Bitchy feminist Power Girl > kawaii uguu no personality Peej
I think Power Girl is pretty cool, and Amanda Connor's take has still been my favorite—even if she spread the "feminist" scenes where Peeg talks down catcalling short guys a little thick. She turned Power Girl into this great symbol of independence, though. She became a woman living alone in her apartment and juggling an insanely hectic schedule, and I think I saw something like my own college life in that. It honestly inspired me to work hard and make it on my own in a place where I was alone and with no real home. And Karen's doing that, too. She has no family or home in the entire world and she still lives fully and proudly. I think she's a great role model for any young woman thrust into the big world.
>tfw nobody else think's Peegee's best feature is her adorable bob haircut
With less japanese boots, this would be the best Power Girl redesign I've seen.
OP here, a few new ones here I've saved, thanks guys.
I mean, I LIKE all bob cuts, but it's gotta be neater before I can beat 'er
'er being my dick, which doesn't make sense but it rhymed so I went with it
I too love Power Girl. Shame the second half of Vol. 2 sucked.
I was dissapointed when she didn't take a dick though.
Just dumping what I have left in alphabetical order now.
Though most of these came directly from the comics, if it has source it's in the filename.
>yfw she's Dick bitch
I too fucking love Power Girl! I just want anther good ongoing with her having goofy adventures. Is that too much to ask? I bet if dc asked Gray, Palmiotti, and Connor would be up for more PGA awesomeness
They're bigger than his head. And I bet he never gets any
Life as a midget must be suffering. You can't find a girl that takes you seriously, and even the whores would laugh at you
I know you're just trying to stir up shit but yes one good run is more important than decades of mediocre filler in establishing characterization in comics especially for characters who have only appeared in mediocre filler previously.
Was Powergirl meant to replace Supergirl when she was first created? Does Supergirl exist in the same continuity as Powergirl? Does the nu52 have multiple worlds?
You have shit taste.
You'd probably have to red sun 'em first.
Nu52 pretty much throws that out the window. Is there ANYTHING good about Nu Peej?
So how do you guys feel about the new Power Girl. I don't think she meets the physical requirements for the job.
Her tits look pretty huge for wearing a jacket.
Power Girl was killed by Flashpoint.
New character that helped Power Girl get back to Earth 2
>Power Girl was killed by Flashpoint.
Nope, but then the Power Girl everyone creams over died after Palmotti and Grey stopped writing her.
Basically, it went like this:
They created Superman in 1938 along with a bunch of characters, but in 1940 most of them faded out of popularity remaining only Superman and Batman.
In 1951 they started to recreate some of those characters and with the success that came from it, they remade Superman and Batman to fit the new versions of these characters. Supergirl is created in 1958.
In 1961 they established that the first versions those characters, along with the first versions of Superman and Batman, existed in another universe that they called Earth-2 for some reason. Since the modern Superman had Supergirl, the original Superman gained Power Girl, who was that universe Superman's cousin.
The same still applies even after the reboot.
Come on. Mr. Terrific might act like a tool in Futures End but he is a good date for Power Girl. The problem is that they established that she was just using him while he was still hung-up about the loss of his deceased wife and son. Otherwise i think they can make a cute couple.
They kinda did that in Elseworlds.
The Palmiotti/Conner PG is gonna be returning in Harley Quinn 11-13. Basically she has amnesia and Quinn convinces her that they're a crime fighting duo.
Also, Palmiotti and Conner told me at Boston Comic Con that they hope to bring back Atlee at some point. But basically for now she's not grim dark enough for the current nu52.
fuck, forgot pic.
>"i can have a boob window, too!", said the B-cup.
I like her because she's aggressive and she takes no bullshit from anyone. She's also super lonely because she's cut off from her own universe and I can relate tothat sense of loneliness sometimes. She's a more assertive version of Supergirl, more mature. I dig that.
Also the tits don't hurt either.
To be fair, Butcha-U's noses are super fucked up looking.
That ain't Butcha-U. Pretty fap worthy though.
>tfw even japs know PG is best
Conner quit the book because she works too slow and couldn't handle the stress of a monthly deadline. Palmiotti quit because Conner, his wife, quit. Gray quit because they usually work together.
>Get your tits off my leg before I crush your head between mine
Does Laur still do stuff for /co/? I never see her around here anymore.
Karen's first disguise was a little too obvious.
Why does Amanda Connor's style fit her so well? I honestly find it hard to look at other artists rendition of her. Her style is just perfect for this character.
Even though Conner suffers from sameface, she's amazing at facial expressions and captures all the nuances of emotion. She's also great at capturing motion and sense of physical impact. Moreover she's pro at sequential art and doesn't make it difficult for the viewer to interpret panel layout.
Add sex appeal to all that, and you have all the right ingredients for a Power Girl comic.
I don't like it, but that's just cause I always wanted her to have snu-snu with Doctor Mid-Nite.
I don't really like her paired up with anyone.
Personally, with the lack of Atlee, I ship PG/WW.
Buy this >>64580697
It collects pretty much all you really need for the Conner/Graymiotti run. There's also the Terra mini. Pic related.
It's nice and efficient in collecting all the Palmioti/Conner stuff, but the paper quality is shit. I'm afraid to touch it lest it fall apart. I just wish I had bought the old trades when they were still available.
>I would imagine that would pull on her crotch way before she even got her head through the hole.
>No slice of life PG/EMH Wasp comic
WHY IS LIFE SO CRUEL?
Man, I had a Power Girl trade on my Amazon wishlist then ended up getting bought. I thought maybe it was a /co/mrade from those wishlist threads during Christmas.
Turned out my mom was the one who bought it.
>tfw qt girl always rings me up when I pick up Chaos
Do you think she thinks I'm a pervert?
I just like Tim Seeley I swear!
I used to wish that Frank Cho would come to DC and start drawing Power Girl. But then I learned how much he hates Superman. That was not a good day for science.
Yeah I agree. Her bosom is tightly packed in her suit. You'd have a hard time slipping a finger in that cleavage. Plus her boobs are bouncy so rubble would just bounce right off.
OP, what would you do if you and her were on a tour of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory and she wanted to try the gum? Would you try to stop her, or just let her do what she wants because Power Girl don't take shit from nobody?
Don't get your hopes up. Amanda Conner isn't drawing the interior of that issue. She's always been the cover artist. She's co-writing the book with Palmiotti though.
I generally have a paranoia that cashiers talk shit about me after I leave, regardless of what I buy. In my mind cashiers are so frustrated and bored that they look to anyone for amusement.
Ah, damn, I thought you meant she was doing the interiors for those issues. Oh well, at least the covers will be smexy and wonderful.
I wish she had the time and motivation to go back to the character in a consistent way, besides con sketches and the odd cover. She loves the character and would love to, but of course DC doesn't want to accommodate her and what the fans want. For 12 issues of PG's series, I remember it took almost 15 months.
>but of course DC doesn't want to accommodate her and what the fans want.
I don't think that's actually the case. I'm not sure what discussions go on with DC and Conner, but I do know that Conner quit the book because she couldn't handle the monthly schedule. Too much stress because she works too slowly. Which is why she only does covers now.
>delicious brown Power Girl
I like where this is going. I just hope she's not another (fe)male power fantasy.
But does she have the bust?!? Also I don't really read any Nu stuff, what happened to white Peej?
So she DIDN'T die on the way back to her home planet?
Thankfully not. But she seems to be lusting after Obama Superman lately. Once you go black...
God they're just determined to pair her up with someone. Someone black apparently. Is Obama man also from Earth2? Should I be looking into any of this shit or is all contrived crap?
It's all building up to Grant Morrison's Multiveristy Event. There's a lot of Hype around it lately. Has my interest. Pretty Sure Obama Man is from another Earth and he's trying to save Earth 2 from evil Superman. Haven't been keeping up with those details.
I'm not sure about the new girl, but I think the old Peeg crossed the line a few times. It's also kinda counter-feminist (and overpowered) to have her as CEO/Prez of a company with her kryptonian superpowers.
I'm tired of these "strong female characters" just getting in the same punching contests as their male counterparts. I'd much rather see a PG who doesn't have to get in physical conflicts to solve problems, and just enjoys being a girl without having to prove anything.
I'd just rather her not be paired up with anyone. Just being Karen Starr and having adventures. With Terra.
I'm not really heavily invested in DC at the moment and most of these events turn out pretty retarded so I'll just wait for the deluge of threads where /co/ complains to figure out whats going on.
Peej has always been about punching bad guys in the face. And I'd really not entangle my favorite character in any feminist webs. Just let Peej be Peej.
Non DC reader here
Can someone explain what Power Girl is?
I thought she was just a version of Super Girl. But in the current continuity what is her relation to Super Man, Super Girl and Krypton.
she looks like she's in her later 20s/early 30s or something in most of the pictures I've seen, but maybe its just the bust and haircut.
>I thought she was just a version of Super Girl.
That's correct. She's Supergirl, but from another Earth. She's a few years older than main Earth Supergirl, which is why she's bustier.
She's still Kryptonian, but from her Earth's Krypton. And in her Earth, she has her own Superman. So she has no actual relation to main Superman.
Shut up and butts.
So she only exists in that universe? And then what's with that Superman? Is he Power Guy?
Why did she change her name? Why is she older?
So she is the exact same person as Super Girl (Kara Zor-El?), why doesn't she go by the Super Girl title then?
>So she only exists in that universe?
She crossed over to main Earth because Darkseid sent his army to invade her Earth and Darkseid's army succeeded in killing that Earth's version of Batman, Wonder Woman, and Superman. Power Girl's Earth is called Earth 2.
>Why did she change her name?
I'm not clear on her current origin. I suppose she changed it after arriving to the main Earth and learning that there was already a Supergirl.
Why is she older?
Things are different on Earth 2. Some people are older, some are much younger. It's just different because alternate universe.
>So she is the exact same person as Super Girl
Not exactly. They have different personalities. Supergirl was struggling accepting Earth as her new home. She was fresh from arriving there in her space pod. Power Girl was more mellow about it. She's more mature than Supergirl, emotionally speaking.
>why doesn't she go by the Super Girl title then?
Because there's already a Supergirl.
Does she still go by the same Kryptonian and Human name as the other Super Girl?
Is her universe's Kryptionians the same as the current universe's? Sun = power, Kryptonite = bad, etc.
Before the reboot, Earth 2 Superman's Kryptonian name was Kal-L (Not Kal-El), and Power Girl was named Kara Zor-El.
I'm not sure if that's still the case after the reboot though. But Power Girl's civilian name is Karen Starr. That never changed.
Good. Working mostly. Trying to sort out which comics are worth reading these days.
Personally, I moved to a new place. I really gotta find a job, though, but I've got enough grad money to pay rent for a while.
I've fallen out of comics a bit; I'm focusing more on the Cartoons side of /co/ now that Gravity Falls is airing again.
