All roads lead to Earth.
The final showdown starts.
And it's somehow still night.
Green Lantern: Blackest Night Thread #3
Yep. Actually, that's one way this all could've turned out REALLY bad. Imagine it, a story all about emotions, and the art is lacking any expressive faces. That would be impressively shit.
wherein he's baaaack
Scarecrow's just not been trained yet
But whose destiny?
Well, Hal, can't argue with that.
Yeah this should work out well.
wherein RED GUY 3: REDDER
Johns' Last Issue had the final word. And it was the FINAL word.
Yeah that shit is nasty
And there will be light.
wherein this should have been expected.
Especially lately they've been a little shitty to each other
and I can't help but worry that the Hal/Carol/Kyle shit is going to destroy multiple relationships
I just want my babies to be bros again ;_;
I've said it before, but this is the beginning of the end. This right here.
wherein there will be light
That memory has been locked away.
Too bad the new 52 kept us from seeing Johns' original idea for it
Wait until War of the GL... but as I said, Johns was making serious moves toward how he'd end his run.
The one with the orange light shall betray them.
Just like Atrocitus said.
Yeah so Dove has just been walking around all night, being all embodiment of light and all.
I think the true cause of the Guardian's descent into madness is that all of the cool ones got killed.
To be fair, we all killed Abin Sur in our own ways.
I think it might be touched upon during Brightest Day.
Bigger, I believe. The planet itself is slightly bigger to have space for the cities like Opal, Gotham, Metropolis and Coast City, not to mention countries like Markovia or Qurac
Just peace and love and everything nice etc etc
Welp. Maybe it's just the whole "physical manifestation of peace" thing. It's got to be related to how Don couldn't be resurrected.
You were always the greatest lantern, Sinestro.
>all life in the universe originated on Earth
Okay, this is where the story is starting to lose me. Bad enough that Earth is the focus of motherfucking EVERYTHING in DC, but now it's where all life came from? Fuck off, that's just stroking it.
It's a flying refrigerator.
My snickering is justified.
>Well they're finally here
>performing for you
>if you know the words, you can join in too
>Put your hands together, if you want to clap
>As we take you through
>This Lantern Rap
wherein no we were not Sinestro
Seems fine as far as destinies go.
The origin of Ion the Willpower Whale!
I still don't understand the Predator all that much.
Nah I mean, what did he evolve from? The others are obvious.
That'll have to do then.
You're right I should have phrased that better. But it still didnt help that a lot of his OG loyal lanterns were heart broken
That being said what happened to tekik and slushh after The John's end run? I dont think I recall seeing them in Sinestro's ongoing.
wherein nights pass
It is insectoid like parallax
I like in this page it shows Parallax as a cloak around Hal's inner will. Sure, there's some fear in his heart and his head like everyone else, but he's is own person at the core, and Parallax is just a mantle he wears. I dunno, I like that meaning.
Yeah that coulda gone better.
Cover all bases next time Lex.
And get a helmet!
Now it's a party
Eh, everyone gets at least two.
I like how each message is suited to the person speaking it, and each corps. I may hate Geoff Johns for shitting all over the lore, but I'll be damned if he doesn't do good events.
LIFE has spoken, Nekron
Also, oh this is gonna be fun.
Try not to mess it up this time, alright?
You haven't missed much Aquaman.
Who can say Barry?
BUT WHAT THERE'S MORE!
Black Hand won't be an issue.
Yeah, he was the big villain in OMAC
And we're leaving the GL-related bits of this for next week.
But we have one epilogue to do.
Coming up, first this page.
But we're not going to be covering that. Just the GL stuff next week
ya I remember that power battery never being brought up for the entirety of the GL i read. I just remember talking to a friend and him saying Swamp Thing got and flew off into space in some other book
Scenes like this are why the overemphasis on the Earth Lanterns annoys the shit out of me.
The non-human Lanterns are all awesome and ought to have their own adventures published. The main GLC book should be changed to an anthology series. And everyone would read the shit out of it.
Yeah, but it seems like you've already has some liquid refreshments Guy.
And that's it.
THE END, for this week
As always I hope someone out there enjoyed this. I did. See you around.
NEXT WEEK: BRIGHTEST DAY!
Blackest Night was one of the first things I read when I was getting into comics and I still love it, it's whimsical as fuck
Your whole GL storytime run has been a blast
