I don't have enough knowledge about when they met but they have crossed over once or twice. Now Spider 2099 is stuck in the current time because he went back to stop a certain event from happening because he was disappearing in his own time.
>>
Ok, I haven't been following Spider-verse very closely, but where the heck is Spock? I know that he's been leading the charge for the spiders to some extent, but now the spiders are also recruiting normal Peter? What gives, time travel shenanigans?
>>
>>66986765
Spock has been recruting on his own, other Spdiers don't know about him yet.
>>
>>66986765
Spock has a different group of spiders that he's fighting with. There's essentially two groups of Spider-Men plotting to stop Morlun.

I saings it for weeks ago. Spock will be unmaked at the end of this, by 616 Peter. They will fight him and he will start babling about how superior he is, them the fat guy of Orizon will activate hi time machine and suck spock back in time no issue #19.

That will be one of the reasons for Ott giving up of being superior, he knows that peter must return to save the multiverse.

Is it just me, or is this whole story absolutely retarded? Considering the idea of endless universes and the fact that even as vanilla a spiderman as 616 put up a fight against Morlun, you'd think the first thing the spidermen would do if they had the power to gather spidermen from whatever universe is that they'd go get a spiderman who'd become a god or something. The obvious workaround for this would be for the Inheritors to be more secretive about what they do.

And as far as i can tell, since they're assumedly trans-multidimensional, there only exists one form of them each. There is (infinite universes means literally every possibility exists, even bacteria-spiderman) a spiderman decked out with anti-inheritor weaponry. And considering they seem to know which spidey's universe they're jumping into it's not like it's a crapshoot where they can't plan strategically which spideys to nab.

This is fucking terrible.
I mean, I guess I shouldn't be surprise, I never liked Dan Slott's writing, and the only reason I got interested in this Spider-Verse thing is seeying all the reactions here on /co of beloved characters getting butchered.
But this? God dammit this is so fucking dumb...

I love crazy comics, where cowboys and talking dinosaurs can have a team-up, but the idea of multidimensional victorian-steampunk totem-vampires hunting down spider-themed superheroes is so bafflingly retarded I can't just get into this freaking thing.
I'm sure there're writers out there that can sell me this concept, but Slott simply doesn't have what it takes to make it work.
And the Morlun's family is such a fucking cliché I doubt they spent more than five minutes puting it together... the cold bitch sister, the bratty teens, the snotty one, the big guy that only thinks about food, the token good guy waiting for redemption and the malevolent shadowy patriarch... are you kidding me? If it wasn't for all the murderers I would think that they were selling this to four year olds.

Not sure if we dislike it/like it for the same reasons anon, but it annoys me a bit less than the Mayday who came to Earth-X and brazenly said to Peter, "oh, YOU'RE not my father, your CLONE is."

I mean, I can understand where she's coming from. Her family just died, and all she has left is her baby brother, but still.

Also, Reilly-raised May a shit. No respect for her biological daddy.

>>
>>66987615
Assuming LSS Spidey is an alt Older Peter (not Happy Birthday last stand because he isn't earth 4, and not GH Spidey), he and Bullet Points would probalby talk science a lot, I think. The maturity of an older, wiser, and smart Peter with the young Banner that ended up taking on Peter's responsibility in another world.

Why would SpOck recruit him? Does he just need someone to fill in the scientific skills that he wouldn't have (Otto is not a chemist like Peter is)?

"Character Descriptions" come the fuck on anon, haven't you ever heard of tropes? Google it. Fact is, we know the character archetypes but it's highly doubtful Slott could give them the spin to make them interesting.

I really hope Karn's lying about himself being important/not enjoying the hunt, anything, just so this fucking thing wouldn't be as predictable.

Also, ASOIAF splits them all into different houses, and basically every shonen anime has them in villain groups - the oni/bara, the nerd, the ice queen vagina with sex appeal etc, heck, that formula is even standard for many protagonist groups. And twins hating each other is fucking lame, but it's either that or fucking each other in Marvel.
>>
>>66987378
Because he's a hack

Frankly, it's amazing that Firestar and Iceman didn't curbstomp the enemy as Morluns are only super-effective vs. spider-men
>>
>>66986581
At first I was annoyed that Porker was so snarky, I thought snarky animal people are overdone.

But then I realized he's been taken to a dimension where everyone is cannibal giant monkeys who think it's funny to talk about luaus, and it seems like every dimension in the multiverse is made up of cannibal monkeys. Never mind the actual spider-cannibal-monkey-draculas, I'd be pissed too.

Literally there's going to be an alt Big Time in Spider-verse, heck, quite a few universes probably just have Peter in a different suit. Like perhaps there's one where Johnny never came back and Spidey stayed as a part of the Future Foundation. Also Mk.1 Bulletproof Spidey was killed.
>>
>>66999922
Yes, I understand that. But listing them as 616 is just flat out incorrect. Otherwise, a ton of Spideys - the alt-Ben Reilly or MC2 Spider-girl, for example - could be listed as 616, because they are just universes where something happened differently.
>>
>>66999492
Unfortunately, Slott's decided The Other suddenly doesn't work against the Morlun family, even though it was explicitly shown as wrecking the FUCK out of them before, even when being hosted by a Peter literally seconds from death.

Necessary to raise the stakes I suppose, but it's just another highlight of why choosing these saps as the primary villains was dumb to begin with.

They actually were meant to be the same story. They just didn't get a chance to properly end TAS, and when the people in charge of Unlimited started, they just glossed over the Spider-Wars and started a new arc based in the old universe. Just look at Venom and Carnage, and the connection to Reed and MJ's knowledge of Pete's Spideyness.

There are a bunch of huge direct conflicts with TAS's universe. I mean, you bring up Venom and Carnage, but the Venom and Carnage in Unlimited are completely different from the Venom and Carnage of TAS, who were banished to a pocket dimension I might add.

Them, and Marvel Mangaverse Spider-Man. Each of them are written with wildly different tones. It would be a complete disaster. I would love it.

All they need to do is figure out how to steal Peters from distinct moments in time lines, and get the Peter who had the Beyonders powers for that microsecond during Secret Wars.

Or they cut to the chase and let Supaidaman kill everyone with his instakilling mech
>>
>>67002876
>Or they cut to the chase and let Supaidaman kill everyone with his instakilling mech
If they actually recreate Leopardon's stock sequence in the comic, that would be fucking rad.

Leopardon, the robot that became invincible because some asshole stole it.
>>
>>67002800
Generally, most people disliked the Other stuff from JMS, since they feel it doesn't mesh with Pete's science background.

To which I can say in a comic book universe where magic exists alongside science, that distinction is only superficial, and if they had kept the ambiguity of it from the first story it would've been received better, especially since Pete had to think his way out of that one.
>>
>>66990728
>that would be retarded and a complete waste of development if they were to just create a character, his story, origin, and supporting characters only to have him killed in the end

i didn't mind it much, but I remember my dad and I talking about it, and he thought that the mystique of the first story was all in it's ambiguous charm

The difference there is that the magic shit was suddenly forced into his backstory decades after the fact and the story it was introduced in wasn't all that great to begin with.

Sufferingman would probably let Morlun murder him. Death would be a sweet release for the poor bastard.
>>
>>67003182
Eh, like I said, the first story kept it ambigious - "maybe my powers are from the spider, maybe they're from the radiation, what matters is what I do with them" - and to be honest, radioactive spider-bite isn't that solid of a background to begin with. That's not forced, that was what later happened with full-on Other and such. Which isn't that bad IMO, since magic and science coexisting like this is for me acceptable in cape comic universes.
And even then I'd prefer it over retconned Cindy Moon.
>>
>>67003204
Knowing Verna, she would be upset if he didn't run away and welcome death.

To further his suffering, she would take him as her pet and let him hunt other spiders.
>>
Why can't dead spiders just enter Other mode?
>>
>>67003280
> Forced to rape/kill other spiders with mind tigers
> sufferingman is crying the entire time
> begs other spiders to kill him
and then either SPock or Assassin Spidey murders him
>>
>>67003340
Two explanations:

1. There is only one of The Other.
2. Time has to pass for the dead person to become the Other. When the inheritors kill the spiders they eat the life force in an instant.
>>
>>66999922
Mk 1 Armor Peter was actually the armored millionaire Peter from the Spiderverse episodes in TAS
>>
>>67003342
>and then either SPock or Assassin Spidey murders him

Can you *really* call it murder at that point?
>>
>>67003188
oh
did realize there was noir I hadn't read
>>
>>67003424
I wonder if they do that specifically so that they don't become The Other.
>>
>>67003667
Man, how many times has this Spiderverse nonsense been done?

By this point I can almost imagine the Spiderverse being like Mr. Spider's Neighborhood and Peter frequently has lunch with himselves on his days off.
>>
>>67004105
So there's been spiderverse on TAS
There's been many 616 teaming up with another spiderman from another universe
there was a spiderverse in UltimateSpidermanAS
There was Spider-men, which is really more 66 meeting other spiders
And now Spider-verse.
>>
>>66991910
>>66992071

I just read that Spider-Girl issue myself. True, Spider-Girl never says her secret identity, but he met a costume-less Mayday, who identified herself as such (although Peter heard her as "May Day"), so he probably recognized her face.
So either Slott realized such a minor point and made it a plot point, or he has no idea wtf he's doing.

>>67000670
It sort of looks like where the Eternals and the High Evolutionary fought the New Warriors, which would mean that Kaine was going in that fight already half beaten up.

>>67002303
Are you seriously forgetting Spider-Island, Big Time, Anti-Venom, and End of the Earth?

Reminder that Karn is a Spider.
>>
>>66986811
So I really don't understand, is the power that the Morlun's have to turn any capable hero into a slow-motion retard with brittle bones? That's literally the only explanation I can think of.
Slott has done a terrible job with these villains. And, you know, everything else.
>>
>>66990050
only in an industry with a standard of writing as low as comics could someone as slimy and moronic as Slott take charge of said industry's most iconic character.
>>
>>67000443
Say what? MC2 Mayday's Peter was the one from Unlimited?
>>
>>67006601
You just haven't been following this at all and are being stupid. You still think this is the same Morlun from before. It's not.

He's killed God knows how many Spiders since he restarted his hunt + an entire world of animal totems. In all seriousness he could be written as beating the shit out of all the Avengers legitly right now (He dranks some cosmics too) the only thing that we think hurts them atm is themselves/MAYBE their own weapons unless Karn really isn't one of them.
>>
>>66987758
what I hate is that we haven't seen why the fuck these Morluns kick so much ass. We meet a Spider, get to know them and then they're killed in 2 panels or off panel.
Where's the spider-sense, the speed, the strength?
It's lazy writing
>>
>>67006650
You're basically asking asking Spider-Man to beat up Superman. Here's a reminder

-They're meant to kill Spider-Men by nature as it is. By nature, meaning Peter isn't meant to win the fight. It's like expecting a cockroach to kick my ass.
-They've been feeding on lots of Spiders for a long time growing ever more powerful on top of that
-And the biggest thing of all: THEY CONTROL AND CAN EDIT REALITIES VIA THE GREAT WEAVER

This is going to come down to getting to the great weaver while sacrificing everyone along the way/MAYBE finding out that Karn/their weapons can hurt them perhaps/Having Karn turn on them since he's possibly a Spider.
>>
>>66987311
>>66987272
All anybody wanted from this event was Spiders hanging out.
Instead we see a new Spidey murdered in each issue and we get to spend time with a family of villains so bland they make the guys the Punisher takes out look positively fucking exotic.

We're living in the dark timeline where somehow an idiot with almost no writing ability is in charge of what should be the best Spider-story ever. Fuck
>>
>>67006693
IMO this is just a retelling of the first Spidey series from the 90s and its finale.

Remember that the Great Weaver is pretty much the #1 goal to rescue at the end of this. He can probably undo everything that they've done just like how the TV show ended.
>>
>>66988813
this has been one of very few things to come out of Spider-Verse that is worth reading.
I'm really hating this event and I was so sure I'd love it. I thought it was going to be fun.
>>
>>67006078
It keeps being said, kind of the entire point of that story is he rejected the other and died, then was resurrected by Venom in an odd way. He isn't still the Other.
