Not OP but lets go
The 5 issues of Edge of Spider-verse, a few of the last Amazing-spider-man and Superior Spider-man #33
Not Op but yeah
I thought it was kinda funny
I don't have enough knowledge about when they met but they have crossed over once or twice. Now Spider 2099 is stuck in the current time because he went back to stop a certain event from happening because he was disappearing in his own time.
Ok, I haven't been following Spider-verse very closely, but where the heck is Spock? I know that he's been leading the charge for the spiders to some extent, but now the spiders are also recruiting normal Peter? What gives, time travel shenanigans?
Once again I'm not OP but thanks anyway. OP didn't post anything besides the starting reply
I wonder when they will cross over. Will be weird if Spock actually meets 616 Peter.
> the guy who never stops eating
> stops eating because someone yelled
Also I'm guessing the father changed the family to become totem hunters, and since Daemos was the guinea pig his metabolism is screwed up
Not even Slott would dare to kill of Kaine now.
I saings it for weeks ago. Spock will be unmaked at the end of this, by 616 Peter. They will fight him and he will start babling about how superior he is, them the fat guy of Orizon will activate hi time machine and suck spock back in time no issue #19.
That will be one of the reasons for Ott giving up of being superior, he knows that peter must return to save the multiverse.
Is it just me, or is this whole story absolutely retarded? Considering the idea of endless universes and the fact that even as vanilla a spiderman as 616 put up a fight against Morlun, you'd think the first thing the spidermen would do if they had the power to gather spidermen from whatever universe is that they'd go get a spiderman who'd become a god or something. The obvious workaround for this would be for the Inheritors to be more secretive about what they do.
Please god no. Kill her off already.
*a spiderman whose powers aren't tied to their own dimension then lmao like with infinite universes there wouldn't be a fuckton of ultrastrong spidermen. I guess the simplistic way writers always do multiverse shit is lost on me.
My same reaction
Man, I liked it better when they bickered in Superior 32. That was Gage writing them right? Fuck, at least they cared, but Slott will only give us some lame completely dysfunctional shit >>66987182
And as far as i can tell, since they're assumedly trans-multidimensional, there only exists one form of them each. There is (infinite universes means literally every possibility exists, even bacteria-spiderman) a spiderman decked out with anti-inheritor weaponry. And considering they seem to know which spidey's universe they're jumping into it's not like it's a crapshoot where they can't plan strategically which spideys to nab.
> Karn "I'm the only one who didn't like the hunt despite being chipper as fuck when we tried to take down the Weaver"
Man, look at Jennix face, that's an unhappy camper.
> Daemos dies first, knows this and doesn't care
> Brix and Bora will probably get thrown into some madness landscape where they won't be able to get out
> Jennix... probably mindkill/retardition?
Also r.i.p. classic Morlun.
>dat gevoel wanneer jij niet te zien ben in Spider-Verse
Cindy Moon/Silk is the Bride, has already been stated.
Man, I remember when the Bride of Nine Spiders was promised to Ai Apaec if he helped out the Queen during Spider-Island. Shit was weird.
This is fucking terrible.
I mean, I guess I shouldn't be surprise, I never liked Dan Slott's writing, and the only reason I got interested in this Spider-Verse thing is seeying all the reactions here on /co of beloved characters getting butchered.
But this? God dammit this is so fucking dumb...
I love crazy comics, where cowboys and talking dinosaurs can have a team-up, but the idea of multidimensional victorian-steampunk totem-vampires hunting down spider-themed superheroes is so bafflingly retarded I can't just get into this freaking thing.
I'm sure there're writers out there that can sell me this concept, but Slott simply doesn't have what it takes to make it work.
And the Morlun's family is such a fucking cliché I doubt they spent more than five minutes puting it together... the cold bitch sister, the bratty teens, the snotty one, the big guy that only thinks about food, the token good guy waiting for redemption and the malevolent shadowy patriarch... are you kidding me? If it wasn't for all the murderers I would think that they were selling this to four year olds.
Not sure if we dislike it/like it for the same reasons anon, but it annoys me a bit less than the Mayday who came to Earth-X and brazenly said to Peter, "oh, YOU'RE not my father, your CLONE is."
I mean, I can understand where she's coming from. Her family just died, and all she has left is her baby brother, but still.
Also, Reilly-raised May a shit. No respect for her biological daddy.
It's the only reason I read through this crap. Still, seems like Coipel is either rushing to get these pages out or he's trying a sketchier style that I don't think suits him all that well.
Still one of the best draftsmen in the biz, tho'.
Assuming LSS Spidey is an alt Older Peter (not Happy Birthday last stand because he isn't earth 4, and not GH Spidey), he and Bullet Points would probalby talk science a lot, I think. The maturity of an older, wiser, and smart Peter with the young Banner that ended up taking on Peter's responsibility in another world.
>So when you see Osborn, rip off his balls.
>Don't date blondes.
>Don't anger the sentient ooze that wears you as much as you wear it
>And watch out for clones!
>Don't... don't let them die.
I know how terrible the Inheritors are, but for some crazy reason I still like them. Someone take me behind the shed and shoot me.
On the other, posting more classic Morlun. The whole inter-dimensional travel is such a shitty thing, not to mention the family... you can add me as "reaction of beloved characters getting butchered".
Fine I'll post team-up as well
I'll stop anyway because storytime.
Coipel's a rad artist, it's my first exposure to him, but it's so weird seeing Morlun so young-ish. He's the kind of character you perceive as adult and not as somebody's favourite kid, especially with his origin.
I don't who these "you guys" are.
I read it when I was new to comics, and while Romita's was his penciller, I thought it was a blast. It got worse later on, but that's because editors started buttfucking it.
I have love-hate relationship with these pages. On the one hand it hits me in the heart to see Mayday like this. On the other I know Slott fucked up what was some of most interesting things about her to show how badass Morlun's fucktard brother is and it pisses me off.
I feel sad and I feel angry.
I first read JMS when he was storytimed a few weeks ago and I really liked it. Ordered his volumne because that's the kind of comic I like to read.
Slott's stuff on the other hand... it's the kind of thing you avoid if you're not that axquainted with comics
and have writing standards.
Not nearly as mad as I'm going to be if he kills off Marvel Adventure Spider-Man. Given the kind of writer he is, you KNOW he'd do it, and have Chats corpse hanging in the corner.
I liked JMS run, especially Morlun story. Overall these days I find more and more weak elements in JMS writing and he fell from my favorite writer pedestal long time ago. Looking back a lot of his stuff was weak but what was good was good.
Slott - don't really care, Verse is just pissing me off.
One of the few good things about this is the interactions between the spiders. Especially when it's not Slott writing it because he can't do humor
I get where you're coming from.
I feel the same a bit, personally, nothing for me kills a villain threat level more than knowing that his dad is around giving him order, or that he's just "one of the childrens" not even the oldest.
>Captain Stacy: (From outside Mysterio's apartment) SPIDERMAN! THIS IS THE NYPD, WE KNOW YOUR IN THERE!
>Spider-Man: No! No!
>Captain Stacy:If there's anybody in there with you, send 'em out unharmed.
Spider-Man: No! No, no, no, no!
Captain Stacy: Come out and make this a nice, clean surrender.
Spider-Man: Walked right into it! Stupid Parker luck, stupid responsibility, stupid, stupid, stupid! But I can't surrender now, never surrender, never compromise, never give up.
Captain Stacy: Alright times up, I hope you're ready, wall-crawler.
Spider-Man: Ready when you are.
I don't think we've been shown yet. But I doubt they would have gone to get 616 people if he still was in charge, at the least. Maybe he got called back to the regular time stream, or otherwise benched?
Be patient, typing all these captchas are not easy
Superior, while pretty badly-written, was at least entertaining. Which is more that I can say for the borefest that is Slott's run.
I've tried to reread Post-Big Time Amazing recently and barely could finish it because I couldn't feel anything but indifference for anything that's not Marcos Martin's issues.
Superior was a necessary improvement.
People keep mixing up Last Stand with Noir. Noir has fully black clothes.
Quite the difference between Noir and Last stand though. Noirs outfit doesn't resemble the regular Spider-Man outfit at all.
No, everyone knows it's masturbation
So everyone else in SpOck's team I can get why he'd recruit them, they're mostly pragmatic people willing to kill, with Spider-Bitch and Assassin-Spidey even agreeing to genocide. 6-Armed Spidey, though, clearly is just as moral as 616-Peter. Why would SpOck recruit him? Does he just need someone to fill in the scientific skills that he wouldn't have (Otto is not a chemist like Peter is)?
Reminds me of the 90s animated series
Fucking done. This issue was much more fun than the other one.
Spock wasn't out to recruit Spiders who would kill. In a startlingly Parker moment he was saving all he could. Well, actually, he got to their worlds just as thy were being attacked by Karn.
>another piece of fiction with all those characters
All together? I admit, I can't think of one right now.
But what are you implying? That lumping a dozen clichés all at once in the same team is less hack writing?
>several days later
>Pete is discharged from the hospital
>Pete, May and Ben are driving home
>suddenly their car is rammed by a truck into a building
>building collapses onto the car
>by the time the rubble's cleared they're all dead
>guy driving the truck was Dan Slott
>he escapes unscathed
"Character Descriptions" come the fuck on anon, haven't you ever heard of tropes? Google it. Fact is, we know the character archetypes but it's highly doubtful Slott could give them the spin to make them interesting.
I really hope Karn's lying about himself being important/not enjoying the hunt, anything, just so this fucking thing wouldn't be as predictable.
Also, ASOIAF splits them all into different houses, and basically every shonen anime has them in villain groups - the oni/bara, the nerd, the ice queen vagina with sex appeal etc, heck, that formula is even standard for many protagonist groups. And twins hating each other is fucking lame, but it's either that or fucking each other in Marvel.
At first I was annoyed that Porker was so snarky, I thought snarky animal people are overdone.
But then I realized he's been taken to a dimension where everyone is cannibal giant monkeys who think it's funny to talk about luaus, and it seems like every dimension in the multiverse is made up of cannibal monkeys. Never mind the actual spider-cannibal-monkey-draculas, I'd be pissed too.
Yes, I know he was referring to one of the barrel-rollers.
Which can also mean that his death woulb be more gruesome than most
Actually, I think 1610-Miles is getting involved in Spider-Verse. He's teaming up with Spider-Buckley from the Ultimate Cartoon.
Who also teamed up with another version of Miles already in his cartoon.
>All of this great party banter between the edgy as fuck Noir and the bright, cheery, optimistic 6-armed Spidey
>That Bogart nickname
>All these Buck Rogers machines
>Noir slowly learning that a bullet doesn't have to solve every problem
>Those feels at the end were at least one Peter had a happy ending wile the spider duo leave with a job well done
>yfw you realize all of this will never be in Slott's main book because LEL CHEAP SHOCKVALUE, NOW LET THE BLOODSHED BEGIN!
He wrote the title from issue 471 to 545, it's all collected in a series of trades.
You might want to stick to intial part of the run, where he works with John Romita Jr, after that a lot of stories are rather shitty, with turds like Sin's Past and One More Day smelling up the whole thing.
Nah, he will probably be professor or scientist in the future and live happily with his uncle and aunt.
While Jonah Jameson will be president, Mary Jane will be Rescue and Green Goblin never exist. That world is better off without Spider-man.
Fat, lumpy, out of shape asses should't be in my Spider-Man comics, especially not ones drawn by Coipel...
I was already planning a Last Stand Spiderman costume for an upcoming convention since the suit is so classy, but this whole Spiderverse event has really made me like the guy even more, even if it's not exactly the same guy.
I don't even.
What makes Earth 616 so special?
Where do I begin?
-Kang and Immortus go there all the time
-Mojo goes there all the time
-Brian Bradock, head of Britain Corps and last Captain Britain
-Bishop, Cable, Rachel Grey
-Illuminati and incursions
-Crossed over with Ultimate, Age of Apocalypse, 2099 and tons of other realities
-Living Tribunal died here
-Aparently the only world where Superior Spider-Man hapened
-Only world where Morlun has previously gone, so only world where The Other hapened
Earth 616 is such a unique special snowflake that you'd think somebody would notice
Can we have Stern back? Juggernaut issues were the best thing about BND.
I also added more room for more spider-folks.
What did I fuck up? Who did I miss?
I see on that page Spider-pool, Spider-Wolverine, Spider-Fist, Spider-Cowboy, Spider-Torch, Spider-Rorschach, and Spider-Tarzan.
>Not enjoying Spider-Betty's fat ass
>Next thing you know anon will start bitching about based Mexi-Gwen
anon confirmed for shit taste
please tell me grandpa spidey's cameo here will be his only appearance in spider-verse
>it's Uncle Ben Spidey
YOU HAVE NO EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THIS CLAIM, IT IS MORE LIKELY THAT THIS IS JMS LAST STAND OR GRIM HUNT. SO WHERE THE HELL DID BEN COME FROM?
The fact that it can't be LSS or Grim Hunt because it uses a different earth designation, and they made a point in saying that Old Man Spider's identity was secret. They wouldn't keep his identity a secret if it wasn't going to be a crucial twist.
"Oh, it was just another Peter all along" isn't that kinda twist.
So /co/ be honest, will Aikman survive to see the rest of the Spider-Family?
Has there ever been a story where Jameson became Spiderman? I mean if Aunt May can become Spiderwoman, this doesn't seem to farfetched either.
that would be retarded and a complete waste of development if they were to just create a character, his story, origin, and supporting characters only to have him killed in the end
but of course it's still gonna happen.
Hopefully some drawfag gibs us more of this spectacular spider-booty. Didn't know Betty was this stacked. Maybe the spider bite gave her that ass.
So she'd have another place to store fluid
Yeah I read that, it was corny but a good laugh.
But I mean think about it. We've had every single person connected to Parker become Spiderman in some universe or another at least once EXCEPT Jameson. He'd be the least qualified and would probably be a terrible Spiderman, but it would certainly be an interesting read, I think.
>tries to save world from dimension hopping monsters
>builds his own team from there
I know he'll likely be killed without a fight, but this is my reality
Okay, the world finds out this man is Spider-Man, which by the way, based on your prior record I'm not convinced is true... You put that out there... then what? Then the city has one less hero and this family's life is ruined. The world will not be better. Justice will not have been done. You're just burying someone so you can... your words: make money.
>Implying this isn't the best JJ
Earth 616's "specialness" is getting kind of anoying. It feels much less unique when so much stuff hapens in only it.
BTW, this idea of Morlun being a unique being in the multiverse is ontradicted by him being in What if Spider-Man the Other?
I think The Great Weaver spider-man did notice and that's why he's gathering all the spiders together. Technically he's probably going to get Peter and Spock to team-up, so he'll have 2 spider-men from 616.
Why are the morluns so damn strong that Dr. Strange or Thor or Hulk of any dimension can't just turn them into pancakes? Is everyone just magically weak to them like some pokemon bullshit?
So would any member of the spider-verse date each other? Or would it be too weird knowing that your basically going out with a version of yourself from an alternate universe?
Aw, man. I really wanted a Man-Spider on the team.
30s, his best friend was given a lobotomy for being black, his uncle ben was eaten by the Vulture. Also that's Cripple-Man, he becomes an icon for the disabled. So he's probably very sensitive about language.
Believe it or not, that is actually Ultimate Jessica Drew. Who in that universe is the female clone of Peter Parker, serves as the big sister mentor to Miles Morales, and the closest thing we got to a scarlet spider over there.
But unfortunately her awesome costume design was thrown into the garbage the moment she was made into the 3rd Black Widow, rendering her virtually unrecognizable.
So who do you think will show up on Slott's Killdar next? My bet is on this guy.
Hm... I have an inexplicable urge to see Nightwing mentor a young Peter Parker now.
>The adventures of Nightwing and Recluse
>Nightwing and Goliath!
>Nightwing and Jumper
No... what's a cool name for a specific genus of arachnid?
Wallcrawler isn't as indicative of spideryness as webslinger though, and I think Dick would teach Peter the finer points of Parkour, so he wouldn't be using his webs as much, just to stay near his mentor. Kind of a trade - in return for being trained by a student of Batman, Peter wouldn't be as skilled in webslinging. Hell, he might even find it 'awkward'.
Shut up I heard it too. Dick and Peter.
>Half naked Spider-Man with magic sword
For being a guy suddenly SCIENCE'd into a female body, FemPeter adapted remarkably quickly.
Well, he might not have that happen to him!
That's one Man-Spider. I would assume there are others. I just really wanna have some Man-Spider heroics at some point.
He killed Morlun TWICE an accomplishment the entire spider-resistance can cash in on if 616 Peter would just explain that their weak to intense radiation and the full extent of the Other based powerset, but noooo we gotta hype up that 616 is the chosen dimension because
>MUH ASIAN SPIDER-PUSSY
>MUH TOTAL ASSHAT PETER
>MUH BASED JESSICA "NOBODY" DREW
You do need to go at least this level of Other to stand a chance.
It's a wonder Kaine never tried it when he was fighting Daemos.
>Slott wanted Ult Jessica costume for Silk
>wanted Ult Jessica costume for Silk
>Ult Jessica costume for Silk
So your telling me that unimaginative pile of tar helped screw over an awesome costume that belonged to an awesome character just because he wanted his poorly written OC to wear it? And they had the gall to replace it with this 90's garbage?!
No it wasn't. It was rushed and had poor explanation of killing heroes like Spider-man (who suddenly had no spider-sense) and Hulk, as well as killing off several Deadpools for the sake of showing off how 'dangerous' Dreadpool is.
>We will never get to see how Banner became Old Man Spidey's Bro
>We will never see Old Man Spidey give Daemos a back in black tier beat-down to avenge his fallen comrades
>He won't stop half way and leave the rest of him to the royally pissed off Spider-Army so they can have their turn
>But we will get more spider-jobbing!
Thank god for a minute I was worried, but can you really blame me for jumping to this conclusion considering all of the non stop poor decision making this guy has made on his entire run?
I'm not sure Spock even knows about Spider-UK's team (though he'd triapsed around enough to know he was the only Spock, so I guess he might). I think his team is just made up of whoever he can get, and it's just luck that a high proportion of them are okay with killing.
>What if Spider-man the Other: Poison aka Peter the Other would rock one of these vampire
Could happen, seeing the Web of Life access all points in time...
So with Kaine as the current host of The Other, you could have two.
Or imagine an army of Others...
Is it weird that I hear Robin Atkin Downes voice when I read Spider-Ham's dialogue in this issue?
>What if Spider-man the Other: Poison aka Peter the Other would rock one of these vampire
He rejected The Other in that story
That's literally the difference between that What if and the main-line, he rejected it in the What if
He's not The Other there.
Literally there's going to be an alt Big Time in Spider-verse, heck, quite a few universes probably just have Peter in a different suit. Like perhaps there's one where Johnny never came back and Spidey stayed as a part of the Future Foundation. Also Mk.1 Bulletproof Spidey was killed.
Yes, I understand that. But listing them as 616 is just flat out incorrect. Otherwise, a ton of Spideys - the alt-Ben Reilly or MC2 Spider-girl, for example - could be listed as 616, because they are just universes where something happened differently.
Unfortunately, Slott's decided The Other suddenly doesn't work against the Morlun family, even though it was explicitly shown as wrecking the FUCK out of them before, even when being hosted by a Peter literally seconds from death.
Necessary to raise the stakes I suppose, but it's just another highlight of why choosing these saps as the primary villains was dumb to begin with.
Awesome, thanks man, I don't know them all and figured it was just Uncle Ben. I'll change it.
I'm just listing the ones that have been shown either in previews, covers, or the books themselves. Until they say what their personal earth numbers are, I go by the first appearance of that costume/character/whatever.
Where did Slott show that? The only one in the series so far who has hurt the Inheritors was Kaine with his little bit of the Other power. If he goes full Other, he'll destroy them.
But he DIDN'T hurt Daemos. Like, at all. It just made the donut steel go "Impressive! You have the ultimate powerful, but nothing personnel--you still cannot defeat me!" And then Kaine got his ass bit, and then Uncle Ben-Man saved the day.
Also does anyone else hear Paul Eiding's voice when Uncle Ben-Man talks?
No worries, I didn't mean any disrespect. It's a badass infographic - exactly what this event needs. Just pointing out something that bugged me lol
Also - keep an eye out on the Ultimate Spider-man from this issue. Was listed as "Earth-610", which is the wrong number (UU is 1610), so it could be an alt-UU
>Old Man Spidey tears off his jacket and goes full Kenshiro on Daemos.
As if. Spider-Man has no concept of sensitivity regarding bacon.
Look, here he is offering some to a Jew.
They actually were meant to be the same story. They just didn't get a chance to properly end TAS, and when the people in charge of Unlimited started, they just glossed over the Spider-Wars and started a new arc based in the old universe. Just look at Venom and Carnage, and the connection to Reed and MJ's knowledge of Pete's Spideyness.
There are a bunch of huge direct conflicts with TAS's universe. I mean, you bring up Venom and Carnage, but the Venom and Carnage in Unlimited are completely different from the Venom and Carnage of TAS, who were banished to a pocket dimension I might add.
90s animated marvel is Earth 92131, and Unlimited is earth 751263
Unfortunately Unlimited and 90s are considered to have the same Spider-Man. Like you can get away with going down the route that there was an entire arc we missed in between the ending of 90s Spider-Man and the beginning of Spider-Man Unlimited.
I think the idea is that the Inheritors have been absorbing an abnormal amount of Spiders lately and have become more powerful as a result, hence why they're so untouchable currently.
Yeah, but since Morlun is with this story not something native to 616, he got there with the Weaver.
Daemos even says that they know he got his ass beat there twice. Wonder what they said when they had to get him out of that hell dimension.
> You're naked save for some furpelt and fighting demons, what happened?
Oh god. Imagine if he was in. Imagine a scene where all the Spiders are getting soial with eachother because they have some downtime or something, or they are preparing for a big battle.
> Several Spiders reveal their stories t see how different they are from eachother
> Suffering-Man speaks
> Severals Spiders from friendly Universes start crying
> Even Spiders from harsh Universes are like: "Goddamn this dude has it rough"
Them, and Marvel Mangaverse Spider-Man. Each of them are written with wildly different tones. It would be a complete disaster. I would love it.
>one Spider-Man is completely silent until the end, when he simply exclaims "Mind tigers?!"
All they need to do is figure out how to steal Peters from distinct moments in time lines, and get the Peter who had the Beyonders powers for that microsecond during Secret Wars.
Or they cut to the chase and let Supaidaman kill everyone with his instakilling mech
>Or they cut to the chase and let Supaidaman kill everyone with his instakilling mech
If they actually recreate Leopardon's stock sequence in the comic, that would be fucking rad.
Leopardon, the robot that became invincible because some asshole stole it.
Generally, most people disliked the Other stuff from JMS, since they feel it doesn't mesh with Pete's science background.
To which I can say in a comic book universe where magic exists alongside science, that distinction is only superficial, and if they had kept the ambiguity of it from the first story it would've been received better, especially since Pete had to think his way out of that one.
>that would be retarded and a complete waste of development if they were to just create a character, his story, origin, and supporting characters only to have him killed in the end
>one shot stories are retarded
Some things can just be self contained, you know.
you're right on the money anon.
i didn't mind it much, but I remember my dad and I talking about it, and he thought that the mystique of the first story was all in it's ambiguous charm
Eh, like I said, the first story kept it ambigious - "maybe my powers are from the spider, maybe they're from the radiation, what matters is what I do with them" - and to be honest, radioactive spider-bite isn't that solid of a background to begin with. That's not forced, that was what later happened with full-on Other and such. Which isn't that bad IMO, since magic and science coexisting like this is for me acceptable in cape comic universes.
And even then I'd prefer it over retconned Cindy Moon.
