I don't know why, but I really like the "Darwin is a jerk" episodes. Maybe it's because he's usually so adorable it hurts, when he beaks out of that it's refreshing. Yeah? Season one is where they spent most of the budget, but where they abused of "gumball is dumb". Season two sacrificed some animation but had better episodes, also it shows the experience of the crew growing. There's no much continuity except for season 3, so before that you can pretty much follow any order

Seriously? I only actually started watching last week, and one thing that's consistently started is Darwin was a just a pet. In a world with talking bananas and balloons, if a fish is a pet it's got to be a regular fish like their snapping turtle. He's not even properly registered as a family member as revealed in The Genius, Nicole found the skeleton of "Darwin 1" under Gumball's bed in... don't remember which episode. And then there's this shot in The Hero of Richard giving Darwin to Gumball for Christmas.
