge ass fucking flame throwers burning countryside
>Azula at her peck
I imagine those armored suits get pretty hot anyway. Metal bending has to have a distance limit.
>Korra saved Kuvira from her own weapon and convinced her to give up by talking to her for awhile about it.
This is what bothered me the most about the finale since I don't give a shit about shipping.
Korra: Kuvira we are the same.
Kuvira: Fuck off no we're not!
Korra: Yes we are.
Kuvira: Ok, I surrender.
Why is /co/ angry about this.
This is the exact thing that /co/ would do if you retards were in charge of anything.
>"lol guys, get this shit, we fucking end the series with korra and asami hand in hand."
>"nothing, that's it, it just fucking ends"
>"there will be so much porn"
I dropped this show some months ago when I started getting back into anime after quitting that for about five years. Being able to compare Western animation and anime again with fresh memories, I really get saddened by how utterly mediocre this show is, despite Korra being one of the biggest commitments made by Nickelodeon, one of the major producers of TV animation in the West.
>capable anything till the finale
>Su, Lin, toph
>not still beat asami in inventing shit
>literal a villain
they are equal in the show. Just joke characters like meelo and wu got that treatment.
>What makes the Korra x Asami thing "real" as opposed to just them being friends or something?
>I too often hold my friends hands and stare lovingly and romantically into their eyes when we hang out together. They never think it's weird because we're like so platonic
please get a reality check
>What makes the Korra x Asami thing "real" as opposed to just them being friends or something?
Bryke cannot into symbolism. Trying to draw any hard conclusions from this mess is an exercise in futility.
