The guy who makes that Furtaugh comic posted a movie trailer for it.
Nice music. But why would he even bother? And holy shit, he really is serious about this, isn't he?
I do like it.
Some do, but only the weirdest ones. Like guys we dress up in a Starfleet uniform and go grocery shopping. I don't think most furries do. Some just wear a tail and ears in public, but a full time fursuiter is pretty rare I'd say.
I don't see how, though. I mean just look at this "gang." You've got the main bad guy obsessed with furrys, a slacker, a guy with a mohawk AND a ponytail, a guy who looks like Justin Bieber, another who looks like Sluggo, and that sex-talk guy with anime hair. All in 50s leather jackets!
>wear a tail and ears in public
Damn that sounds autistic as fuck, but anyway, are they actually harassed on the street for shit like this? Or is it just normal laughter and weird looks that the furries blown out of proportion in their little bizarre world? Something in-between?
It's a goldmine for reaction images, I'll give it that.
I remember this one photoset I saw somewhere a few years ago where this furry dressed up in his costume and went to some school picnic. He talked about how awesome the day was and what a great time everyone had, how they like posing for pictures with him, etc., etc., how they liked his fursona, and so on. But the kids (all 3rd graders, maybe), every single one of them looked uncomfortable, apprehensive, and even a little creeped out. Dude was oblivious to it, though. Kind of sad, really. I don't think he was a child molester or perv or anything, he just honestly thought people loved his furry stuff, when really, they kinda maybe didn't.
The people thought he was some kind of mascot doing a publicity stunt.
The guy is mentally sick.
A such amazing european artstyle wasted on furryshit.
> tfw I made that comment a few months ago
it's like seeing your OC reposted, it's like you've made a difference for once in your pathetic loser life :3
The comic is surprisingly good in spite of that, though. It's some kind of weird police procedural with conspiracy shit and furries.
You know, he's got a point. In a place where most of the furries seen are cowering simps who care about emotion more than anything, I could see a furry girl giving in to a human guy willing to just give her a hot dicking.
But anon, what of the gals are into femdom and the only reason they date furries is to control every single aspect of their lifes? Hell, they could be forcing the guys to fuck them with dildos while having their dicks caged-up.
Entirely possible, but even then the worst they'd do is say no to a guy who wanted to fuck their brains out. Plus, from what we've seen of the furries in the comic, the women don't seem like they're very into femdom. That might be wrong, I have no idea, but from what I see of them most of them seem like they'd be totally fine with getting a nice fuck from a non-furry stranger once in a while.
I ain't even furry and Utopia is relevant to my interests. Its well written, and the art is solid.
The one thing that really clicked with me was the fact that it's unapologetically different. There's too many webcomics out there that just try to ride on the coattails of other successful comics, e.g. video game comics that repeat the same jokes over and over.
But, a comic about furries of all things, and it's actually really good? I'm sold!
If only ;_;
Oh, yeah. For a while I was hoping he WASN'T really a furry. Just brought into the cult and used by them to have an insider in the police. They themselves - they're something different.
That's really what's enjoyable about all of this, isn't it? Making up a completely different story in the background? Or not? The Furtaugh stuff is pretty good. I enjoy Law & Order: Special Yiffing Unit.
That's exactly what they are in the comic.
The furries in the comic are not the same as real life furfags. They're a marginalised religious group, not just a bunch of creepy fetishists.
Utopia is bizarre in a good way to me. The Furtaugh parts are just fantastic, while the furry-centric comics are oddly charming, like they're pro-furry propaganda being showcased by a neutral party.
not just a religious group, mind. There's some seriously shady stuff going on.
>the whole thing started about 60 years ago, but no one remembers anything about the founding
>a possible caste system based on your fursuit species
>the council withholding important information from Furtagh
>Law & Order: Special Yiffing Unit.
my sides are M.I.A.
I think it means their founding is (quoting here), "lost to living memory." In other words, yeah, they know how they were founded, but no one who was there as a first-hand witness is still living.
I agree, Furtaugh is the best character. The police force hate him because he's a furry and the furries hate him because he doesn't wear his fursuit on duty. The story makes good use of having Furtaugh as the underdog too.
The caste system shit is creepy, as as is the Council in general. Not to mention the apparent brainwashing. I don't know if that one arc where we watched the guy in the dog suit go looking for a job was supposed to come across as enlightening and uplifting regarding their mind-set, but to me it read like a horror story featuring a character who doesn't realize what kind of situation he's in. It comes across to me like this guy and, presumably, others are only a small push away from turning Furry Town into Jonestown.
From that same story there's also the whole thing about how Furtown is so insular that they'll provide for the furries that live there, kind of like some kind of charity or welfare, but they still want all of their furries to go out and get real jobs. It made a big deal about how furries go out of their way to seem hire-able for the good of all furries.
It's very, very strange.
This would have been good if it was just a satire on the entire subject of "fursectution" and released six years ago but it's too late so the comic's outdated and it's probably going to become condescending as fuck
It doesn't make any sense. Almost all of their problems would disappear if they dropped the masks. This is what they look like to others.
This comic is hard to stop reading, I'll give it that. There's this looming dark feeling about it thoug, like the story is hiding a bunch of crazy Shit underneath the obvious retardation. It's obvious the dude is only using furries as a means of attracting viewers, and doesn't believe in this Shit, especially if you take note of the 4chan quote.
I wish the whole comic had unchanging facemasks. It kicks up the crazy and the creepy factor, but it's also fucking hilarious.
I get why the artist/author has them emote, treating it as a translation convention, but still.
>The comic is an allegorical approach for discussing intolerance using furries as a metaphor.
>Unlike real world, actual furries, the furries in the comic are not anthropomorphic, "sparkledogs," or magical animal people.
>In the world of DoU, furries wear a fursuit as an outward sign of their faith.
This has got to be some next-level satire.
This ain't even furry, when was the last time you saw a furry comic that focused on fursuiters?
I reckon it's a parody on SJWs[/spoiler[
I think Furtaugh is starting to fall away from the furry mindset.
He already admitted he doesn't even like putting the suit on anymore.
He's just about justice for the victims, not simply defending the furry community.
Sometimes you got to make 'em laugh before you can make 'em feel.
These fucking reaction images. Saving every single one
whoever did this forget to do the eyes correctly.
That's just emotional build up for the 3rd act.
He will acknowledge who he truly is and now that he has learned to accept himself he will finally get back in the fursuit and then the movie's action climax kicks in.
DoU thread? About fucking time
mchan is like reddit with cp, it's fucking retarded
>The story makes good use of having Furtaugh as the underdog
What the fuck is this comic about? It look like a bucket of cringe? Is the guy writing this mentally ill?
>What the fuck is this comic about?
In the Dreaming of Utopia comic universe, the plot is driven by three different but equally important character groups. The descendents of PTSD'ed WWI vets who founded a quasi-pagan religion, the white gang-bangers who beat and steal from them, and the black detective who breaks all the rules for the religion that has ostracized him. These are their stories.
See, I've wondered about this. In the very beginning, it's stated that Barky is going to meet his new girlfriend. We know nothing about her. We do know that there has never been a mixed coupling in the comic, hence the castes. We know that the leader of the Skullz learns about easy targets from some source that he won't reveal. The Council is clearly hiding shit and seem to be invested in how murder helps their PR.
I think Barky decided to date outside of his species. The Council found out and leaked his routine to the Skullz. They won't open files to Furtaugh, because he may connect the murders back to the Council being involved in some of them.
Read the first few chapters. It's short. If you don't like it, then move on. If you do like it, you'll be sucked in. It's bizarrely engaging. I started reading to laugh and cringe. I've stayed for surprisingly good drama.
Then there's the Shepherd who kills furries in the subway. Again, the first one we see is going to meet his girlfriend. Again, we learn nothing about who she is, before or after. The Council can't force people to stick to the castes. It would feel out of place with their religion. But they can pull strings in the background.
I'm going to be a huge fucking faget here, but why was (and to an extent is) 4chan so hateful of furries but is totally okay with monstergirls? The latter is more bestial and deviant than the former.
You had to be there. Seriously, you did. Furries in 2005-2006 were exactly like MLP fuckwads at their height. They were absolutely insufferable. Monster girl fans just wanted to jerk off.
Oh shit, you just might be onto something...
I still can't decide if this comic is pro-furry or if it's a well-crafted abuse box. As morally upstanding and smug about it as they are, nothing good ever really happens to the furries in the comic.
There were two Furries before.. the otherkins who thought of themselves as the animals... and the ones who saw it simply as a fetish. the problem is when the intermingling and the circlejerking started and it became impossible t seperate one from the other.
I feel like I made this comment. I do think this comic could really be anything. Although I am expecting a generally serious allegory with furies as the focused group.
Still my secret wish is something happening with those blueprints.
It could be anything.
I'm eagerly waiting how this comic develops. No shit. This guy looks like he genuinely gives a shit about telling a story.
There's no such thing as monstergirl conventions with people dressing up like monstergirls and having monstergirl sex parties then complaining on the internet about monstergirl persecution.
It's a webcomic... about actual furries... this actually sounds pretty interesting...
There's just something about it. It's not a typical webcomic. There's like this serious dark vibe going on. It's like it wants to be Watchmen or V for Vendetta or Dark Knight Returns or something. It could veer off into that or just go the other way and get 100% goofy. The not knowing is what gets me.
This makes me wonder if it's possible to accidentally be a good writer.
As in, you try to portray an image that most people would find appalling and stupid, but you fail at it and wind up making something neat.
I don't mean someone intentionally trying to make something bad, I mean someone who is trying to portray something like say genocide in a positive light, but they fuck it up and manage to make some sort of deep message about world peace or something without even realizing it.
Well, he wasn't trying to make garbage, but he tried to make a book that wasn't very serious and would be a parody of knight stories, a character that was stupid and ridiculous and showed what he thought of people who read knight stories (which is kind of the same attitude most people have about people who read knight stories now).
In the end, it became so popular that for some, Don Quixote is now seen as a symbol of liberty, and to be fair, Cervantes ended up making a pretty decent satire of the society of its time.
No, because what he is describign is essentially trying to see which of the two places it hangs itself.
Beloved? Not quite, as it was specifically written to make fun of the wealthy people of the old aristocracy for trying to stick to a world that had already abandoned (and in fact, every character within said book is a gold mine of references to hundreds of other works, historical events, and political positions in Spain and in the European Canon). How central was this to the final product is up to debate (mostly because the seriousness of the criticism varies a lot), but the second book providing a reflection of all these and more, particularly when Don Quixote finally falls and has to put away his armour, supporting the idea that this was at least a planned thing and a central reason for many of the things within the books.
Saw a kid with wolf ears and a tail clipped onto his jeans, he was wagging it with his hand when he was happy. His family was with him. I've never seen anyone look so embarrassed in my life. His father looked so fucking disappointed.
Alright, who is Furtaugh, and why am I laughing so hard at this trailer?
No dad who works and supports their child deserves a terrible one.
I am of course being melodramatic and just wanted an excuse to post this picture
Guys. He quoted us more than once. And some rather obscure quotes. He may be in this thread right now!
it's always weird the first time an author or content creator shows up, like the whole thread gets awkward. After a week he'll be talking to us and actively searching for our input.
Think about how many authors immediately describe their own work as an allegory. How many trailers have used that word? It's this kind of head-up-ass behavior that makes me doubt that this is some kind of sneaky, mind-blowing satire.
And even if it was, the implications that come across are offensive. There's satire about real groups of people having been subject to persecution, and there's groups of people in fiction subject to the same fate, allowing the audience to make a connection. And THEN, there's a real group that we know exists but doesn't act in this capacity and have never been treated in this way. Right from the get go it's creating a problem for the sake of creating a problem to give the story some kind of tension in the dumbest way possible.
Let me condense all of this into something much shorter for you guys - self-pitying, hamfisted, knot-twisted, third rate, second to none, first class bullshit. Anything else is advertisement. He already quotes "anon from 4chan" in his trailers, so if you rocket scientists know any better you won't keep making threads about this.
But why? Because he's using furries instead of black people or jews or, I don't know, robots or mutants? Going by your bit on 'groups of people in fiction subject to the same fate' comment? Why are other fictional things okay, but alternate-reality furries are off limits? Nobody gets why you're so mad about this.
>He already quotes "anon from 4chan" in his trailers
At least he knows what we're about then, unlike some other webcomic artists that completely and publicly divorce us just because 4chan = /b/ or some shit.
Just what do you base this on, and please source your douchbaggery claim. Other than making a comic with a group you don't like, how's the guy being a douche, exactly? Would you rather he used blacks or jews instead? Why are aliens okay for an allegory but furries aren't? Especially non-furry furries like these? Please enlighten us, Anon, regarding the source of your butthurt.
Oh yeah, but the guy who will inevitably spam these threads for weeks and weeks on end who "just wants to talk about it", you'll have time for him, right? But as soon as someone posts an opinion about how the shoddy material comes across, it's "whoa, you took three whole minutes to make a post, you sure are obsessed get a life bro"
At least I'm not some wishy-washy guy like you who can't commit to anything.
>At least I'm not some wishy-washy guy like you who can't commit to anything
>All this projecting
>based on an insult
>At least I'm not some wishy-washy guy like you who can't commit to anything.
>Posted on 4chan
Well seriously, the person replying to me hasn't seemed to make any other posts relating to the actual topic. And yet he's still in the thread himself. He doesn't want to have an opinion either way because he's a pussy.
Good advice. I don't think he's a cunt tho. I'm thinking he's either a furry, or else he doesn't like the language in a comic meant for mature readers because it hits too close to home for him.
Oh yes, theybstalk the shadows and alleys. Most furry attacks are so hard to communicate they're called urban animal attacks.
That senator mauled by a bear in his drive? A big bearfur going by Maple Paw.
He's entirely upfront about the furries in the world of the comic being completely different and unrelated to real furries.
Making up a problem is kinda what you do when you're writing fiction.
Sounds retarded, and I don't feel like digging into stupid shit right now.
Good to know SA is still full of faggots though.
Bro, knees are the best, don't even talk shit about them or I'll get you for bonesecution.
He was talking about how artist's are prone to undersell themselves and how he once paid a a guy with a $5 Chili's giftcard to help him work on a project for a contest that could have potentially won him $500.
People got pissed at him for this anecdote despite the lack of context on how much work the guy actually put in, or how Kaz intended to split the winnings if they had won.
The guy was willing to work/collaborate for free, Kaz 'paid' him with a cheap gift card instead. He was using it as an example of how artists under-value their work so much, but SA lost their shit and made him out as a slave master lashing his charges with the whip.
you're tempting fate with such words.
There was also an incident in the webcomic creators thread where a guy was asking about his character design because readers had complained about being unable to distinguish characters or something.
Kaz offered his opinion based on the example images provided, but then quickly came to realize that the guy was just looking for people to circlejerk with about how the readers are wrong.
>Furries today are chill as fuck. Mos are terribly self aware.
It's weird, every furry I've seen/interacted with has been pretty cool and fully aware of their power level, in a relatively non-obnoxious way. Except on 4chan. Maybe I keep getting rused, but it gets pretty autistic (from both sides) when furries get brought up here.
4chan is an exhaust pipe for bottled up intellect and idiocy alike. Everything always gets a bit faggy around here.
Most people on 4chan don't actually understand what the hate is about, they're just blindly following what they've been told to follow. When you have someone who's mindlessly throwing a fit because he thinks he's supposed to be throwing a fit with no real idea why, then it becomes an unreasonable spectacle pretty fucking quickly. It used to be you couldn't even talk about, say, Crash Bandicoot on /v/ without some retard screaming and whining and having a tantrum.
Can't say I'd blame him for avoiding places like SA or 4chan after stupid shit like that.
Though in all honesty, he probably shouldn't have gone to either if he didn't want to deal with retards.
That makes sense.
In the book, the furry religion is completely benign. They don't have a system for hostility or punishment. Although that's not saying they hug things to death, it is saying that any sort of hostility or violence against other furries would never be tolerated.
So the council arranges violence against other furries under the ostracism of hate crimes.
I agree. He's waaaay more self-aware than a lot of webcomic people. He added all that SA stuff because they were razzing his comic. Or maybe he thinks they're funny and it's a clever shout out..? Like everything else with this comic, it's hard to know what's what.
slimegirls are still monstergirls right? Or do you distinguish now? I heard someone say Dullahans weren't monstergirls anymroe and were their own thing but I haven't been to /d/ in a while.
Think I saw that in an autism thread. That or a derail dump. Basically, /v/ hates anything that's not Samus, Nintendo princesses, Bayonetta, fighting game grills, and Morrigan. There's generally a lot of "weeb shit" fighting too, so Japanese characters that look "anime-esque" get a Penn Jillette reaction image.
slimegirls get there own thread, but also appear seldom on monstergirl threads. its like a square rectangle thing.we also have monstergirls threads, hell even sub monstergirl threads like futa/bbw monstergirls (last one was pretty fuckin nice)
I dont think I know anything about Dullahans though
I'm /d/isgusting too, those threads are some of my favorites. It's just pathetic seeing /v/ decide that since slime/goo is monstergirl, and centaurs are also monstergirls, anything monstergirl is furry. We were a step away from declaring robot girls furry/fur shit.
Shitposters on /v/ really will find a way to twist everything so they can claim it's furry shit, and the legitimate retards will eat it right up.
The best thing to do is to never care and keep posting while they cry.
I think he just used furries as a metaphor so that it would stop people from getting too involved, really. If you write a story about persecution and morality with a fictional group then it's really easy for people who insist on missing the forest for the trees to project meanings that aren't there (or at least weren't intended by the author) onto things and if you use historical groups then that's another, similar can of worms. However, if you use furries then that ties up a lot of lose ends at once - most people don't really give a shit one way or the other about furries so they don't get emotionally invested or form positive opinions quickly just because of the nature of the characters (well not to excess; it's really more like the author is intentionally hamstringing the emotional investment in his comic in deference to the writing), it's much more difficult to project onto them because they have an extant stigma and because furries don't really even exist outside of the internet (yes, I know there are conventions and sexual deviants and whatnot; you know what I mean) there aren't really any tracks that need to be followed there.
I think that the author is a smart cookie.
Wait centaurs aren't monstergirls either?
I don't go to /d/ because I'm a sizefag and /d/ has the worst size threads. I think it's because it's a pretty diverse fetish but it's so starved for content it can't facilitate multiple threads, so you get everyone shoved together
haha, I wouldn't imagine robot girls being a problem. /v/ shits over everything though, so what else is new.
Did you ever see that Vivian thread on /d/? Now that was pretty nice.
Also, centaurs are unf tier
centaurs are another subclass that can often have their own threads.
I don't know much about that size, but I feel you on that one. personally, I'm a bbw guy for the most part, but the chub and preg threads have it alright with me too.
Squid/octgirls are pretty nice too
I gotta agree, /d/'s size threads suck. For whatever reason, there's a bunch of pretentious faggots who throw a hissy fit when other people "ruin" their thread with images they don't personally like.
Surprisingly, the best size threads I've seen are on
/mlp/.Regular discussion, decently civil (usually), regular drawfriends. They like vore a lot though.
>tfw you like above average sized preg, but not hyper stuff, and nobody draws any middleground between normal and hyper
Also size gets pretty damn bad on /d/. Shitposting about growth versus shrink, "murderfags" getting mad at gentle lovers, and honestly /d/ has pretty shit taste since they like that several miles tall destroying continents with their feet giga size bullshit. It's a super varied and spread out fetish and we all have to bunk together since there's not enough content for several threads.
>several miles tall destroying continents with their feet giga size bullshit
I don't know how people like this. It's like stepping on molecules, there's nothing even exciting or arousing about it, it's just silly, like planet-sized giants. They get really uptight and bitchy if you mention this though.
Sizefags are just the biggest fucking babies. I mean when your fetish is usually a manifestation of mommy issues and being a beta pushover I guess it makes sense but it's just nothing but bitching, blaming and drama.
>someone posts vore, gentlefags get mad at murderfags
>someone posts shrink, growthfags start antagonizing shrink lovers
>someone posts mini gts/amazon, some bitches the size difference is too small to count
>someone posts the latest Karbo picture, some autist gets upset about his stupid comic on Lulu which wasn't even mentioned and he brought it up himself
It's the fucking worst.
/d/ greatly suffers from topic fatigue, if you mention a problem in size general they just go yeah but we're too far gone to do anything about it and just continue to fester. Ironically /co/ has some of the best damn size threads I've seen.
>/d/ greatly suffers from topic fatigue
And the hilarious thing is the size fags are forced to break up into specialized threads for "gentle giantesses only, no murderfags allowed," and it either stagnates with little content or someone posts say, a male giant and everyone flips out and spams the thread.
Furries have a bad reputation anyway, and the author is playing to that. I think that's why he chose furries in the first place, and you can believe how people in the comic are creeped out or hostile to them, regardless of the furries' intentions.
bbw/chub threads used to be pretty bad with shitposters complaining the size of picA wasn't big/small enough. They've calmed down pretty recently though.
I've contemplated if this is physically possible. To shrink this size you'd literally need to shrink molecules down to ~10^-21 their original size. The energy required to do that must be extrordinary
/d/ has a pretty good sense of humor.
It's pretty much the most autistic place on /d/. I just wish I could enjoy the fetish but escape the retards. /co/ has pretty good discussion about it but little content.
Someone once asked why there's little good giantess art compared to the rest of most fetishes. The answer was that art takes hard work and requires you to challenge yourself, and most giantessfags are the polar opposite of that. Hell shrink is all about turning absolutely ordinary everyday tasks and objects into insurmountable obstacles a giant lady who loves you like a pet has to help you with.
>We're at least higher on Kaz's list then SA is, after that whole Chili's incident.
I don't really mind SA. There are some people there with a predisposition to believe misinformation, but the same can be said for anywhere.
Their webcomic creator thread was kind of a circlejerk though. It took me like six months to realize I was better known and more well-regarded than every one of its regulars and should probably move on.
Fuck you Kaz, you said you were actually working!
>what's your opinion here?
I haven't read it.
I usually love this sort of stuff, though. Like, not even in an ironic way. Weird shit that is willing to be completely legit about its weirdness has a certain... purity, to it? I'm glad it exists. I want to read it sometime.
>Fuck you Kaz, you said you were actually working!
I was! For a while! Now I am checking the internet for activity before I go to bed.
I thought the same thing while I was reading it, but I remembered that this shit happens in real life too.
But yeah, the author makes the story seems really one-sided, when in reality the cult aspect seems really weird too. I hope he's aware of this and tries to address it later in the comic.
Well, if you ever lose trail and end up writting ramblings for tumblr again i hope i can read proper reviews about content you enjoy some time. I also wanted to ask you if you even have time for series, if you watched BoJack Horseman, seeing as depression is your thing.
No you love bondage
I'm so sick of looking up femdom porn it's all this beta cuck, dick cage bullshit.
I just want to see some dominant chicks grabbing a dude by the shirt collar and forcing him to have sex and maybe some facesitting.
Get your fucking peanut butter out of my goddamned chocolate sir!
That picture says absolutely nothing about furries. Divorced from the story, it's just a reaction image about some asshole taking over a place.
You're a little defensive there though, anon.
1:snouts. Anything with a non-human face tends to get instantly placed into the dangerously furry category and monster girls hardly ever have faces that fall outside of human-like.
2: They are not associated with autistic crazies like fursuiters that make sane people want to set themselves on fire for sharing the same planet with.
3:They are not based on real creatures so they don't have the association with zoophillia that furries do.
What he is getting at is that due to the time frame, internet isn't nearly as wide spread as it is today. Hence why hardly anyone even knows about this group and looks at them like kooks.
Kazerad, I'm surprised you haven't been ripped to pieces by Tumblr for being on the "wrong" side of the whole GamerGate thing. It seems like doing anything but supporting Zoe Quinn 100% is a death sentence.
JonTron is kind of old news now. He apologized publicly on the Co-Optional podcast, as he should have. There's nothing wrong with calling PS4 retarded, but calling someone retarded in their face (outside 4chan) is just rude.
I don't know if he got particular flak for that. Gamers are the majority in this mess.
Nah, it was something about how he criticized Tim Schafer for praising Sarkeesian/Feminist Frequency on Twitter, and everyone started rallying against him.
And then Gamergate happened just a few days after.
I don't hate Oglaf, but I found that funny: /co/'s favourite webcomics are one about a useless, self-hating fat weeb, another one that is porn and very often gay porn and a serious drama about fursecution.
Paints a pretty accurate picture if you ask me.
I agree. I'm still amazed of every little background trivia, tv references and lore he throws inbetween panels. Furryshit or not, this guy is really putting some hard work on this comic.
>Tfw I think Whomp is dull, Oglaf uninterests me and DoU is just fucking retarded.
>Webcomic Creator Threads
I've learned to start avoiding the hell out of those now. They seem like a good idea when you start off but overtime people start getting too comfortable with presenting ideas instead of actual products, they can keep saying they'll get it done without working on it. Generally they always turn into circlejerks as well, people won't give hard criticism in them.
I've learned only one thing from those threads
Only come in if you have someone that is done or truly in progress. Don't spend too much time in them, more time talking about your project is less time working on it. If you get involved with the group then find maybe 3 people who seem like they can help you or worth keeping around then leave.
I totally want to do the web miniseries for this.
It even lends itself to the low budget, with enough fursuits, you can have two or 3 actors handle all the furry scenes, do dub overs like Power Rangers and have a Jacues style nature documentary narration for all the cool little "deepest lore" bits.
I totally want to be the DoU Alan Burnett, thoughts on how?
According to the LORE, the hardest part of the costume to find would be the heads and feet. The furry suits in the comic are more like overalls, not the fake fur shag carpet of a real furry's suit. Be cheap to make them.
But he's perfect. Plus I really liked the idea of having all the furry character played by famous actors, the human characters by unknowns, and Furtaugh, since he is a furry, just unmasked, played by someone famous as well.
Which reminds me that I hope we see what converting to furryism later in life is like, or even possible. Furtaugh represents someone lapsed in religion, so having the reverse seems inevitable.
The only issue is that Furtown is so separate from the world, does the Council even let people convert?
Based on their belief model as it is currently established they're clearly not a missionary religion but I think they would also allow converts, but only if they believed the convert had true conviction. So it's possible but they'd probably have to be a better furry than most furries born into the religion to even be considered by the council.
Kinda like how when you see a white guy in a black gang you know that he's probably the craziest motherfucker there.
I imagine they're like Jews. I fucking know, but I'm serious, hear me out. Jews don't proselytize or seek converts. If you wanted to convert it's allowed, but there's an extensive study process. You need to go through a lot of religious education, prove you know it, and then commit to about a year or so of following all the practices and teachings with a mentor in order to both prove you are devout and, possibly more important, that it's truly something you want to do. I'm sure most people who aren't born into it couldn't take wearing the fursuit all day, everyday, so a lengthy trial period would be a must.
...This is acceptable, except for the dick cage part
Back in the early days of the internet, there was very little crossover between various subcultures so there would be a hugbox effect.
You know how tumblr is?
Tumblr still has contact with the rest of the Internet, imagine if it didn't, when the furry's first left their hugboxes they were worse.
They've gotten a lot better now but almost all of the hate is either leftover from that time or people that don't know why they're hated copying it
>I just want to see some dominant chicks grabbing a dude by the shirt collar and forcing him to have sex and maybe some facesitting.
You have best taste
>/d/'s size threads suck
That's what /tg/ is for.
Okay guys, here's the truth:
Author is an oldschool goon who started this a joke, but due to Poe's law, got taken seriously. He was offered money by furfags, and he kept doing it, laughing at them all the way. This is not an insane furfag, this is a god-tier troll and a pretty damn good writer
Poe's Law. Nobody here has any idea if something is satire because we've all stared gibbering insanity right in face and been horrified to realize they were dead fucking serious. I no longer trust anything to be a joke anymore.
I think this one is the most hilarious page.
I'm imagining an alternate DC movieverse where Bane is a leader of a furry terrorist group who want to stage the largest furcon in recorded history in Gotham City.
> Gotham is yours! Yiff where you please, none shall interfere!
Okay here we go:
A city wide yiff pile, or get nuked?
Yes, because every single furry has a perfect resume.
Fuck you OP. I had forgotten this insane shit existed. Now I'm going to lose like an hour catching up. I can't help it.
Fuck what is wrong with me, what is wrong with humanity.
I feel like the author used to be a furry and realized how dumb it was and thought about how furryism would go down in real life.
I had a one night stand with Donald Rumsfeld, I can confirm this.
I wouldn't totally agree. I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't find expansion/wg and macro mutually exclusive like it seems most people do.
I'm okay with macro/light-muscle though
depends how indepth you're going to go. If anything it'd probably be a spectrum and the further apart 2 things are the bigger the aversion to combining them.
And then there's all that weird shit that isn't central to the fetish and aren't fetishes in their own right but are proverbial cherries on top of others.
hm, well I know there are muscle girls, weight gain, and strongfat, so there are combinations of those. I suppose for one side of the spectrum there should be the opposite, such as shrinking fetishes to counteract the giantesses, which the aforementioned two can't be combined being dead opposites. Perhaps three dimensions, with one dimension being height, one being fat/weight content, and one being muscle. I think BE and big butt would be under a different chart, since they more emphasize a particular body part, just like those massive vagina threads
it's just so utterly bizarre and fascinating. and well written too; there doesn't seem to be an end in sight to the comic, but the prose is so snappy that you can't help but read on
I can't be the only one that keeps seeing the mouths he draws as mustaches.
>And then there's all that weird shit that isn't central to the fetish and aren't fetishes in their own right but are proverbial cherries on top of others.
Isn't that exactly what furry itself is? (not in the comic's sense)
It's a hold over from the old days. Furries used to be obnoxious as shit, now they're very rarely brought up,seen or heard. They were the "bronies" of the early internet only worse.
